- Quintrex Yellowfin plate boats are built seriously tough!
Watch the extensive construction process with over 80hrs of welding in each 7600HT Yellowfin model!
Built here in Australia with 6mm bottom sheets, 4mm side sheets and an internal 'Marine Core' rib structure armoured hull to ensure strength, our Yellowfin range has all the features to suit the true bluewater fisherman. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
That is the best production method, moving the piece being welded and keeping the welder stationary and comfortable. Gives me ideas !
That man's hand skill's ARE THE BUSINESS.
Hope management recognise the value of skilled tradesmen.
So true
Of cousre they do or it would all be automated
Oh, thats for sure. Im sure the company is promising him.the world. Been there. A great worker
Factory work 25/hour
Not saying the guy is bad, but once set up pulse migging is pretty easy, so long as he doesn't try to do anything stupid.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that man has welded a boat or two before... Awesome!
BOSS MAN I guess I can’t be right all the time...
Skilled craftsmanship always make it look be easier said then done didn't think you could push aluminum wire that far to long gun leads learning something everyday..
The boat moving for the outer welding is just 😘👌Great looking build.
These videos are a great show of some quality workmanship of a not cheap quality watercraft. Thanks for sharing!
That was frikkin amazing to watch!
Outstanding craftsmanship!
Its a joy to see Professionals at their craft like this, I would be proud to own a boat so well built.
Damn that's nice welding compared to many small workshops. Especially getting the boat to slide back and forth on rollers and rails for the long welds on the bottom is amazing. A very clean look.
THAT is a Huge Expensive *ANCHOR* .. WELL FABRICATED!
Awesome! What a fine Craftsman he is!🍻!!!
Awesome video, just got some ideas for my seaplane build
Great video
That guy is GOOD with that MIG!
Wish I pursued alloy boat building instead of boiler making. Bet my hands would still work good. Your guys do good work and your shop looks super clean and efficient. Thanks for the full step by step. These boats in Canada are costing 150-220k now for basic builds. If you want a fully loaded 30 foot king fisher you can expect to see a 600k price tag….😮
this guy doesn't deserve a wage ,,,, he deserves a medal .
hes built this boat on his own ,, love the step ladder , move the boat feed method too.
I’m pretty sure he’d prefer the wage... 🤔
very true , its hard to eat medals , just watched the video again that guy is good , love the prop at 2.30 ish ,
really skilled, looks great.
Outstanding skills.
I’ve been welding for close to 30 yearsWith an AWS A5.10.Never built an aluminum boat. Looks like it would be a blast
Beautiful boat
Nice work
Great music too
Nice!! Without one at the moment. My last Quinny was Great but it certainly not that flash (I left it behind in Qld.) Another one again, one day I hope!
That welder has MAD skills, worth his weight in diamonds I would imagine!
black zebra bullshit, he does. Even if he’s on “minimum wage”, that’s around $20 an hour here in Australia. A bloke with his skills and experience would be pulling down a minimum of $45-50 an hour, if not more. $10 an hour, my arse - 15 year olds at McDonalds earn more than that!!
Unless he works in the mines.
Nice job
Skilled craftsman
Perfect
Weld done!
That looks like a lot of work! No wonder boats are so expensive!
Awesome
I could pass this down to my grandchildren
Jeff is a pretty good welder.
Very good
Fantástic!!!
Bloody hell I want that welder machine
thats some weldin
I would like to see the wiring part of the build.
That welder needs to work for me... Hes awsome
It would be fun to be able to buy this as a kit.
you can, look up for cnc marine
Wow, i want to know how they combat distortion especially with such long welds
You can see that he is back stepping his welds Wich gives less chance of distortion compared to just doing straight line welds
It’s Quintrex, they don’t really bother
@@theboat-7.5airriderbuild88 watching an airrider hull getting built at the moment. And it's night and day how superior the airrider is over the quintrex. With its full interlocking stringers and ribs. On the quintrex I can't believe they weld the bottom sheets first, flip it then weld like individual piece stringers by hand placement between the ribs. Absolutely shit.
How thick is the hull? Says plate construction, did not think you could bend plate material that easily. Would love to see them bring some basic models back to state side vs the riveted tins we have.
You Aussies know how to make a tin boat! Nice! I would like to know how many linear feet of weld goes into one of these hulls.
mike underbrink A shit load...technically speaking! 😉
Probably about 3 or 4 90 pound bottles of Argon shielding gas, probably 4 or 5 kms of alloy welding wire, so 2 miles of wire?
That’s based on welding up a 16ft v nosed punt once about 15-20 years ago.
A quarter mile or more maybe
3 to 4 4.5 kg rolls of 1.2 wire and about 2 1/2 big bottles argon at 20 lpm thats for a 24 ft 5mm bottom 4mm sides 3mm cabin boat
Props to that welder. Your company isn't going to highlight your entire workflow if you're not good.
GOOOD
You must be called "man of steel"😂🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Belo trabalho.
Beautiful boat. To bad I could never afford it
WoW~~~~👍
Quintrex, what is the metal used in fabrication ?
Robots? WE DON’T NEED NO STINKING ROBOTS!!!
Сколько времени понадобилось для изготовления? И какая себистоимость лодки??
How that do welding without deformation.
What a machine use for welding ?
Where do you get your chine extrusions from?
Is this mig welding aluminum? Without a spool gun?
olá. qual material e feito está barco. e qual máquina de solda
Badass welder 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Супер!
What did that guy have on his waist? An air pack maybe?
Keel is a special bar or profile?
Give him a raise,or l will hire him.
The lack of frame depth and intermittent (non-continuous) stringers......a big no if you want a boat that will last, I would barely class this a 'plate' boat, great welding video though.
Bu teknenin cnc çizimlerini bulabilmeyi çok isterdim, aynısından yapardım
Aluminium weight?
👍👍👍👍❤
Dont see any QA checking. I have a Quintrex Coatrunner and to be honest some of the welding is second rate.
How to aply job
What mili meter plate u used to make this bot, great job..🤩🤩🤩
Hendra Gunawan - 0:36
Never heard of quintrex plate.
And people wonder why some boats are expensive
👌👍😊...
Bought a Quintrex once...nuff said! If I listed all things wrong Quintrex would just delete the comment.
Can you tell me please, and what boat do you recommend? I am about to purchase my first boat.
How long is a piece of string? I don't know what sort of boating you intend on doing. @@JohnSmith-ib1ky

