i dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Graham Bodie thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Graham Bodie It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you really help me out :D
I struggled for hours and then u were here and u saved me
Haha, nice comment :) thanks, glad I could help. What were you struggling with?
Just finished watching thanks for the info also had great fun yesterday :)
Thanks for playing H.
@@TootXB no problem T
The black and red looks way better :)
THanks for the video. Mine is already out of warranty so I need to repare it myself. And this will help a lot. Cheers!
No problem and good luck with the change. Note that when you put the ribbon cables back in place there is a little lever that lifts up and pushes down to let you remove it and secure it back in place. its the little black strip that covers the ribbon where it connects to the circuit board.
It reminds me of Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
i just customized my elite controller and i love it thanks for helping i was really frustrated thanks Great video!
No problem. Glad it could help. Do you have any pictures anywhere of what you did?
@@TootXB I sent some pictures on insta
Got it and replied :) looks nice, good job 👍
TootXB thanks
This was a pretty cool build. I would suggest taking the batter sticker off. The reason being is that when you put the screws into place. The sticker could get caught in the threads and make any further repairs very difficult
Good tip. Thanks 👍
First off i would like to say thank you and i appreciate your video in so many way with me recently buying an elite controller from a friend who had a small drift problem i was able to fix it with the use of this video iv never taken apart an controller let alone an elite but yet you made it easy for me he had two faulty sensors in the right analog and i replaced them with and old one i had ripped open it was a struggle but a blast learning as well i appreciate the experience more than anything and thank god i have a working elite now🤙🏾😂
Hey Shaolin. Glad I could help, it’s great to hear a positive story :) the Elite is awesome and the issues people have with them (stick drift for example) are actually common among all Xbox controllers anyway (I have stick drift in a Razer wolverine). I hope you enjoy it.
@@TootXB i will chief thank you again
Bro, huge thank u! Ive had an ice blue button and trigger kit for months now just sitting there not doing anything cause I didnt wana take the chance of soldering the rumbles back in. Every video I've watched said u HAVE to solder the wires. I wanted to try but was scared cause I never seen it before. It's awesome to see a video showing u can do this without soldering. Gona give it a go tonight. Thanks again man
Haha, no problem. There is no way I would be soldering either and it’s the only reason I did this. It’s easier to do it to a standard controller without removing rumbles than it is to do the elite but it’s definitely possible as you have found out :)
Have you done the mod yet? I’d love to see pictures if you have any 👍
Nice vid, stripped and cleaned faulty B button and working fine, nice see what goes where before hand
Glad I could help :)
Good job it looks great, personally I couldn't take my elite apart like that I would crap myself thinking i would break it.
I was terrified! It was an older, out of warranty elite though and not the one I use every day so I wasn’t too worried. I would have been really sad if I broke it but not as sad as I would have been if it was my only controller.
Thanks for a brilliant guide helped me out a lot with customizing mine, liked and subbed thanks again man!
Glad I could help :) Is there any way you can share pics of what you have done? Always cool to see what people come up with.
@@TootXB yeah I did similar to yours but kept the black faceplate, I also had the red buttons but when I used it they were not as responsive so went back to the black ones which I think looks pretty cool anyway off setting the red lol
@@TootXB I'm trying to put a pic of it on but can't work out how lol.
agreed on the offsetting. I mainly went this way with this controller because I wanted to change everything. With my Blue Elite I'm considering going to a black faceplate with red accents which sounds pretty much what you have done.
@@TootXB yeah that's exactly what I did, everything on mine is black but have red d-pad, start/back buttons, triggers and bumpers with the red xbox light, it looks sweet mate
Very good detailed video I would never have thought i could take the controller all apart but I did and fixed it by cleaning it from dropping soda on it it works better now
Glad you sorted it out and thanks :) what was the solution to fixing it?
@@TootXB I cleaned it and used other parts from controller
Glad it’s all sorted.
I left a liked, and subbed, for the video.
Hey, thanks Madmax :) much appreciated 👍
Great video mate 👍
Thanks 👍
I am planning on taking apart my Elite Controller with a Transparent Green look. So far, I have the buttons ordered. I will be using this video as my guide. I was wondering where you got the acetate from to change the colour of the light
I got them from Amazon. Here is a link for the UK version > www.amazon.co.uk/eXtremeRate-Custom-Button-Stickers-Controller/dp/B07DFDWRFM
I really use it for trigger and dead zone settings in the app, but this setup will give you a idea of what elite controllers can do an how it can change gameplay.
