Today i headed to Chelmsford central parkrun which just happened to be their event #400 for episode 6 on my parkrun tour. In this series I'm running a new parkrun every weekend across the country and this was the biggest attendance I've seen so far. 592 runners headed down to central park for a free, weekly, timed 5k. Loved this one and cant wait for the next. As always a huge thank you to the volunteers. If you enjoyed this video leave a like and consider subscribing to the channel. Comment below where i should head next.

I love the fact that you finish so calm and relaxed, while filming too!! I’d love to see you absolutely rinsed and see how fast you can go!
You'll enjoy the next race day video aha!
@@BenIsRunning looking forward to it👍🏼😁
Well done Ben. I appreciate that you always thank the volunteers and Marshall’s whenever you run.
Good to see you running my local parkrun and giving it such a good image. Glad you enjoyed it. Keep up the great content.
Good running Ben, loving your work, keep it up.
Watch this guy cross a park run finish line every week and he always ends up going "Which one do you need first" haha classic, keep up the great content!
Well done and looks like a lovely park run! I went down to my first one in months at Fleetwood (can be very quick depending on the weather since it's on the sea front). Ran a 19:19 (14 seconds off my PB with the first 1.5 miles into the wind). Pretty happy with it considering when I started running about 2 years ago I think my first one was something like 30:30!
I used to work in a office 2 mins walk away from Central park and I used to go for a walk there pretty much every day. Not been there since the first lockdown, must get over there for a Parkrun at some point. Knowing the Park well I guess most of it is pretty flat.
I’m so excited for the 10k vlog‼️
Congrats Ben. I gotta say -- that one woman who blasted off with the dog was running FAST. Pretty amazing. Also it looked like you were doing this race effortlessly. You could still talk and capture some pretty incredible video. Also sort of interesting that parts of that route looked like my bike trail in the mountain west of the US. As always, enjoy your channel and seeing your running adventures.
Be cool to see you at our humble little Great Cornard Parkrun someday. Also, bit further afield but Holkham Parkrun is definitely worth a visit!
Hi Mike, Great Cornard is my local and I just started last month going there (and at Great Notley/Braintree). Really enjoying the experience and will hopefully try Chelmsford soon:)
Great video Ben cheers, amazing it was your first visit there, filmed while talking to us and you still came 1st :)) I'm enjoying joining in having started parkrun only a few months ago. All the best.
I've only started watching recently Ben and I'm glad to be following you on your journey, your content is great, keep it up
Thanks George
I love the community coming together for a healthy run! I wish we had Park Run over here! Thanks for doing these videos! Lots of un Ben!
Yeah its the best thing about running in the Uk, the community is so strong because of these weekly 5k's put on by volunteers!
Great stuff as always Ben!
Thanks Matty :)
Just shows you how you can inspire people with these videos when you see that lovely family and the young man racing to see you 😎
Yeah it certainly was a special moment :)
I recommend Bushy Park. It’s where the first parkrun was and gets about 1000 people. Good flat course too
Ever since I started this series I’ve been wanting to head to that one so I’ll definitely give it a go :)
Ben, do say when you plan to go to Bushy as its my local and will make sure I'm there that week to say hi. You will have to go some to keep your streak going cos first finishers there are normally in the 15 min bracket and when Jake turns up then sub 15
Andy still has the record there. Likeable bloke he is.
Smashed it again! You make it look effortless 💪
Thanks Chris :)
Felt lazy after night shift watched couple of ur videos so went and put trainers on and smashed 5k only 3 seconds off my target time. Thanks for the inspiration
Loved this one, so many people!
Thank you x
Great work, you’re getting so many views now it’s gonna be hard to keep up with the comments! But happy for you :) you must be really proud of the body of content you have put out the last 8 or so months, I know I and so many others look to you for entertainment, information and inspiration so you should be so proud of yourself!
