  • Watch my flat mount conversion process using Starmount Systems flat mount. 3 Pro Tips 💪 1. Sand extra, otherwise it wont fit flush inside the case and you will need to sand more. 2. Have compressed air to blow away all the little white bits and wear n95. 3. Don't put on too much glue inside around the port or the dish wont fit flush. And put some glue around the outside port for extra waterproofing.
I have been using Starlink for 9 months with it temporarily mounted to the Starlink roof mount on the roof deck of my campervan. I did not drive at highway speeds with the dish mounted and would take it up and down at various locations. Because of the process takes a few minutes I would not put it up all the time. With flat mounting it will be up all the time and I will get more usage of Starlink and more speed combined with my cellular bonding.
Inside the van I am using DC powered POE for the Starlink and it is connected over ethernet into my Peplink BR2 Pro. (I do not use the starlink router)
My next task will be to mount it on to my roof deck and run the wire into the van.