What setup? I'm confused :(
Aww My fault I thought this was the recoil less mod pack version😆 Nice custom👍
NP, that explains it :) thanks 👌
I got all these replacement parts coming in to redo my elite cause my brother somewhat messed up the buttons and lost my sticks, but watching this made me realize I have no idea what I'm getting into lol
Haha, once you do it once it’s a pretty small task. But to do it for the first time on your own controller is huge as you don’t want to break it.
thank! managed to clean the face buttons without much stress. though i did scuff the grips when i tried to peel them off
Nice work!
I ordered new buttons, analog rings and the tool kit. Watched this video, I’ll probably just send it all back lol. Wow.
Its not straightforward, thats for sure.
Controller looks great! Did you get the kit as a whole bundle or bits at different places, looking for the thumb sticks can’t find them lol
Hi. The thumbsticks were bought separately. All the buttons were a set. Here is the link for the sticks. You get 4 different colours in the pack. amzn.to/2NHE7ah
Thanks btw :) I like it.
Another way to be able to peel the sticker off and I have found it makes it a lot easier is to heat the sticker up with a hair dryer then peel it to where you have access to the screw and once done push it back down and heat hup the sticker again but this time push the sticker down so it sticks better than just pushing it with out the heat
Good tip. This is also how you remove car manufacturer badges form the back of a car :)
Def scared taking my elite apart. It’s a couple years old and man is it sketch ! Thanks !
Its scary stuff until you get used to it.
looks really nice!!
Thanks 😀
Toot I don’t know if you remember me from your opening up an elite video but I just bought a whole kit. Anyways at school I fix people controllers and such. I only do Xbox because PS4 is too hard for me to open. Also if I ever took apart my Elite I would remove the rumble motors because I hate the rumble. I know I can turn it off but just to be sure.
i can understand the rumbles for weight if weight is a real issue. I personally like rumble. i don't know why, just something feels wrong without it. I would probably get used to it though...
I got my elite controller for $90 second hand missing the rubber off the side grips :) I took it apart right down to the ground and cleaned ever single part and then rebuilt it :) I never buy new anything lol. I got my Xbox one for $200 and fixed it up also. Only thing I have changed so far on my elite is I put in plastic pink thumbsticks as the metal ones don't really work for my style of game play as their so heavy they bounce back and register a opposite direction movement. The plastic sticks are lighter and don't have that issue. Now I am just waiting for replacement side grips, a baby pink faceplate, silver thumb sticks, and a new set of paddles. It's gonna be awesome. I change things alot my original xbox one controller is pink/black and has xbox 360 buttons ;)
Oh btw it cost $90NZD so cost about $50USD for comparison :)
Sounds cool. Never thought about the stick weight thing... My thumb movements are quite heavy so I think stiff/heavy stick resistance is better for me.
Thanks for commenting :)
@@TootXB I do wish I could keep the heavier sticks :( It was mostly causing problems for me navigating menus in minecraft :'(
Sad times. elite 2 all the way with the adjustable tension ;)
@@TootXB :/ I didn't actually know that lol. But I can't complain too much I think, Once my mine is complete it'll have cost me half the price of an elite 2 anyway
This man has balls of steel
It was a terrifying experience!
What size screwdriver do you need to take the circuit boards off? The T8 is too large and am unsure what size to get for that
T6 is the usual size.
I have I don't know how the oldest video is I'm watching it in September 2020 20 and I have both the elite 1 and 2 and my side faceplates the rubber start coming outside to replace them and the back part of rubber starting to come off where are your fingers would sit and you would hit the back triggers so I need help on that what to do I haven't seen any replacement parts for that if you could please respond I would love to hear what you recommend I do on that part. Thank you very much!
i don't think you can buy underside grips, i never found any. You would have to buy the whole backplate.
The ribbon cable at the rear has a little clip that lifts and allows the cable to slide in and out without having to pull at it.
#educated I didn’t even see that. Thanks man :)
@@TootXB no probs, i dismantled mine last night to fix the dpad and noticed it!
