CWU 45 p replaced the MA-1 in 1977 but many pilots still used MA-1 for a while because most pilots didn't like the high slant pockets of the CWU which were actually positioned in order to prevent pilots from putting their hands in it as per regulation.

They are mixing 50 plus year old pictures of original clothes made for the military with China imports even alpha indust. Went over seas go to e bay and get orignals, just bought a brand new camo jacket from a dealer for under a 100 dollars and the jacket was made in 1999.
Concord snd Rothco made superb MA1jackets also issued to US Pilots & a great deal cheaper Made in America & Taiwan

@@ODER66MIKE Yes , The stitching - sewing - zippers ( Heavy Duty - Scoville ) were much better - had much heavier quality and the the fitting was far superior !
@@motorrebell There's deterioration to the vintage jackets tho, for example the cuffs are usually stretched or at least not as elastic and all.
@@johndou423 Right -but materials improved & Its not only Alpha that made the Original "Made in USA" jackets - There were other Official military contractors -companys such as Concord - Delta etc ,that made flight jackets with identical specs for the Military too .
