Handgun is different than an AR-15. Confronted with the experience, anyone facing a shootout with another person would probably say they would rather take on a handgun shooter. Albeit the guns do not fire themselves if they are just laying around or in a secure case but the threat on this type of an attack does factor in the difference.

It is clear that the police chief knew there were kids in the building. They said the screams of the kids had to be edited out of the footage but by the time Bortac got there the screaming had stopped and I really do not think they knew kids were in the room as it has been said by people in connection with them that they were told the shooter was in the room by himself and didn’t know until they went in that there were kids in the room. If you watch TheFieldcraft survivor’s update video on it he tells more that he learned from his sources. I also heard that they disarmed some of the police that had family to keep them from going in. It’s awful and the police chief needs fired. He was the one that was in charge that day IMO and he did nothing. The least he could have done was tell Bortac the correct info so they could have went in as soon as they got there.

Who was the highest ranking state officer there? Were any of them in touch with DPS director McCraw, informing him as to what was going on and asking what they should be doing? Did anyone try to talk to Arredondo and ask him what his plan was? Why didn't anyone take over command when they figured out that he was in over his head. I have a hard time believing that small town SCHOOL police chief Arredondo and his staff of 6, had more mass shooting experience, than the state and federal cops that showed up. So once the state and federal officers showed up, didn't their training include how to communicate and figure out what was going on, to ask what is the plan? The local Uvalde cops did not have the experience to deal with this. But WHY did it take the state and federal officers so long to figure this out and to act?? From early reports to media it sounds like the BD guys who went in to engage the shooter just decided to do it on their own. A lot of people are also saying that it looks like the state and federal cops were under a stand down order. Ordered by who? I doubt they were all just waiting around for small time School police chief Arredondo to tell them what to do? So helping Gov Abbott and McCraw try to make Arredondo the only scapegoat, covers up the bigger problem here.

@@jessicasavage1954 read my comment. There was a bigger problem that day than just 400 LEofficers being too afraid to act.

@@ruthpicon2203 I completely agree. Anyone who stood around for 77 minutes shouldn’t have a job period. Fire them all and start over bc clearly not one of them were there to serve or protect. Not one of them abided by the oath they swore to uphold. I know going forward if I were a person having to live in that area, I wouldn’t even bother calling those cops if I needed them. I guess I see now why so many do want there own guns, bc even if they have police in the area, they aren’t worth the phone call or breath it would take to summon them.