Wish I'd read this comment beforehand. Ended up snapping the ribbon cable
Everything is good but when you pull the ribbon a little black part on the connector lifts up. If you pull it without it, it will be difficult and you have the chance of tearing the contacts
Yeah, I miss that in the video. There is a little lever you can pull up to release. Makes it easier to push the cable back in 👍
saved me m8
Serious questions: i only intend to change the faceplate and replace a damaged trigger. Can i do that as soon as i reveal the circuit borard?
Yes, you don’t need to do anything other than take off the front and pull the controller out of the rear housing in order to change the trigger.
How would you go about removing the rumbles? Is it as simple as pulling off the wires and not having to solder anything? Also do you think there are any other things you can do to reduce the weight?
To get the rumbles off you just need to pull off the wires, yes. You only need to solder if you want to put them back :) to be safe you may want to do something with the ends of the wires to ensure they don’t contact the circuit board and damage anything when signals are sent to the rumbles.
As for reducing weight... I’d be reluctant to remove anything to be honest. There isn’t anything in there you could remove as it’s all vital and attached to the circuit boards. Rumbles are the only things I would suggest. You could take out the headphone jack but it is lighter than a butterfly so little point in that.
@@TootXB Thanks for the reply.
Very nice custom
Thanks 👍
Where can you get the guide button color? Or did you make your own?
I bought mine from Amazon. I am guessing you are in the US, here is a link for them: amzn.to/2FZG0K5
You get loads which is why they are more expensive than you would think. You could probably make your own by cutting shapes out of a sheet of acetate/acrylic...
I’m really struggling to get the connector back in. I disconnected the one from the circuit board and can’t get it back in
@Toot XB I only want to change the faceplate and buttons, do I have to do everything there?
The faceplate is simple, you just take out the grips and screws then swap it. To change the buttons you will need to remove the circuit board. You don’t need to take out the bumpers and triggers though.
I have a question can we just switch the thumb sticks and and the Xbox button cover
Yes, sure.
I would try but my controller wud never work again if I tried🤣
Thats the fear I had too when I did it. Thats why I have the shaky hands in the video :)
TootXB I was shaking like that when I built my computer haha! Great vid. Probably won’t attempt besides faceplate lol.
It’s stressful stuff!
😂
Just get the right tools to open it nothing to worry about I use to open my all the time. Still wanting to RIP the xbox one it self apart but i part to much to take an hour out of game time lol
Anywhere I can get a black bottom shell for the elite controller I've looked all over Amazon and couldn't find one for the elite controller.
I wish these were easy to find but they are not :(
Ive done my Elite controller in Soft touch red, and Gold. Not the Chrome gold But have Matt Gold accent rings Bumper buttons, And metal Gold Elite replacement button and thumb controller set. I also swapped out the rear panel for a standard panel cos the rubbers on mine fell off and look crap. So can also use replacement grip parts which is in soft red too. The triggers are stock. And replaced the Paddles with a Aftermarket Mod pack. Coupled with the CronosMax Script module. All these enhance the Elite controller where the failure points are. E.g rubber falling off, Paddles falling off in game play. Which was somewhat annoying. Rapid fire and Mod scripts Basically replaces the need for a Mod chip. So All this cost about the price of a New controller and completely revived it. I wouldent use cheap Chome buttons they fade after a month or so. Unless really good quality ones. Another good button mod is the Bullet style buttons. there metal and dont fade. They also stick out a bit further which actually speeds up pressing them worthwhile mod and feels and looks Epic..
I did consider the bullet buttons but struggled to find a design that they really fitted in with. Sounds good, can we see pictures of your mods?
This looks like the most stressful thing I could do in my life
It most definitely is!
My controller looks good now and works but now my headphone jack doesn’t work any advice? 😂
Hmm, my only thought is that you put it in the wrong way round. The connectors have to be facing the back of the controller if I remember rightly. There is one side with about 8 little gold bits, those should face the back.
TootXB it’s all fixed now thanks so much for your help!!
Phew :) no problem. Do you have pics of your new look controller?
i replaced the jack pluck unit but is very loose and crackles when headphones in use ,how can i make the unit more secure so it doest move? Also i had a small part inside my controller loose but cannot seem to identify it? can i send you a picture of part please?
Sure. I have Instagram. I may not know what it is though as I have only taken a controller apart for this video really, I don’t know all the components. The headphone jack might just need reseating. If the circuit boards aren’t properly in place I would imagine that would make it loose.
