"Welded myself into a corner" had me chuckling, nice one.
Hehehe.... I just didn't even think about it till I tried to get the jack out 😂🤣😅
I tell you what with the tools your using and the small work space you have you are doing a bloody great job, really looking forward to more videos on the frame work, stay safe mate
I could definitely do with some more room, but at least its cozy in winter hey 🤣😂
Thanks for the comment Ian and for watching the channel 😁👍
Well isn't that just beautiful...This is going to be a very pretty bike!..👍🗽🇺🇸
I hope so.with thr amount of effort going it. It's not an old school ride, but should be presentable I think 😁👍
Excellent, liking it a lot. 👍😁❤
Remember all good things come to those who wait lol great video as usual sir 👍👍👍
Very true matey 👍
Love your channel Quickie i have learned so keep up the great work
Thank you very much for watching Jason 😁👍
this is going to look bloody nice. 😎
It's getting there init 😁
An awful lot of time has gone into this, but its going to be worth it I think 😁👍
Taking shape nicely! Really forward to seeing the tail and seat work 🙂
Thank you matey 👍
Loving the seat hoop 😍😍😍
The wider rear is better looking imo compared to the skinny cafe racer seat style.
It's a bit more comfortable to sit on as well I'll bet 🤣😂
@@QuickBikes. Hey Quicky what this fella? I've had a few of these but wasn't sure what I'm supposed to do 🤣
Cheers
Kev
Ignore it matey, it's some twit spoofing as me trying to get folks to click a link. They seem to do the rounds every so often and I get rid of them asap, but some still get through. Sorry about that matey 👍
Looking really nice.
The new one looks like it could be wide enough to accommodate Steve's chunky goodness!!!
Hehehe..... Not as wide as the stock seat but definitely wider than GIXIT's.... 😁👍
Good Stuff Mate 👍 I’m really enjoying this, your attention to detail is to be commended.
Thank you Graham. It's turning out really nicely so far. I'm hoping the bike ends up looking really nice 👍
I like that it's not completely old school but is heavily inspired by that look with a modern take on it. But then again I love butchered classics old school bikes improved with modern running gear
Yeah, I get you... It still looks Bandit which is cool, just different. It's going to be interesting to see what the finished thing looks like 👍
Tube bending weld master man is back!
Hehehe.... Where....???? Send me a link..... 😂🤣
Bike looks great. That slight angled subframe is your thing. Same thing with SteveO's bike.
Yeah, pretty similar, just a bit more comfortable 😁
Looking good mate
Thank you matey 😁👍
looking good!!
Thank you matey 👍
It's looking mint. 👌
Thank you matey, much appreciated 😁👍
When I used to be a fitter in a car plant I hated bending pipe and also pipe fitting. I invented myself a job in separate small stores doing machining only lol. It had a really nice Holbrook lathe that was nice and strong and also a Boxford along with a Bridgeport mill and a surface grinder! All in very good condition. Most of the parts were obsolete so I invented that job just for myself and there were loads of steel in the stores to help yourself to. Getting parts machined outside used to cost a fortune! So I ball shitted my way to do that job lol. I loved it until we were all made redundant. Sad ending
That sounds like a proper fun job. I really DO like the machining and welding side to what I do. Seems to give me the most satisfaction even if some of it takes ages 😂🤣
@@QuickBikes Another good one for you to look at is another channel called Prism Supply. All bikes lol
I'll give it a look see 😁
Looking very cool buddy really taking shape 👍🏻
Thank you, that's very kind of you. I'm really pleased with how this is coming out now and it's much nicer to see the bike taking shape than just staring at a jig each day 😂🤣
The jack stand propper tickled me 😄
It's that sudden moment of realization when you realize you've just done something dumb.... 🤣😂
@@QuickBikes been there way more times than I'd like to admit 😅
That is cool as anything. I had my doubts with the first mock up bends, however the changes you've made are bang on, as is the bracing - way better than the original thought.
Thank you matey, I'm really pleased with it so far. I don't think I could have done much better for a first frame attempt... 😁👍
@@QuickBikes You've been saying that a lot, however every time you say it, I say to myself, "I doubt Mr Suzuki's production Bandits were anywhere near the tolerance you're working to".
Don't be so hard on yourself, you're doing quality work.
Cheers dude 👍
It's looking really good, old school bike do you mean 1960's style cafe racer you have lost it but i a good way,Will be your old school type racer.
