Independence Day 2023

My buddies Brett Rinker and Bill Foley and I taught an LE patrol rifle class for 4 days this week for 18 officers from 7 agencies. After shooting an AR15 with an LPVO all week, as a wind-down on a beautiful summer evening I thought I’d shoot the 250-yard Pepper Poppers with one of my old-guy guns, a refurbished Springfield 1903A3 .30-06. Decided I’d sling up and shoot from a modified braced kneeling, one of the positions we worked on in the class. Load is 48 grains of H4895 and a 155-grain Nosler BTHP, which makes quite a clang. And it’s a great way to start an early celebration of a Happy Independence Day!