After all the videos I watched this was the best and simplest one than you .
Hey, thanks for the comment :) if you do something like this send me a link so I can see the finished product 👍
Would I have to take it all the way apart like this just for the triggers and bumpers
Hi. You don’t need to remove the circuit boards to just do the triggers and bumpers. You do need to take the back of the controller off though.
Hey ToolXB, I was wondering where you got your faceplate kit. I want to replace my faceplate, and I cant find any kits.
I bought all of the bits from Amazon.
Search extremerate Xbox one/elite on amazon or ebay
Is that the ExtremeRate brand? I have series 1 elite and I want a new faceplate but I read 98% bad reviews for ExtremeRate....
It is extremerate and I have no issue with it right now. I have another faceplate for them that I will be doing a video on shortly.
Would opening up a elite controller and replace the thumb sticks. Would this fix a right stick drift. (Right stick always drifting up)
Depends on the cause. It could be the stick itself or the motor type thing under it. You can buy replacements for both pretty cheap so it’s worth a try. There is a video somewhere on CZcams explaining how to fix it without taking a controller apart but I can’t remember the name of it. It would only be a temp fix though that you would have to every week or so if I remember rightly.
czcams.com/video/YsYdyNE66to/video.html
Sorry, Madmax's link got blocked as spam. I have now unblocked it, hopefully the video helps you.
14:50 there is a little black switch that you have to pull up on the way he is doing is going to mess up the ribbon strip
Yes, pull the strip. In my case for this video it did not damage the strip. I did later add a pinned comment about this.
Can i use buttons from a normal xbox controller and put them on my elite or are they different?
The buttons are exactly the same so yes, you can use the ones from a normal controller.
where did you get all the parts ca you provide the links
Hi. I replied to this but its not showing for some reason. I added the amazon links to the pinned comment on the video :)
If you paint the controller paddles and back triggers will it damage the magnet?
With thin paint probably not. Don’t take my word for it, I don’t know. But if you want to try it I guess modelling paint would be the best choice (the kind of paint that people paint little action figures).
TootXB Ok thanks for answering, I’ll do my research.
Let me know how you get on!
I screwed up big time the rubber part that falls out messed up everything and I noticed one of the grey wires were dangling it was a nice home project attempt but I’ll stick to working on cars 😂
In answer to your other comment I removed screws. There are at least 2 I’d I remember rightly. When you say rubber part do you mean a rumble motor? They have a grey wire and I have had one break off before. You just need to resolder it back to the circuit board.
So sleek!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m happy with it. This has kind of become Mrs Toot’s controller.
My bumpers get jammed almost as it seems and idk what the issue is, not to mention when i tried to see if everything else went fine besides the bumpers, the controller wigged out and is currently un-usable. I'm going to keep trying with it but if i could get any help that'd be great
Hi. Just seen this. Its difficult to hep to be honest as you kind of need to see what you are doing.
@@TootXB Don't worry about it, i just said screw it and bought an elite 2😂
Good move.
Do you have a link to buy this stuff you used
Hi. I thought I had a pinned post with this information in. Turns out I don't...
I don't know where in the world you are but here are links to where I bought the parts in the UK. I you aren't in the UK, I basically bought everything from Amazon anyway. Usually when you buy the parts you get all the tools you need with them.
UK Faceplate - amzn.to/2OSzYwZ
UK Thumbsticks - amzn.to/2NHE7ah
UK Accents - amzn.to/2NGsf8x
UK Button Set - amzn.to/2DufWYi
I replaced my a, b, x, y buttons. Had a sticky b button. Turned out it wasn’t the button, it was the clicker or the rubber at the back of it that was the problem. What do I buy to fix it?
I'm not sure :(
any mods for the back without rubber grips? i want a entire plastic controller
I don’t know to be honest, I didn’t look. I am not convinced that the standard grip is the same as the elite grip though I don’t see why it would be different. If not you could just pick up a set of standard aftermarket grips. Check amazon or eBay 👍
@@TootXB thanks for the answer. the grips clips are not the same, as i have tried my original grips from my other controller. But the side grips are only 50% of the solution. to get all the rubber away, i need a full backplate aswell. i actually feel like im the only one in the world who wants this. cant find any info or mod for it :\
Ok, I suspected they were different. I have only seen oem, scuf or other rubbery grips for the Elite. Yeah, you can change them but you still need to replace the smaller rubber bits as they peel away too. I have never seen a replacement back plate and you would definitely have a hard time modifying a standard one. Not something I would try.