Hi Ben, great running! You made that win look easy :). Chelmsford is my local too, shame I couldn't be there that day. Good luck with the sub 70 training 😊👊
Well done Ben, Amazing 1st again💪
Thank you Andy
Great video ben!ive got a few to choose from where i live ,my local one is Alexandra park in oldham always a good turn out too!😁🏃♂️
You brought such a great atmosphere to Chelmsford this weekend! Hopefully you’ll run here again sometime. You also happened to film my finish 🏃♀️
300 subs since your last vlog, respect! ✊🏻
Another top video. The vids showcase what ParkRuns are all about, community runners of all abilities 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ 🏃 Hope to see you at one I do as I’ll defo say hello!
thanks for the video, i am a new runner and you really inspire me:)
Love to hear it! Hope your training is going well
Great seeing you at Chelmsford Ben! I was the guy 1 place ahead of the Braintree runner you spoke to in the Adidas, I was annoyed that I got p101 as they were giving out a prize for every 100th runner, but nevertheless it was a solid run and it was lovely to have you
Great run Dom, shame about the box of chocolates :)
Great video and good to meet you!
Likewise! Your dog is a certainly a contender for 100m gold
The only time I did Chelmsford was on new years day when you could run 2 in one morning. That was a 10.30 start and the turnout was nearly 1,000. A great course with fantastic volunteers, I still recall a huge mudpit just after the start with perfectly christened my new trainers.
That sounds about right! Great community spirit at this one :)
Loving your channel Ben, been following for a few weeks now. Was great to see you at Chelmsford Central parkrun on Saturday, apologies if I accidentally spoiled your clip before the start by going "That's Ben!" when I saw you. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing where you end up next in your parkrun series.
Nice to meet you to buddy and don't be silly! Hopefully catch you at another one soon :)
@@BenIsRunning Definitely! Looking forward to it!
Big inspiration for me ❤❤keep it up✌
Thanks Liam
Time to do as many parkruns as possible for 2022! :D You become the parkrun world champion!
I believe someones won over 300 so I've got years and years until that becomes even a possibility :)
Parkrun is cool. There aren't that many in the US, mostly charity runs which aren't a bad thing, but they add up in money, tshirts, and knick knacks.
You looked so relaxed at the end
Haha me and my dad are in the background! Loved watching it from the front perspective (from someone who normally gets 29 mins 😂)
Thanks emily! Hope you had a good run :)
The best series on CZcams by far
Love to hear it!!!
Well done Ben mate, I’m Riley from the brazier family great time
Hi Ben. I love this series of park runs - it's brilliant seeing so many people getting involved every Saturday at 9.00 all around the country - I live in the Bristol area and have a few to choose from each week. I also volunteer from time to time - sometimes it's just nice to watch others running 😀. Thanks for all your excellent content. I can't wait for the next episode of you , Ben and Andy challenging each other 😃
Thank you Claire! Hopefully i can run a parkrun with andy before too long :)
Just a little bit busier than the 68 runners at mine this weekend mate. Great to see your channel going to well. See you in sheppy/Sittingbourne one day 😂
Just a little shakeout today, no crazy times.... 1st finisher haha!! well done mate another great vlog
Cheers Andy! You know what I’m like when it comes to competition. I get the slightest whiff of a 1st finisher and I just can’t help myself 😂
31:52! Good luck 💪🏼💪🏼
Been waiting for this one! I'm nursing a minor knee injury right now... and these videos really help my depressed non-running-state
Good to hear it’s only minor and hopefully you’ll be back out there soon! In the meantime, enjoy :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥👊👊👊 nuff said
very well layout even though you didn't know where to go haha
You should try Pegwell Bay Parkrun in Kent... (sneakily it's 200m short!)
Ben - when are you launching your first merch drop?!... Gotta do a cap to start with I reckon :) Love you videos mate. #runspiration
Colchester Highwoods is worth a go.
