- In this video I have shown you some of scenes from Omaha Campaign which are actually accurate when you research about D-Day landing especially Omaha Beach, I complied few of the accuracies into this video.
D-Day landing was one of the long-awaited Allied Invasion of Normandy through English Channel, Allied troops were consisted of Americans, British, French & Canadian troops who were assigned to different landing spots, Americans had the beach Omaha and Utah and were one of worse landings with extremely high casualties due to many reasons which you can see in this video.
Respect to all of the fallen and veteran soldiers who fought against oppression, discrimination & occupation.

a few more details :
1. D-day at omaha beach actually took the whole day to pull off, but this inaccuracy is understandable because who wants to play/develop a level that took a whole damn day to finish
2. the weather cleared off by noon which means the ships could start shelling the beach, this is part of the reason why later waves have more success in their assault.
3. There where exactly 5 bunkers/MG nests guarding omaha, whether this is coincidentally or intentionally they got it right.
4. The trenches we're placed behind the bunker lines actually, but was placed at the front to give way to better gameplay pacing.
5. We see armored vehicles only after the first wave ascended on top the sea wall, this is because the soldiers have secured enough land of the sturdier 2nd part of the beach for the vehicles to move into, they also "cleared" enough mines for the vehicles to pass through ("cleared" as in triggered)
6. The glowing machinegun tracer may just be an gameplay effect, but actual d-day german gunners actually used tracer's because they ran out of normal belts from the first few waves, this gave their position out to the ships when the weather cleared.
7. Omaha was supposed to be a pincer attack from both front and rear (with paratroopers), you can actually see the transports at 2:05 (some might confuse them with lancasters, which have 4 engines). Although they we're dropped much more earlier, and most of them got captured, killed or lost
Hey buddy, thank you this is actually really good and informative for me, these covers some of the things that I should have covered in my research, I am gonna Pin this comment for others to see :)
Those are B-26 Marauders not C-47 Skytrains
For 2. They also refused to fire because they couldn't get close due to the German naval artillery and U-boats.
Just as an fyi Anti Tank mines don’t trigger when a person steps on them, you don’t generate enough force to activate it, so whoever told you that is wrong
@@derekm1918 There are other ways to trigger a mine, usually with explosives or a mine flail.
The reason that the MG-42 is nicknamed “Hitler’s Buzzsaw” is because it fires so fast that it can literally cut a man in half. The amount of dismemberment seen in this mission is just about accurate.
damn that's sick name and live up to its expectations.
1800rpm cyclic, 30% faster than the MG34 it ‘obsoleted’ IIRC

@@JT-yz4rj 1550 rpm was the maximum I believe, but yes it practically made the mg34 obsolete

I think one of the few ways they could've made it better was if it had a system like Battlefield 1 where if the soldier got hit you'd actually see a death screen before moving to another a bit further back. It would be a bit more boring dying again and again, but it sure would've made clear the scale of death involved in the landings.
Damn bud, that would make it way better but only BF1 could ever implement this idea I don't think any other game could implement it,
that wouldnt have worked unless they did an entirely different intro, you play as a named character you get introduced to and are playing as the entire game, it would be really weird to hop through people as you died if you are gonna be the same character that died later on
My great grandfather made it onto that beach, in a tank.
He later fought through France, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
In that timeframe he had 8 tanks shot out from under him, the last one leaving him with shrapnel in his back and stunting his ability to properly work as a crew member.
He spent the rest of the war volunteering to drive supply trucks to the frontlines.
Mad respect for your grandpa bud! 🫡🫡
That's actually interesting that crew members can escape a tank before it blows to pieces.
@@willysillyplaysthats just m4 sherman moment. over 90% crew survivability.
Same here. My great-grandfather was a part of the very scene in this depiction. First wave of the 1st Infantry Division 16th Regiment. He had to jump off the side of his boat when it landed, saved his sergeant from drowning, and then continued to pull soldiers into safety and cover. He almost died when a bullet had entered his helmet, but it hit at an angle and it ended up partially curving around his head and out again. He survived that day and made it in France for a while before returning from patrol and unfortunately got hit by friendly fire. The guy who shot him was new to the front and jumpy, and my great-grandfather never held too much against him. He was supposed to be paralyzed from the legs down, but my great-grandfather was a determined man, and through his strength and God's grace, he managed to walk again, surprising all the doctors.