@@TootXB jepp i thought so. i just have to wait and hope that microsoft will announce an elite controller without any rubber
fun 😤 used the red kit from this video, now my Y button doesn’t work, my lb and Rb button doesn’t work😭 and the controller isn’t connecting to the xbox :( any help?
It sounds like you didn't put it all back together most likely. The Y button may not be seated correctly. Check the buttons before you put the case back together to save effort with taking it apart if you find an issue.
For regular xbox faceplates.. How do you drill a hole for the profile switch?
Why would you need to? Do you mean taking a standard faceplate and putting it on an Elite?
@@TootXB I'm fairly certain that's what he means
Then I would recommend against it :)
@@TootXB I've tried this actually. The only difference between the shells is the hole for the switch. Its fairly easy to make a drill template with masking tape and sharpie.
Oh yeah, I’m sure if you have the skill it’s easy :) I just don’t think I would recommend it personally. I would rather just sacrifice the profile switch.
great vid bro..... I've been modding electronics for 17 yrs but I'm thinking about giving my elite controller a makeover myself...the controller grips really suck due to the fact they glued on and eventually come off....so I think ima give it ago myself and just changing everything on it 😁
I look forward to seeing what you come up with :)
Thanks brah
i did a mod on my standard controller and the rumble wires un-soldered
:( It can happen, its delicate equipment. If it does happen you can just re-solder it on and it will work again.
It doesn't really matter to me because same thing happened to me but I usually just turn off vibration
Bro the ribbon somehow the plastic part broke and it just went mad from there, im pissed
If u can help me find a new one or someting
Edit. Found out the ribbon is only for the paddles and so i can technically play without them
:( sorry to hear. It’s a very delicate piece of equipment. You may be able to get spares for that on eBay.
Hey, you alive out there..... man I need advice? I own 3 Elite Controllers 1) a pro set-up programmed elite that's quick fire and all
that jazz for combat. 1 hour of use. I didn't like it. I need help to fix my other 2 Elites. 1 had the grips start peeling off/coming
up at the seams. My newest elite is losing the turning function in the left orbit. I want to put new obits in them to totally upgrade
b/c I don't want to buy another one..... Are their any after market complete orbits that can go into the Elite or do I have to buy
their upgrade replacement stuff? I'm sorry to ask all of this but I've got $500 bucks worth in 3 controllers & I need good into
from someone who knows what's UP? can ya steer me in the right direction? peace
Ok, I don’t actually know what an orbit is. I’m assuming it’s the mechanism that the thumbstick sits on. If so, you can buy aftermarket ones for putting into controllers and I believe they are universal so would work in a Scuf, elite or any other Xbox controller. For the grips, you can get aftermarket ones from Scuf or eXtremeRate on Amazon but this is only the outer grips. The ones closer to the backplate are not replaceable unless you replace the backplate itself I think.
@@TootXB ~ Yeah, I was calling the whole "Ball Socket" an Orbit for lack of the proper term & I had hoped that it was
more mechanical meaning a more sturdy heavier "Joint" like I've seen in Radio Controls for Drones applications but
I just saw the piece & I hope someone near me can fix it for reasonable prices? Is there are "reasonable" amount I
should expect for someone to open up & replace these? I'll know the parts prices after I look but what is your
opinion on "LABOR" costs based on time? How long would it take & what do you think is a good price?
And I don't mind spending the money or I wouldn't have 2 Elites & 1 modded Elite(never used haha)?
I thAnk you, subbed/thumbed Up..... peace
@@diggydice9041 You can reattach the rubber grips with cyanoacrylate super glue if your careful and don't use too much and are patient to hold it while it sets. I've reattached the inside rubber grips on my controller in that way. As long as you spread the tension evenly so the rubber doesn't bunch up you can't even tell anything is different. Couldn't do it with the outside grips as they were missing from my controller when I got it :(
Nice tip
Is there a link for all the items?
Jason Qiao there are links in the pinned comment.
Is there a way to replace the trigger buttons to bumpers?