That dog wasn't messing about going for first place 😅
He was flying!!
@@BenIsRunning He must have pretty mean Strava stats!
@@timeonfeet They make mine look paw.... :)
Well done Ben- I'm glad you enjoyed this one so much!! (What are your temps outside now during your runs?)
Thanks Ken. Its around 10 Degrees at the moment (50 Fahrenheit)
Come to colchester!
Våga in Swedish means “to dare”
Come to Long Eaton in Nottingham one of the fastest park runs in UK
Somerdale Pavilion Park Run. Lets see that Curly Wurly
Ive seen that on instagram! Is that in bristol?
@@BenIsRunning Google does say it is near Bristol. I'm an American so I will avoid being too specific 😂 .
Hi Ben it’s me Riley brazier how are u doing
Come to endcliffe!!!!!
you guys have so many parkruns in EU im jealous there’s only 2 in all of Texas over here 😭
We are very lucky but 2 is better that none :)
@@BenIsRunning Ben - You can fit the UK inside Texas many many times over. It's the second largest state in size (only one named Alaska is larger) in the USA.
Start one with a local club or school. In the UK, Leeds was started with a lot of assistance from the local University.
When there was only 1 parkrun, people would ask why not set one up in X? Parkrun will assist in startup, just need some consistency in volunteers
@@manutd9899 Actually you coudn't even put 3 UKs in Texas (UK size 93,628 square miles and Texas size is 268,597 square miles). Texas is huge but let's not exaggerate.
@@duhusker4383 My apologies I took it as smaller. Thank you for the correction.
32 is and was very very ambitious considering your 5k PB. Good job digging in anyway
Don’t think it is his 5k pb is just over 15:00 and the rule of thumb for a 10k to aim for is double your 5k and add a minute. So definitely possible
If your goals don't scare you there not big enough :)
Sneakers, he just set his 5k PB as 15:46. I believe he’s in 15:38 shape. I think he’s at best in 32:20 shape which would have been my goal if I were him
@@christopherhamill525 that’s his parkrun pb
His official 5k then is 15:48. U proved my point further
Ahhh I literally just finished watching the other Parkrun videos and was a bit gutted I had ran out. Refreshed CZcams and you added another 😂
Ey thats good to hear! Thanks for watching :)
Great video Ben ! I was wondering if you have any wise words to help me get back on the wagon, I lost my running momentum after duffing up my ankle a few weeks ago and I’m struggling to put in 10k a week now. I think booking Brighton in April spooked me a bit too.
Get down to a parkrun on a Saturday morning. That'll give you all the motivation you need :)
@@BenIsRunning I’ve been meaning too for the past 3 weeks, you’re right !
I’ve got to stop going out on the lash on Fridays aha.
I want to do park run in Chelmsford in 2023
What time did you do Ben ? You looked like you were barely out of breath at the end and still came home first. Dunno how you do it 👏
17:24 I believe :) Thanks Phil, lots of training!
You just need to get yourself a buggy now for the next parkrun
Im sure this will happen one day!
Will you be doing track workouts ??
Never seen them in the channel
I saw in a previous video (I think it was about double training days) that Ben found it hard to film at the track, I think because there are a lot of younger athletes so data and child protection stuff gets a bit tricky, also stuff around getting permission to film from the Club.
@@adamrobinson3929 Spot on, thanks! Would love to film more track stuff but where i live all the tracks are privately owned so taking a camera on would cause lots of admin unfortunately
Just curious , why do you change running shoes so often , I like it , but just wondered why?
I’m fortunate enough to get sent the occasional shoes to review and also like to have a shoe rotation to ultimately prevent injury :) if I ran all my runs in my carbon racing shoes I’d probably end up injured :)
@@BenIsRunning thanks a lot , makes perfect sense
This whole ‘parkrun is not a race’ people say is nonsense. Of course it’s a race! Everyone there is racing against others or themselves.
This is very true ahah :)