@@ussindianapolis487 Yeah. High crew survival rate... if they already knew how unstable the Sherman tanks could be. They didn't call them 'Tommy Cooker' or 'Ronson' for a reason.
@@MLPIceberg how many times do we have to repeat it, sherman was never called tommy cooker or ronson in ww2. crew survivability is real, m4 really was that safe of a tank. safer than a panther or tiger 2.
Their were meant to be Sherman and maybe even Cromwell DD tanks to go with the infantry but sunk to the bottom of the English Channel due to the bad weather only something around 20 tanks made it to the beach but were destroyed by flak KWK 36 88mm guns and mines and artillery
The comment I was waiting for 💯💯
But were these tanks at Dog Green sector?
I thought only 2 Sherman's made it to the beach of Omaha

put yourself in the germans shoes.... i felt pure horror imagining it from their perspective. seeing destroyers and thousands of landing craft from the worlds most powerful military headed straight for me
back then german and japanese were most powerful...then brits and russians then canadians...america is not even close
@@NoYouAreNotDreaming I don’t think we are remembering the same world history. Admiral Yamamoto specifically said not to attack Pearl Harbor until after a formal declaration of war. He said I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant. Then we proceeded to cream their carrier fleet and retake the pacific. Along with creaming the Germans.
Nah bro, I think he is right, no matter how powerful Germany was they knew they wont stand a chance against such mighty power and on multiple fronts, Hitler started WW2 by planning not to make it 2 front war, but victory was so sweet that he opens so many fronts before he could realize, and poor soldiers has to suffer due to his bad decisions and hunger for more land and power.
but Imagine all these making an alliance against you, you gotta sh*t you pants then.
@@theace1602 you are wrong again...america didnt do shit in europe..yet alone cream the germans...you have few thousand soldiers in africa with ww1 equipment...look it up.your army and navy was far behind everyone in the world...and what yamamoto said and meant was that your industrial might and power will kick japans ass...
I don't know if that's better knowledge. I live in Germany and when we had that in the 10th grade, we were told all the facts you listed and more. With us, the topic of World War II is taught very strongly and is also discussed and taught for a very long time. I don't know how it is in other countries. Nevertheless good video.
that's good, sadly it's kinda the exact opposite in Japan
i can still remember the day we saw "the bridge" with the school boys defending a small unimportant bridge in their village, their teacher who was supposed after them was picked up by either the ss or gestapo because they thought he is running from duty and didnt believe him when he said he had to look after the boys.
Our teacher told us how to properly use a panzerschreck and that the rear HAS TO BE CLEAR because of the backblack (later someone got burned alive because he got backblast to the face) and not to use it indoors.
Our History teacher was a reserve officer of the bundeswehr and taucht history
My only regreat is that having those lessons would be more more interactive with all the knowledge i have now about ww2 and the stuff compared to when i was in school
Czech schools teach very little about western and eastern front, even less about Pacific and pretty much nothing about Africa. Instead it's holocaust over and over again.
I’m my place it only takes 1 page in our high school history books :(
In America it is actually glossed over a lot. Its very important to our culture (there are about 1000 WWII video games and ten times as many movies) but focused more on the implications of what it did to American society after the war ended. Many of my history teachers would rather focus on the pacific front rather than Europe too. That all being said, they would always show the D-Day clip from "saving private ryan".
10:26 There weren't any German tanks on Omaha but across all of D-Day there were some that would drive down onto the beach or fire onto the beaches. While there weren't tank on Omaha themselves there were tank turret emplacements.
Also why the hell are there already destroyed M4 Shermans and M3 Halftracks on the beach when we should be the first wave?
You are somehow right buddy, but most of them either stuck in the mud or sank, German don't even spare moving targets, a static one was a piece of cake for them.
I guess armored landed before the infantry to give them cover instead they got knocked off right away, I saw this information on one of US army history related site, I wished I had gathered all source info into description, but we all learn, now I know I should be adding them for references.