@@Do-iz6qd I was really looking to get the Trident 610, but your comment has made me hesitant now.

Can't I buy boat drawings? I want to make welding myself.
Tell me HOW MUCH this unit..Thank you!!!
It's an Australian built vessel....probably $40,000AU plus motor and trailer.
Hellow bro.
I wanna make my own aluminium boat.
What aluminium sheet thickness and alloy is better for making hull?
5086 , in boat building scantlings are used , which basically means you go and look at as many boats as you can , and make a educated guess , bigger boats tend to use thicker material , boats that see rougher service tend to use thicker material , you need to be careful about not making abrupt transitions from something very stiff to something more flexible imagine that you were a giant and you grabbed the boat and started twisting and bending it , now imagine where it would crack , those are the places you need to pay a lot of attention to .
@@robertlackey7212 thnk u bro
I would like to build a boat,
Super Very super 💪 💪
It might sink
I think you could build an airplane using this process.
I hope this hull doesn't split like mine keeps doing on the center rib
Ok
That guy is skilled hope he makes bank im a welder to cheers
What welder are they using? Mig? Tig?
Jack Jordaan Mig
using argon shielding gas... a mixture of helium and argon will produce a better quality weld
Its absolutely beautiful welding! I used to be a welder but never seen one set up like that!

Where's the floatation? Relying on air lock once the floors down. What if you get a hole, she sinks?
All boat sink if they get a hole . the way boats work is by displacing more water than the weight of the boat . this boat may weigh 2 ton but displace 4 to 5 ton of water weight .
@@clintpuddister7257 incorrect, level floatation if done right allows you to bail out and get going again. PU closed cell foam filled cavities do not allow water to enter the hull even with a hole.
Hi, I have an interest in your project. Where I can take the project drawing if it posible for me
How much you paying that dude for ALL that WORK!? 🤔
Not enough most likely
Why don't Quintrex provide the apprentice with an adflo respirator as well instead of the crappy disposables
???🇧🇷😵
suprised no reveal whats the point of the video feeling cheated must not want to sell boats...
For the 1000 videos on CZcams saying that mig welding aluminium isn’t ideal.........really?
Quintrex = Crack'N'flex
I wouldn't want to be his eyeballs after 5 to 7 yrs of that much bare wire welding I wear my sunglasses at night with quarter the welding I guess u only live once.
No respirators, turn a solid into a gas then inhale it cool and turns back into a solid.
Boycott that boat builder until they start treating there staff properly
Main welder did but the apprentice had disposables. Likely the main welder probably bought his own adflo system. I agree there shit heads for not sorting out the apprentice
Still no foam. What a joke. Only meets Inland rivers. Wonder what BS weight you'll stamp on it.
Only recently i borrowed a hornet trophy 435, i had some concerns and ended up weighing it at 514kg with no fuel. Supposedly you can put 4 people /400kg in it! By my calculations you would be lucky to have one person with gear or two people without even a fishing rod.
So if i took the manufacturer weight and tried to tow this with a Hyundai, cause supposedly your within limits, then have an accident and have everything weighed to find out your over weight!
The early hornet I tested wouldn't even meet basic floatation and would sink. I don't actually think Quintrex knows how to perform displacement calculations.
When the boats are unbalanced then your centre of bouancy shifts, you guys don't design this in. You only need year 11 physics to work it out.
I worked this out after putting my family in this boat with gear at 270kg. We had water lapping in at the top sump plug. We shifted weight forward and slightly improved but not enough for me to launch off the Jetty. I took my family out of the boat and put it back on the trailer. And went and performed my own calculations as described above.
These things are a death trap, especially in tropical waters with crocs and large tidal systems up north.
I wouldn't by an aluminium boat with a short shaft, the displacement can never meet the design loads with any safety factor greater than 2. Basic floatation safety factor is 5.
I'm extremely disappointed that my life and that of my families was compromised because I trusted the build plate.
Please anyone reading, make your kids finish year 12, maths & physics is important.
Dogshit hulls. Surfboards float better.
