      If I had given up on the DRZ400SM's seat height(I'm 5'7"), I would have been riding this bike. The CB500F is amazingly light, and perfect for commuting.

    Well done Mate.. I'm an ex-pat from Fairfield (many years ago before it went to the Hoon's) living on Vancouver Island and will be picking up my new CB500f in Candy Orange at the end of May. The missus gave me the "look" when you mentioned the pillion but she'll be right!

      @outie555  Před 7 lety

      +Tom Smith just googled vancouver island, wow that place looks fantastic with amazing views. yeah she'll be alright, its not horrible for a pillion seat and if the journeys less than 30-45min then not a massive issue. Plus my misses was used to a cruiser pillion seat with more padding. Your going to love that bike and the orange looks really nice! Thanks for watching the video and your comment buddy, ride safe mate!

    Hello, your video is really helpful to me. I'm from VietNam and Honda has just opened an official > 500cc bike here in HCM city. So I am in the crossroad of CB500f and CB650f as a daily commuter. But I think I will chose CB500f due to the heavy traffic in my city.

    Nice looking bike. I ride the (much older) CB500S. I like the look of the NC750S, I think it looks amazing, especially in the red/black combination, and a tonne of storage which I like. Worried by the total lack of balls though, on paper has less hp than my current bike. Need to test ride one really

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 7 lety +1

      yeah Honda are making some really good looking bikes as of late. Both the colour choices on the NC750S do look nice. You should definitely test ride one before making your mind up. Your 500S gearing is quite tall and some of the new Honda's have short gearing or really low rev limiters which can take a bit to get used to. But at the end of the day, any day (or night) on two wheels is a great time regardless of the bike :D

  • @burns0100
    @burns0100 Před 7 lety

    Gearing sounds similar to what I'm on now, I'm gonna upgrade or think i am to this from my CFMoto 150-A Leader and yer at 60km/h I'm in 3rd or 4th depending on where i want my revs to be sitting, the bikes got decent power for a 150 in the high rpm above 6000 and it feels fast so 3rd on a highway is nice for that quick boost of power if its needed, 4th I'm just to low in the rpm that it takes a second to really go so its more for cruising at 60. All depends on the traffic conditions but i like the gearing but its not everyones cup of tea when you constantly juggling between 1st and 2nd during start and stop traffic.

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 7 lety

      yeah gear changing can be annoying, but the CBR500F was a pretty good bike and you will notice the build quality straight away from the CFMoto, but like all bikes, test ride it and see how you like it first.

    • @burns0100
      @burns0100 Před 7 lety

      Yer so far i like what I've seen and i went in and it was nice to look at but I'm going to test ride it first because i might feel like shit riding it, who knows lol. Also CFMoto was bad, the bike i got from them was one of the first in Australia but now they are fairly decent, still cheap but not half as bad as most might think. They got a lot of brands to partner with them since coming to Australia and i was seriously considering getting this www.cfmoto.com.au/650NK%20ABS before i seen the Honda.

  • @xFranZiscOxPT
    @xFranZiscOxPT Před 7 lety

    I don't know if you tried a MT-03, but do you think that almost 1000 euros more is worth for this bike instead of the yamaha?

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 7 lety +1

      depends on what type of riding you will be doing. the MT03 is smaller both in size and engine power, but it is lighter. Is this going to be your first bike? how tall are you? taller riders will fit on both, but the CB500F has a little bit more room. ultimately it comes down to what you want. if you are unsure, go and have a look at both bikes. if you haven't got your licence, at least just go to a dealer and sit on them both. look at what feels nicer, what has better visibility in the mirrors, do you feel cramped on either, that sort of thing. they are both good bikes that will hold their value. I have not ever ridden an MT-03, but for me i would go the 500F as it has more power. But i wouldn't mind seeing how the 03 performs with its lighter frame and nimbleness in traffic.

    • @xFranZiscOxPT
      @xFranZiscOxPT Před 7 lety

      Yes, first bike, Im 19 y/o, 1.75m tall. Personally like the appearence of the cb, but the yama is a lot cheaper. Just don't know if the difference is worth it.
      Is it cheap in inspections and overall repairs?
      Thanks for the response, I will try and more info ^^

  • @zak41518
    @zak41518 Před 7 lety

    What is its top speed? Basically I'm just wondering if it can easily reach 70 to 75 mph for highway use. Any answer is appreciated!

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 7 lety +4

      a quick google of its top speed and i found "Cruising at the legal limit is easily possible, with a top speed of about 110mph" (about 180km) and there was another video on CZcams which showed a guy going 177km so i would have to say that it would easily go 70-75 mph. most bikes above 125cc will be able to do that on the highway, through some hills in and anything below 300cc will start to struggle, so CB500F has plenty of power for a smallish bike.

    This cb500f or kawi z650, which one is more suitable for beginners?

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 5 lety

      Both are very similar in riding position and size. But price wise, you can get a 2013 model cb500f for half the price of a relatively new last year's model z650. Cost wise if that's the decider, then Honda is more affordable.if you want power though, then the z650 has a fair bit more as the engine is larger (471cc vs 649cc). Overal, If you want something that's cheaper to run and purchase, then go the Honda, especially if the riding you will be doing is commuting in an urban city. If you want something that is better suited for highway speeds then the z650. Costs a bit more as they haven't been out for as long so you will have to get either new or relatively new (well here in Australia at least). But it will hold its value a little bit better than the Honda. Both are great bikes for a first bike. Have a sit on both to get the feel for them, and if you have your licence ask them for a test ride.

      +Daniel Schlegel yep I would go through the gears quick and before you know it I would be in 6th when I hit 80 km. It would take a bit getting used to the gears and revving it out more per gear but ultimately I found the gear ratios to be quite close to each other.

    • @Daniel-dj7fh
      @Daniel-dj7fh Před 7 lety +1

      It's a bit tricky - CBR500R, CB500F, CB500X, so one CBR and two CB. I've read that some insurances charge more for the CBR than for the CB because the CBR stands for "high performance" even though the engines are the same.
