Scout GPS does not give you traffic updates. Apple maps diverts path based on current traffic conditions. Also, if you don't want to pay a monthly fee for Scout, don't keep your car more than three years. Also,Remote services is free only for one year. (Maybe six months, not sure).Remote start should be a free service Provided on the fob, like Honda. Going to the app on your smart phone to Start the car is annoying.
No Apple or Android carplay. Bad move by Toyota.

Scout prompted me to install the Toyota app (which I did), then scroll down in the toyota app and connect to scout. The problem is, the only app it allows me to connect to is Alexa. I recently purchased a 2019 Camry which comes standard with Apple CarPlay. Unfortunately I hate apple and I'm a android user but still no android auto. However I've had issues but I'm getting used to entune 3.0 and it's not as bad as people think. If you're having issues with the scout GPS system when plugging it in here's some simple things to keep in mind. Uninstall the app and start over. Once you reinstall it follow the instructions as they come along. When you get to section where it asks you for which vehicle are you using Toyota or Lexus don't select either of them but instead select the phone only option. After following the rest of the instructions you should fine and the GPS maps will work fine once you plug in the USB cable. Always make sure that your wifi is off while using the Scout GPS system or you'll get constantly disconnected from the app which is very annoying. Once I started using it that way I've had no issues or communication errors. The Scout GPS itself isn't the greatest nor does it work as good as Google maps or Waze but it'll get the job done and it'll look like you actually have navigation in car Lol... The app itself needs a major update in my opinion to be trusted so until then I still use Google maps on my phone while Scout GPS is running on my car screen Lmao Don't solely rely on the Scout GPS app to get you to your destination because it still doesn't know shortcuts or have any traffic updates which will have you sitting in traffic late for work or whatever Lol...

The Scout Navigation system on the 2018 Camrys is THE biggest pile of crap to ever be installed on any car ever!!! Our XSE was almost $35k and the navigation system constantly crashes and is very unreliable! Whoever at Toyota signed off on this needs to be fired! They can't fix it. It's a nice car otherwise. Our 4 cyl gets almost 40MPG on the highway and it is a nice car to drive but you better get a GARMIN and use it!

I have to say that it is disappointing that you need to have your phone plugged into the USB when there is only one USB in the vehicle to use your GPS. It is also disappointing that you cannot verbally connect to your phone to call someone when you are using your Scout GPS. Why have a car if the entire process is dependent on the phone you own.
