Adrien Guy from Long & McQuade Edmonton Mayfield demonstrates the Alesis Command X SE 9pc electronic drum kit. For more information, please visit www.long-mcqua.... #alesis #edrums #longandmcquade
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately both the Command X and the Crimson 2 SE are now discontinued. Alesis just released the new Strata Prime kit, their new flagship, so that usually means that newer mid-tier kits will soon be on their way. If you're in Canada, we can help track down used Command X SE or Crimson 2 SE kits.
The Alesis Crimson II would be the better kit over the Command X. However, the Crimson II is discontinued, so it might be difficult to find unless you're interested in used or demo, which we have in stock. If you want a new-in-box kit, the Command X from this video is the way to go.
@longandmcquade but if I hook it up to the KRONOS via MIDI, would I be able to use the sounds on the Alesis or just the Kronos? Sorry if this is a weird question. I'm just not familiar with how these types of connections work
@@TonysMusic1974 You choose one or the other. You could go MIDI out of the Alesis and into the Kronos to use Korg's internal drum sounds, or if you want to use the Alesis drum sounds, you'd just use the analog audio outs on the Alesis into the audio ins of the Kronos.
@longandmcquade thanks. I understand that. I usually use all 16 of my audio ins so I would prefer to use the MIDIs but then I couldn't use the Alesis sounds. Definitely food for thought. Thanks
The rack is different (black on X SE vs chrome on regular X), the cymbal mounting points are different (on the crossbars on the X SE vs on the vertical posts on the regular X), and the heads are different (white pinstripe on X SE vs black on the regular X).
great video, thanks for the demo. been comparing kit after kit and can't decide on what to get 🤪 keep coming back to Alesis kits tho
me too , this is really cool
great demo of the kit.
Am looking at this or the crimson 2 se.

What is the difference between this and the crimson 2 I'm trying to decided which to buy

hey man, when you were playing the blues track around 1:21, were those ghost notes hitting? i couldn't make it out... how sensitive is the head?
We can hear the ghost notes pretty well, even with the backing track!
This module is 10 x better than the Nitro kits. Even better than the DM10.

@@SuAmigoElilegal I don't own one but just the samples I've heard are very good
Can I record these as MIDI? I used a Korg KRONOS to record.
Yes, the Command X module has MIDI out.

@@longandmcquade Thank you so much for the quick reply.
bro, they are kits ... not "sounds".
Exactly, he conflates sounds and kits. These modules have 670+ sounds. Generally, 70 kits (20 user created).
To hell with the drums, whats up with thosr juicy vintage Traynor amps?? Huge Traynor fan.
Dont get smart... mere drummer. But i like you.
Kurt Cobain's little brother.
it sounds like trash, sorry, better stick with roland.
You can create a custom kit that sounds fine, it just takes a bit of work. There's always EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer as well.