@@willysillyplays There is also a COD: WW2 innaccuracies video made by The Frosty 1 and the allied armour that got destroyed before we landed is one of the innaccuracies that The Frosty 1 mentioned in his video
Hey buddy, yeah I know COD could never be taken as historically accurate but this one had some similarities, there are some historical accuracies but there will be hell lot of inaccuracies for sure.

i really never leave any comment under vids, but this one was really nice, enjoyed going back a few years to live this mission one more time. Thanks mate
hey mate! thank you this means a world to me
I like that they have a ppsh-41 as there were some at Normandy but they dont look like there were repurposed for the german bullets (forgive me I dont remember which bullet the germans wanted to use for the ppsh 41) the game highlights the desperation for weapons and the germans shipped captured ppsh-41s to Normandy
Well, you have the MP41(r) and the MP717. The MP41(r) would have used the 9x19mm Luger and the MP717 would have e been using the 7.63x25mm Mauser. Though the game is just depicting the PPSh-41 using the 7.62x25mm Tokarev.
What? I'm gonna need a sauce that says Russian PPSH41's were in Normandy. I have never heard such a claim. I guess in theory some units that were veterans of the Eastern Front could have taken some as war trophies prior to being rotated to the Western Front, but I have never heard of confirmed cases.
@@northman017 there are documented cases of PPSHs being modified to take MP40 mags and fire 9x19 and they were used in small numbers on the western front. Ive never seen a case of one being found in normandy but its possible there was one. That being said, the one in the game shouldnt be there, it still takes russian ammo and mags. (actually it doesn't really exist at all, because for some fucking reason the devs felt the need to add a PPS mag well to the PPSH in game)
@@northman017 The Axis Powers used a French Hotchkiss Machinegun at Normandy. That much I know of is true.
2:27 Fun fact. Smoking wasn't allowed and almost all of the LCPV drivers were British
oh yeah that makes 100% sense, it will just give Germans a good idea about where to shoot even before they could land.
Very correct!
War is hell, RIP all those young men, thank you for your service
I noticed that u missed a huge thing on the beach scene, u completely overlooked some of the staggering soldiers suffering from Shell Shock, u can see a few of them wandering around aimlessly before dropping.
USS Texas in the opening is also correct for Omaha, some of the Tripod equipment I don't know about but one of those antennae is extremely correct, whether the devs knew why or not. Texas was part of a net of ships carrying radio jamming equipment. Intended to counter Henschel Hs 293's which could be dropped from altitudes far in excess of the fighter cover (Texas' kingfishers and pilots were left ashore in the UK, the pilots and flight crew trained in RAF Spitfires either as dedicated recon or part of the fleet aircover). The overwhelming majority of shore bombardment was directed and fire adjusted by attached RAF spotters and the USN pilots loaded to their units. The USN spent 2 weeks training their gunnery and radio crews in RAF and Royal Navy radio procedures for uniformity and standardisation.
I don't think even the few nerdiest history buffs know how important the aerial artillery spotting was. Many ground units didn't or couldn't call for artillery, they had to trust the pilots overhead to direct fire as required. Even those units with radios with permission to request GFS/NGS would have had a spotter overhead or directed to them to assist in target precision.
On a side note USS Northampton or Augusta can be seen off the coast in the game. Both of which were in Texas' squadron during the 14 days rehearsals and training exercises, but were not part of Texas' squadron during D-Day. Texas was paired and escorted by HMS Glasgow, covering the Western parts of Omaha, with USS Arkansas and a pair of Free French light cruisers supporting the east. Along with a large host of American and some British destroyers.
I believe Nevada was the only other US BB involved in Op. Neptune.
hey buddy, that very informative and good stuff as many people dont know about the Navy side of D-Day as it all comes to the infantry storming the beaches.
I had to read your comment twice as this information was too much for my noob head to understand in first attempt lol.
This mission was half of the way historically accurate. First the landing craft should be British as the Americans didnt have many of their own as they were in the pacific with the island hopping campaign. Second the beach is too short it is said Omaha was in low tide when the landing happened. Third the boats are too close too the beach, the German 88mm Guns would have had a blast if they were that close. Four You should be the second or third wave because the first wave was notoriously wiped out by the germans. There is more but I don't want to write a whole book.
