The State Theatre in Minneapolis should not be confused with the Orpheum Theatre in the same city, which Oasis had played back in 1996. In fact, the Orpheum contains a higher capacity with 2,600, in comparison to the State Theatres, 2,181. It’s a shame as this gig sold out in only a matter of days, and who knows the band could’ve even played the Northrop Auditorium (which they played in 1998) which is almost double the size of the last venues. But, it seems as if management didn’t want to go all out in case Oasis had diminished completely, seeing they had been entirely absent during the majority of 1999. Either way the band are here, in front of a sold-out crowd and the gig is a decent one. There’s some funny banter from Liam (particularly in the middle of the show) and the rest of the band seem in a pretty relaxed mood. Liam’s voice is again in decent shape here, but does get a bit hoarse from Gas Panic onwards. But, it does come back up for a pretty good 2000 rendition of Live Forever from Liam himself. It does surprise me how despite the fact they’ve added an extra song, the runtime is almost identical to earlier gigs (which just goes to show the Be Here Now Tour could’ve been much more time efficient!)
