  • In this video I'm showing you how to Route out for the special cavities that is needed for the active boost circuit that is build into Andy Summers Telecaster. This can potentially ruin the hole build so I'm pretty nervous about it.
    If you want to boost your telecaster check out how I did it.

    I’m heavily inspired by Novo guitars by Dennis Fano - and my building philosophy is - not to reinvent the wheel- but rather try to learn from the greats.
    I’m a guitar building beginner and I have been following The Great Guitar Build Off competition 2020. I learned a lot from the competitors and that inspired me greatly to build a guitar myself.
    I built my first guitar under lockdown last summer 2020 and guitar building kind of hooked me.
    I have bought a neck from GuitarAnatomy.com
    The point is to learn how to build great guitars. It can't be rocket science, but it's fascinating. My plan is to learn from the best by researching materials, components, and methods.

      Hey Ryan. Sounds great. I’m super hiped about this build-if just I can avoid messing it all up 😅👍🏼
      Thanks so much for watching 🙏

    Great job! There are so many nerve-wracking steps with guitar building ("If I mess this up that's thirty hours of work down the drain") but so rewarding to play an instrument that you made.

      You are absolutely right… we are just chasing that high of something we build being great… and that means coping with all the times it’s not so great…
      Hey thanks so much for watching and commenting 😃🙏

    You're very brave, chewing into a nice body like that! I may have missed the reason in the first video, but why is the bridge coming forward a few, mm.

    • @MichaelLagerstedt
      @MichaelLagerstedt  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jurgen
      Well when I placed the bridge over the string through holes the scale length was off with about 10mm… I compared with a fender telecaster player series and it’s not the body but the bridge. I have to contact the bridge company to ask why it is. But I have a work around I think 🤔
      Thanks for following along Jürgen 😃🙏

    Andy's bridge pickup was mounted directly to the bottom. What was the reason for this? How does it affect the sound?

    • @MichaelLagerstedt

      Hey, Thanks so much for watching 😃🙏🏻
      Mounting the bridge pickup into the wood changes the sound significantly according to Fender Custom Shop’s Mike Eldred. Check out this clip:

    If you first drill out some material with a forstner bit it will save you time and the router bit..

    • @MichaelLagerstedt
      @MichaelLagerstedt  Před 2 lety

      On my wish list is forstner bit and drill press.
      Thanks for great tip 🙏😃👍🏼