Edit: When I mean boats I mean the big ones like the U.S destroyers.
yes buddy, it was not 100% accurate no doubt, the Omaha beach was about 400 yards (around 365meter), game may have shown it with bit more distance, but I think it's not that much inaccurate & we are the first wave as you don't see existing boats (infantry carrying) right when we land here, but some of your points are valid and true.
@@willysillyplaysit's like, 20 percent accurate
The first wave wasn't all wiped out. Upwards of 75%-90% was thought to have been killed before or by the time the second wave landed. Most of the second wave too, if I'm not mistaken.
@@MLPIcebergSorry its been six months since I have gone back to this video. While yes I could have worded it better by saying the 1st wave took high casualties. I meant while it seems like we're part of the first wave why are there already preexisting destroyed vehicles there.
With such attention to detail, it’s a bloody shame that the COD WW2 campaign and especially multiplayer was a mixed bag. And to be followed up by Vanguard.
The ammount of "study" and knowledge depicted here is as deep as a 12 year old school project.
lol okay bud, 12-year-old still isn't bad, a history knowledge of 12 is better than a history knowledge of nobody I guess XD
I visited Normandy as a Brit on a school trip in Year 10, and when we were visiting Omaha, you could feel the silence in the group as we stopped chatting and approached the cliff, walking down.
damn bud, you were actually lucky, this is one of my dream to visit Omaha beach, I would stand there in silence, close my eyes and feel and imagine what happened here.
I am currently looking for a good book that covers the Omaha beach assault, let me know if you know one :)
after Omaha beach, I would one day love to visit Volgograd and its museum, Verdun, Berlin, See Reichstag, Gallipoli Peninsula, and the list goes on xd
Take a shot every time Willy says "buddy" in a reply challenge

also, the Fitch (DD-462) and Corry (DD-463) were at Utah beach and at times “Up to within a few hundred yards of the water’s edge,” “there was every reason to hope that the enemy shore defenses might have been neutralized. Then, many of the leading craft began to come under fire from automatic weapons and artillery, which increased in volume as they approached touchdown.”
The difference was that they were positioned broadside and fought on one side, while rescuing people from the waves on the other side.
Another thing is that Red looks plain. I’m not sure if it was intentional but I feel like that made him more like he’s just another soldier and not the gruff, experienced and badass main character of call of duty.
this video reminds me in enlisted we were fighting for the monastery in the battle of moscow and i parachuted out of my plane and got in the monastery then another guy came in. Everyone else was in the last point while we were in the germans vantage point because the point was a tower near the monastery and it was me and him only. We got outside but we were shot at by the germans so I shot at them with what I had so the other guy could get to the main forces while I got him time to do that. One of my best sacrifices
damn bud that would be like an ending movie scene when the protagonist let younger one escape while he dies, I wished many players would do this in games but they all are just rushing for kills...
I don't think that this game displays a good knowledge of history more than it shows the ability to rent "Saving Private Ryan"
No, it does not. And even Saving Private Ryan got a fair amount of details wrong. I was pretty shocked when I learned about all the wrong things that were done in that film. And I'm not just typing about "Military Maneuvers" or whatever, I'm talking about well-known instances of interaction, uniforms, code words, weapon sounds and common sense the movie didn't show much of. Just... morons in uniform. Still a good movie to watch though.
an inaccuracy in the start was that the driver asked for a lighter to smoke, even though the real craft specifically said ''NO SMOKING'' on the door. still a sick game
What annoys me the most is that with the amount of historical knowledge about the war and the amount of interesting stories they could tell, corporate still manages to fumble it up with short, over-fictionalized single player campaigns (if there even is one). My childhood was the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty franchises in the PlayStation 2 era and I always kept imagining how much better games were going to be in the future... But in the end the only thing that matters is monetization and trends rather than story and experience.
In the end, these games serve as nothing more than a piece of "what could be".
hey buddy, there is no doubt they can do better than this when you look back at how good early cods were like cod 1, 2 Waw etc they were just too damn good, I hope they again peak the greatness of their cod just like they did in waw and cod 1, 2 etc.
But despite being alot of flaws in this game I think the gameplay was good and yeah the story and dialogues were really.
