This is Fiji's national game! Every kid in every backyard, every road, every school, beach, reef, is playing rugby! It's all they talk about for hours on end! Super happy for them, they don't have much, but they just love the game!
The best Fiji has ever played! Did things that I couldn't believe. Turned the ball over at our own try line. Absorbed pressure throughout the game, kept our composure during the final 20 and won one of the greatest victories ever!!!!!

Yeah, Fiji has long being denied to playing in professional environment till 2022 when South Africa left super rugby. Fijians ply there trade in the NH and they were always at the whims of the club's managers. The super rugby has enabled Fiji for the first time in history to have a 100 percent content of professional players. This is the missing link in the Pacific team's namely Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. Although we are small in size, the islanders light the game up wherever they ply there trade. So come on world rugby give them their fair share.

It's not that Fiji played Sevens style rugby, but they used their natural skills from the Sevens game to great effect.
The beauty of having a natural backline full of attacking weapons, is that it only really took for Fiji to develop a forward pack that can make it easy for that backline to shine.
Now Fiji need to just keep working on perfecting their forward set piece and stamina work, so that they can perform at this awesome level all the time. When that happens, i think the rest of World Rugby will be on notice.

England's 1st try looked like a foward pass if you watch closely. Smith was also infront of kicker for his try. Marler tackle on Tuisue not reviewed by TMO. Round of applause TMO for for only checking Fiji disallowed try and keeping English in the game. Score board would have been much different.

Most second rows can't coach because most are just grunts. Fly halfs make the best coaches because their main skill is overview.
That being said, when Farrell junior segways straight into the national coaching setup, he'll show what he is: a thug and the thickest bloke on the building site.
Haven't supported England since Farrell's debut in Feb 2012 because it's been the ugliest, most inffective rugby we've ever played.

I think people underestimated Eddie Jones. They forgot from where he took England. He took them from 'Eliminated in group stages in WC as a host nation', which is extremely bad, to being the favourites (to many) to winning the 2019 WC, beating all SH teams in same WC, except for SA and eliminating NZ in semis. Under him ENG contested to being the best rugby nation. What is happening right now doesn't surprise me. This is the original ENG before EJ.

What a golden and World Cup worthy performance from England - they were composed throughout the 80 minutes, resilient, powerful, highly-creative, disciplined, strong in defence, dynamic, joined-up in their thinking, all players performed immensely well under pressure and they always looked threatening with the ball.

Very good game from both teams..but fiji were playing alot of confidence in the last 5 minutes...and raiwalui managed the players substitution well to keep the fijian pack right on to the final seconds ...great team effort
If you're an English fan dont loose heart . As teams become more professional then they become better over time. Fiji played a great game. Japan beat South Africa in the pool matches of the 2015 RWC . I remember the outcry from South African fans. There were tears, tantrums and it seemed South Africa were about to implode. Then a mere four years latter S A lifted the trophy, in part thanks to England playing the game of their lives against us ( the All Blacks) in the semi final thus knocking us out of the 2019 RWC. If the All Blacks had gotten to the final I would say we would have won as we had S A's number . But that is life and things change rapidly. So England don't lament. Use it as a learning and you never know , you could be lifting the cup in 2027 or sooner ;)

It was mostly French substitutes against Fiji. Atonio, Willemse, Aldritt, Cros and Danty. I think Borthwick had chosen his best players. France won by 17 points difference. There is a big difference. 😂