I don’t believe so, no.
Sorry, following on from Dat Henry’s comment, I was only thinking of hardware! Of course you can remap using the Xbox accessories software. You can do this with a standard controller also.
The downside to this is that pressure sensitivity of the triggers would be pretty useless. For example mapping fire weapon to a number is fine. But if you play racing games then you will struggle accelerating with a bumper.
Good point, added a comment. I was too focussed on hardware swapping when I answered :)
I change the white to black but still have the red accents like the red and black looks way better
Black and red is nice for the controller. I just wanted to make a complete change rather than a subtle change. My blue controller soft finish is peeling away. I may go black with some accents for that soon.
Could I do this with the series 2
Yes but I don't know how yet as I haven't taken mine apart plus there aren't loads of aftermarket parts around yet I don't think.
I have an urgent question I woke up this morning to find out my left trigger is unresponsive I’ve tried updating and restoring to default please respond and help!!
To be honest, I don't know what to suggest other than opening it up, squeezing the trigger and ensuring its pressing what its supposed to press inside the controller. Only if its out of warranty though. If everything inside looks fine then it may be a circuitry problem.
Lol I’m still trying to find the t head screwdriver with the hole in the middle
:)
Wait the warranties only 90 days right? So it won’t even matter if you take it off
Depends where you are. In the UK/Europe all consumer products come with a minimum guarantee of 12 months.
Where did you buy the bumpers from?
I bought everything from Amazon. Links in the description/pinned comment.
There is no pinned comment and am unable to see the links within the description 😢
Dammit CZcams. Things keep disappearing and I can’t find it either. Here are the links... when I get home I will re-update the description and check for a pinned comment. Thanks for letting me know.
Elite Parts
UK Faceplate - amzn.to/2OSzYwZ
UK Thumbsticks - amzn.to/2NHE7ah
UK Accents - amzn.to/2NGsf8x
UK Button Set - amzn.to/2DufWYi
So I plan on taking apart an elite controller and replacing it with the sea of thieves limited edition controller shell, XYBA buttons, home button, right trigger and guide buttons. Are their any issues with this or is it possible to use parts from old controllers. Also I could care less about the profile button or the elite D pad.
You can use parts from other controllers. I can’t guarantee that a standard faceplate will fit an Elites he face buttons are the same and I think the guide button is the same. Triggers may be the same but I’m not sure.
i took off inner rubber grips can i get these replaced
I have never seen inner grips anywhere for controllers unfortunately.
how do you put the ribbon cable back in,with a tool?thanks
Hi. There is a little clip where the ribbon cable attaches. If you pull the tiny clip, it will allow you to slide the cable back in. You then push the clip back into place to hold the ribbon cable where it’s supposed to be.
@@TootXB Hi,thanks for the response.do you pull the clip towards the cable?thanks
Good question, I can't remember... Probably pull away to open it and pull it towards the cable to lock it in. It will be obvious when you see it.
I can’t get the connector back in
How do I fix the double clicking on the bumpers
Good question, its not an issue I have experienced so I cannot advise :(
what glue is he on about at 4:01 ?
I forget what I was told about. Sorry for late reply, for some reason this didn't pop up in my feed.
Can I FIX MY ELITE CONTROLLER WITH A STANDARD XBOX ONE CONTROLLER? I MISS MY ELITE :(
Is there anyway you can put a link in the description
A link for what?
Nevermind
? Happy to link something, I just need to know what needs to be linked.
No it's fine I got confused for a minute
Ah, ok 👍
I would not do this but I took my elite apart with a normal flat head it was small but I did it I would not recommend using the flat head
No, you will end up damaging the screwheads eventually.
I did it
How did you resolve it? Sorry for late reply :(
He man my A button is sticky any thing I could do to fix it
Sticky after doing some changes or just sticky in you original controller? You could open it up and take the button out to check that it’s clean and doesn’t have any gunk anywhere.
i want ask u is elite grip work on xbox one ??
Hi. I’m not sure what your question is. Do you mean can you put elite grips on a standard controller? If that’s what you mean then I think the answer is no.