The fact they added plastic on the guns against the water is insane tho
not gonna lie but Jan Smuts deserves more recognition for his role in WW2, not only was he the field marshal of the british army but Winston Churchill's personal advisor that helped him plan Operation Overlord and many other strategic battles that would help the allies win WW2
I really thought WW2 games were just simply avoiding bullets and some shootings. This game put so much detail to that
When I played this game and played it over time again I noticed how one destroyer was to close to the beach and I thought how is that ship hasn’t run aground
lol really buddy, never noticed it though, maybe I was too busy seeing soldiers getting massacred to German Machine guns, will surely check see how close they are to the beach.
I cant recall completely but I believe in the mission you can see Shermans with deep wading gear which is pretty cool attention to detail
7:52 I still do not understand why you swapped a perfectly good on ammo m1 garand and an m1911 I went through the whole level just using those two alone
haha buddy, I was just making sure I try every gun XD
I remember playing this when i was very young, it struck me because it was the first story driven campaign i ever played (besides WAW) and you can imagine how 8 year old me reacted to Turners death
imagine just dropping in the middle of a contested beach, upon lowering the ramp you are greeted with the sight of decapitated comrades and people getting cut in half in a milisecond from the mg-34 and seeing the cries of help and agony of people that survived.
and whoever have witnessed this scene I Think they will be haunted by these scenes for the rest if their lives, this will change their personality and their views on life forever.

Their were tanks during the battle of Normandy but the 12 SS Panzer division was still on rout but the armor was more focused in the north with the British and candied forces the only armor the Americans faced were panthers and panzer 4s the British and Canadien forces had to deal with some of Germans biggest cats such as the tiger 1 ausf E and king tiger ausf H and panthers and panzer 4s
correct me if I am wrong, please, but these German armored unit came in contact with British and Canadian forces after beachhead, when German high command became assured that that's the major allied offensive.
@@willysillyplays You're correct. After the initial landing, there was still a lot of bickering back and forth within German high command about whether or not the landings in Normandy were a diversionary landing or a committed invasion attempt. Hitler most notably believed that the real landing would still come from Pas de Calais, and it was only when the allies had made decent headway from the beaches and linked up that he eventually allowed the commitment of armored units.
@@willysillyplays I forgot the 12th SS panzer division attacked the Canadian and British beaches to contain it by driving their tank to the beach but didn’t end well British tanks were on the right flank and picked them off but some of the panzers made it to the beach and fell back and didn’t attack them again so they drove from the city of Caen to Juno and gold

At 11:35 this is a historically accurate event. Allies weren't given knifes and had to use grenades instead.
ahaha you guys got me there for sure XD
also the unforgiving ammount of field caps and trench coats with ppsh41s in the mission along with allied armor in the first wave:
Ok. What? The inaccuracies in this game are through the roof. 1. Smoking on the landing craft was against fire regulations on board. 2. Destroyed Vehicles are clearly visible on the beach yet this is supposedly the 1st attacking wave? 3. Vessels are way too close. Irl they were 11 miles off shore. 4. M1 garand sights look wrong. 5. A 3m tube of tnt that close would be devastating...to yourself. 6. The insignia on the German helmets, the German empire colours, was never used on helmets after 1940. 7. The us are wearing uniforms that weren't introduced until a few months after Normandy. 8. Pierson using a Thompson gun with a drum mag and grip was never used by us soldiers. 9. There is no evidence of M2 flamethrowers being used on Omaha beach. (At this point, I realise there are too many to put in 1 comment. I give up here)

For all intents and purposes, you just graduated highschool of all places. You did all your training and whatnot - And everyone who you've spent X amount of time with on a ship, just got turned into _chunks_ in front of you.
Like how do you even f•cking quantity that?
Even though it wasn't reflected in the base gameplay, what they captured in the scripted sequences really drove that home. It's do or die time, and you _best_ steady your hands enough to make it out alive.
even though theres inaccuracies in this game, COD WW2 did a better job being a WW2 theme than Vanguard especially the campaign
yeap bud, no doubt about that :)
how'd they went from this to vanguard is absolutely mind boggling
They were both bad.
nope bud, this one is way better, it has that good vibe of MOHAA and early COD's.
