  • You can probably name an immune *cell* or two, but how many immune organs can you name? What even counts as an organ of the immune system? In this video, we'll go through the spleen, thymus, bone marrow, appendix, and lymphatic system.

    Hi, I’m Patrick. I’m a freelance science writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a master’s in clinical exercise physiology. I used to work in the clinical setting as a certified athletic trainer, physical therapy aide, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Very well explained. The appendix is supposedly an appendage left over from our ancestors that helped them in the digestion of bark from 🌳🌲🌴tree's , shrubs etc. Not sure how true it is. Great video, brought back my anatomy class in college, great memories thankyou 😊

    Physiology should be conveyed as fun as this (way more interesting than the MIT OCW). Good job dude!

      I'm relieved to hear that. I usually spend *too much* time obsessing about the visuals, and I definitely used some shortcuts in this one. Thanks for the kind words!

    Cool, I never knew what the tonsils and appendix do

    Would there also be schistocytes in the marrow? I would imagine that in the "blood-cell factory" not every cell that rolls off the conveyor belt is perfect, that there would be some defects and broken parts. 🤔

    • @Corporis
      @Corporis  Před rokem +2

      Definitely. You might actually know someone with a damaged blood cell factory if you know anyone with leukemia

    Is there a procedure for dealing with appendicitis these days that does not involve removal? I had my tonsils out in '74 and appendix out in '76, sigh....

      That's a great question, and one I don't know the answer too. I may have to consider that for a history topic