For the longest time even with a broken bumper I was like nah I’m not taking it apart, did it today, scared me a little bit when the RB was frozen but after stretching it a bit the controller is like new, repair cost me 2.94$ and 45 minutes of my time
Good to hear it worked out :) Taking a controller apart is scary but not so bad once you get used to it.
ill give you 25 quid to do it to my controller and ill pay for the bits too, you de expert man,,,
Haha, no :) It is a lot of work and if I broke it I could not live with myself.
The small ribbon cable just won't stay in place after I removed it, what the heck.
Sorry for late reply. Did you lift up the little clasp first and push the cable in fully then push the clasp back down?
@@TootXB Yeah, unfortunately none of the videos I had seen mentioned the little clasp and I ended up damaging the cable. Bought another one so no biggie.
@@jstar2235 sorry, it was the one thing I missed in the tutorial :(
I can't get the bumpers in right, any help?
i have only just seen this! DId you manage it? They are fiddly :(
Same problem here :/ Mine get jammed almost as it seems and idk what the issue is, not to mention when i tried to see if everything else went fine besides the bumpers, the controller wigged out and is currently un-usable. I'm going to keep trying with it but if i could get any help that'd be great
@@TootXB I couldn't get it and then the attachment black strip separated.
um, my left joystick drift to the top, how can i repair that
There is a video somewhere on CZcams explaining how to fix drift which I think is basically opening the controller and giving the stick modules a clean. It’s likely to reoccur though.
Alternatively, you can buy replacement stick modules for fairly cheap. eXtremeRate have started selling drift fix kits which I have not tried. You can find those at this link > extremerate.com/products/drifix-thumbsticks-drift-fix-repair-kit-for-xbox-series-x-s-controller-model-1914-custom-analog-stick-joystick-regulator-circuit-board-for-xbox-core-controller-x3md002
Hey toot, so the buttons in the back are only one circut board
That is correct.
I need to take line apart to figure out why the heck my person always looks down when I'm not pressing anything. 😂
When you get it open, it’s probably the sensors in the side of the thumbstick mechanism. There are some good vids out there showing how to swap these sensors.
I would do this but I'm too scared to break my controller gonna get my cousin to do it with me
Haha, it is a scary thought when you think about doing this :)
@@TootXB decided not to because as u said it takes away the premium feel cuz Ur just putting cheap stuff on it
Fair enough, I understand. Although I like the changes I made, it certainly feels a little different to a standard Elite in terms of quality.
@@TootXB yea the controller looks sick af u did an amazing job of it
Thanks :)
Can’t get either of them to go back in, it’s impossible, they’re too flimsy
Nice but can u get someone to professionally do that for you
There are places that would do this. No idea where you would find them though.
Just go on a website where u can make them custom
Dudes hands shook as much as mine doing this
It’s a stressful process! What changes did you make to yours?
@@TootXB I replaced the abxy buttons with metal alloy 9mm luger casings, and added the color sticker to change the home button color, and also changed my accent rings and profile switch with gold ones
If these are ELITE Controller's and we pay about £150, why is it that my left Joystick is now drifting. I only paid to money as I thought I was getting something that had metal parts rather than plastic inside as I was warned that the cheaper £50 controller does not last that long because they are made with less durable parts. My elite is drifting and I was told to buy another one
There is a video somewhere explaining how to fix it without taking the controller apart. All controllers are at risk of this issue. I have a Razer Wolverine that does it too.
so i could put Bluetooth in a 2014 controller
Erm... maybe but probably very difficult and not worth trying.
Why did you down grade the elite controller?? Like you took the nice dpad and the nice joysticks and put in shitty offbrand parts also why the hell would you put glue in your controller bro
As an example of what you can do. The glue was harmless and had no choice due to the break in the part.
Damned... i just deleted my Instagram account 😅. Cant share my creations.
:(
u almost break the clip ... lool
Yeah, there are some things I nearly broke I think. Did ok for a first time though.
@@TootXB Yes u did. :)
Super informative video, but my god are your hands shaky! I’ve never been motion sick before, but this had me getting nauseous.
Thanks I guess
Warranty HA !! I live in the caribbean and can never return anything purchased in the US ...... that’s the way of life living outside the US !
US warranties aren't that great from what I hear anyway. In Europe warranties are good. Sorry to hear your pain :(
To be honest I was on vacation in Manhattan and a new gears of war Xbox disc was not working , took it back to the GameStop and they changed it without even checking it ..... but that was only because I was in the US