2:15 calling a Sgt “sir” is a good way to get yelled at😂
lol
Well the US did have d-day tanks which would have been perfect, but the waves were to unstable for them to operate in the water at that time.
Fun fact: Red Daniels was in the 2nd wave on D-Day
hey bud, but whats the prove of that?
Very interesting breakdown
Those mg42s definitely earned their nickname Hitlers buzzsaw, they were for sure saw thru allied troops like a saw
nailed it bro, German MG42 stopped not they were jammed or something, they stopped because they run out of ammo, 1300 round / minute isn't a joke.
@@willysillyplays they also only stopped bc the barrel were literally red hot and they had to put on a new one you know that thing had to spit out at least a thousand in 5 minutes too get that hot
Sad part is most of those boats never managed to get away cuz all the drivers are dead
in this hell it doesn't surprise me they didn't make it :(
@@willysillyplays or maybe they could ducked down under the wheel until the firing stops ? Least thats one of the survival methods, hope no oncoming mortar tho i doubt it could reach that far
Wonder if theres any out there for sale
Not gonna lie, wasn’t too happy when the player ditched the M1.
hey bud, sorry I actually played first time with M1 so I was looking for something new XD
@@willysillyplays Okay, that’s a bit more understandable lol. Besides that, the gameplay is still quite entertaining.
haha thanks bud, highly appreciated!
11:04 im pretty sure there is a book series on it too. I've seen it at a book fair before.
You what know what’s inaccurate about call of duty ww2’s D day, that there no tanks on the first wave, and one of the battle ships were gonna bring out the Sherman tanks and get it across to the beach but instead it sank to the bottom of the sea.
Hey bud, thanks for elaborating this is what many people pointed out, Sherman's shouldn't be on the beach in first wave as they were sunk before even landing.
the game also has german ncos carrying ppshs random destroyed trucks on the beach during the first wave, german soldiers with there helmets having 2nd reich colours, pierson with a m1928 with foregrip and drum, and for the record there is no evidence of m2 flamethrowers being used at omaha. the game has more innacuracy then accuracy
hey buddy, I think there were around 2 dozen flamethrowers, like 2 with each squad they needed flamethrowers to clear out bunkers, but very few made it to the bunkers.
@@willysillyplays there is no official record or documentationthat they were used at all on d day
the PPSHs would be somewhat accurate if the devs bothered to give them modifications to accept MP40 stick mags and fire 9x19 as there were a few that were captured, converted and Used on the Western front, but they're not only unmodified Russian variants (which is fucking stupid considering this campaign only takes place in the West) but they have the mag well from a PPS.
@@schmeegledorf and even if they had the 9x19 modification then it it would still be rare to find soldiers carrying them
@@rchow2010 rare but possible, it would be cool to see the modified variant pop up with an extremely low chance but for the devs to just shove the standard version in there simply for “variety” is just lazy.
The only thing i see wrong is the glowing shafts of light as tracers wouldnt be used on infantry
yes I agree buddy that would be like telling Germans where they need to point MG-42s.
what cod is this?
its the Call of Duty WW2 came out in probably. 2017.
I think nobody mentioned the ppsh 41 somewhere in the trenches. Probably from the Ostlegion troops around the beach
The game is good and this level is OK overall, but it's mostly if not everything leaned more on Saving Private Ryan than the real landings in Omaha, like most media that came out after 1998.
The intensity of the battle and the heavy casualities on the first wave are pretty accurate, but the geography, landmarks, defenses layout, time of the battle, and a few of the weapons are a bit off.
The best depiction of Omaha in a game is still Forgotten Hope 2
yeap bud, this game isn’t 100% historically accurate but I think it was better than what COD released recently.
Forgotten Hope 2, thanks for the suggestion bud, will give it a try.
It's surprising that this game kinda respects WW2 unlike Vanguard despite developed by the same studio.
hey buddy, this game is way better than what COD came down to Vanguard, and it has that feeling of MOHAA but with better graphics and more voice acting.
honestly I loved everything about the game wish they have included the eastern front but not what Vanguard showed but the eastern front early COD have depicted.
The pilots of the Higgins were actually British as well
yeap buddy, sadly how could they go wrong with that, but I guess it has something to do with typical American heroism of the devs.
it's war, it has no mercy, either you or them
yeap buddy, war doesn’t prove who is right but only who is left.
yeap buddy, war doesn’t prove who is right but only who is left.