Yeah there's no way I can make it look.like one of them given a chunky frame, tri-spoke wheels and a monoshock.... I'm sure it'll run out nice though in the end 😁👍
Looks great! Would love to pop down one day and show you my gsf650s cafe build. It's not to the same standard/quality but i love it. Im only an hour away and actually heading to macpherson motorcycle for a dyno an tune in june 👍
MacPherson are really good, very cool looking workshop too. Let me know when you're down matey 😁👍
It's looking really good, and I like that you'll have that hour glass shape when you look down onto the seat. And those Braces look better being shorter as it follows the line of the bracing up by the stem to
A lot of this is just how it has to be given the location of stuff, but its going to be a good looking frame I think when I'm done. I'm pleased with it so far anyways 😁👍
@@QuickBikes definitely going to look good, and you can see the nod to the old skool in it
Mate you're supposed to do this with ring spanners and have creases every few cm, I watched someone else do it!
Jokes aside, looking awesome!
Hehehe..... I still chuckle to myself when I think of that video 😂🤣
Thank you matey, very kind of you 😁👍
Just watched the subframe build mate. Bang on I reckon. Have you thought about battery tray placement, wiring etc, in relation to running cables through the tubes? So sighting entry/exit holes, possibly before final welding/dressing. Just a thought. 🤔 Love watching the channel. Bike building n' comedy all rolled into one.🤣
It would be good to.shove some of the wiring through the frame, but to be honest I'm still in two minds about battery placement. Once I get that figured out, it's getting holes drilled in it 😂🤣
Thanks for watching matey, it's very much appreciated 👍
Awesome! Just think it needs more support to the rear like a trelis that goes from the base of the brace to the base of the loop maybe in the ligther tube you have plenty of, its coming really nice mate, never worry of the old school looks its your aproach to the theme so go with it. Cheers!!
I was thinking along the same lines yesterday, but seeing as there's going to be very little weight at the back I think we'll be alright. I'm going to bounce up and down on it a madman and maybe load it with some qeight to see what the deflection is, but will hold off adding more till.Ive done that first I think 🤔
@@QuickBikes get stevo to bounce on it.
It's coming together awesome I hope you have written all the angles etc down on paper, so you can mirror your second build the same coz going to be an awesome bike. stay safe buddy!!
I've been taking notes as I've gone along and the frame jig sets all the important stuff, but to be fair the next frame may well be a little different anyways matey 😁👍
@@QuickBikes awesome thought you would be on top of it, who knows that could be your signature style frame.
It could be if it works out on track etc. I like that it's clean looking etc as well 😁👍
Keeping it simple, and that includes the price 😄
Hehehe..... At the end of the day it's still only a Bandit matey 😂
Hiya.I was going to ask if you were welding the subframe on or making it bolt on.Seems like its weld on then, fair enough. Not finished,I know, but youve got to be pleased with the way its going. All the best.
Yup, it's welded on, I did that bit today. Tomorrow I start dressing it all up and putting the braces in 😁👍
You know of any hubs you can use to makes spoked wheels for the bandit .I’m asking a few builders as I’m doing the reasearch so I can do the job and twin bck shocks ,cheers .I did hear using ktm or bmw has been done but I’ve only seen one .cheers nice build .
I'm not sure matey as its not something I've looked into for a build yet. I know you can get bespoke ones made by Talon, but they will cost you a FORTUNE... There might be something on the Everything Bandit Facebook page that could help as I'm sure somebody else would have done it. Axle spacing would be easy to fix, I guess it's more where the sprocket / disc sits on the new wheel.... Hmmm....
I hope you find a solution and would be interested to hear how it works out as it suddenly gives you wheel options for future builds 😁👍
You have captured much of the Old School Essence , because it is All Hand Made , by You , and not farmed out to a Pro Bulider , [ which is not wrong if you do not have the skills ] , You could call it '' Old School Evolved '' .
True I guess..... I'm happy with what I'm doing and how it's turning out, but it's just not old school looking. Should be a nice bike when it's done all the same though 😁👍
@@QuickBikes '' Nice '' does not come close .
Keeping it simple, that include the one sitting on it. 😂
The simpler the betterer hey 😂🤣
25:27 does the shock reservoir foul the idea on the other side of the frame. Camera angle makes it looks like it might but that’s all it could be.
29:34 oh shiiiieeeetttt!
Nope, we're clear on the frame and to be fair, there won't be much movement in the angle on full compression. Should be OK matey 👍
Very good video is the steel you are using 4140👨🔧
Thank you matey. I'm afraid there's no chromoly on this build as it's proper expensive and I'm sticking to what the manufacturer used whichnis mild steel ERW. Not as corrosion resistant I know, butbif it's good enough for Suzuki.... 😁
Thanks for chipping in matey
1mm differencenthats terrible wouldn't have happened if you used two ring spanners to get it ripple smooth
Hehehe.... I don't know why I get really annoyed at not hitting the numbers, but it niggles me something fierce 🤣😂
I once made an apprentice start from scratch fitting a door frame because it was three mm out of parallel years later I bumped into him and he thanked me for the kick up the but as his standards were far better since then and he always remembered
I like that.... 😁👍
I just pays to get things spot on if you can hey 😁