I mean it's the only thing the devs actually got right in the entire game
haha yeap bud, but it does better than the shitty Vanguard lol
There's no actual clue that, there were flamethrowers fired during the d-day landing
hey buddy, but I have read somewhere that every group had 2 flamethrowers with them, which were mostly lost as the landings were really messed up but few managed to use them in clearing bunkers, will share the link if I could find it.
Too bad they got the map horribly wrong.
They didn't have giant bunkers sticking out blatantly in the front. They had machine guns in the side.
Very few games and films get this correctly
hey buddy, yes, they may have made it this to give the ordinary gamers taste of fun I guess, do you know any other game that depicts Omaha beach map correctly? I need to try it if I haven't it yet.
I think MOHAA did the same as bunkers in front etc., still not sure as it's been like a years, I haven't played MOHAA.
dont forget the paratroopers who jumped into enemy territory before d-day
Looking back at this game, I realize I judged (at least some parts of it) too harshly, this first part really shows the brutality of the war along with the Death camp scene
Yeah they really must know something I don’t since the Germans on the beach are armed with PPSH’s and revolving shotguns
I don't think there were PPSH buddy, do you have more information?
@@willysillyplaysYou’d have to ask the devs since they apparently did their research
A few PPSHs were captured and used on the Western Front, but they were converted to 9x19 and modified to take MP40 Magazines. Not only are the ones in the game unmodified versions that take Soviet Stick mags, but the PPSH in this game for some fucking reason has a PPS mag well. The devs are lazy and this game is inaccurate as hell.
Is that the Texas? She was there. They flooded her portside compartments to give the guns a little more elevation.
hey buddy, that interesting about the flooding I think thats how they added few extra degrees of vertical raise to the guns.
What game is this?
hey buddy, thats call of duty world war 2
why do they have half tracks in omaha bruh
So accurate you can even find ppsh's in the german army
may be they have been captured from the soviets on the eastern front and bought here, who knows...
The very first point comes down to 'older man with moustache gives speech' = accuracy? Especially considering you even point out it's the wrong nationality if it IS meant to be Montgomery?
ahaha hey bud, his face matches with Montgomery that's all I want to say, they may not want to add a historical accurate character that's why they came up with fictional but similar character, I guess.
No armor support? There’s a tank in the background 4:14
3:03 its so funny how the game always announces "INCOMING" when a mortar or rocket is about to hit as if the soldiers on the ground had any frame of reference when they were about to get shelled
This video just proves they’ve done WW2 so much specifically the DDay landing so much that it’s difficult to fuck it up. There’s discrepancies when it comes to guns and even certain levels are inaccurate.
Cant wait to make bbq party using m2 flamethrower
hahaha sounds fun!!!!
COD WW2 was a step in the right direction for World War 2 COD games, but Valkyrie... Valorant... is so bad I can't remember its name
hey bud, I think Valkyrie was a good movie, I know the characters could have been more German or at least had German accent, but it's a solid movie.
I wonder how the British would have faired if it was their responsibility to take the centermost beach (omaha)? Didn't Omaha have more defences than both Gold and Sword beaches combined??
that's a very good question bud, I think their armored vehicles would have minimized the casualties and would have given cover to the infantry, but I am pretty sure they would still face a lot of casualties as Omaha beach was center point of all of the beaches so it's obvious that Germans had more defenses on it as compared to other points.
it seems the bombers are flying way too low here if it’s omaha beach, not only this but there were only b24s at omaha, not b26s as depicted here. The b26s flew on utah beach and bombed parallel rather than perpendicular to the coast to avoid risking friendly fire on the ground troops. the tank obstacles and barbed wire too, appear to be all over the place, while in reality they were placed in separate sections. The landing craft were also supposed to carry way more soldiers than here, usually more or less 30 men. And finally, the layout of the bunkers and trenches seem way too intricate, large, gritty and complex compared to the reality. But thats just what ive seen that hasnt already been pointed out. Overall, cod gets the main points across alright but simply dramatizes some of the facts a bit much like saving private ryan. last note: the aperture sight of the garand is way too damn big.
