    Excellent work! Would love to see how you put the stave together as well. As there's a lot of nuances to that as well 👍👌

      Thanks. There are some things I have to keep secret. We have done a video on glueing up a stave.

      Hi, sorry, we do not give out specifics of the measurements we use as we have to keep some of our `secrets`. You can find plenty of people on the internet who have given out dimensions for longbows.

    Assuming you leave the nodes intact, can you scrape down 1-2 mm max of the bamboo in case you end up with a bit of the crown on one side?
    Some of my bamboo has sideways bend , and I find it darn hard to plane it down at a slight slope before laminating 😅

      Yes, if you find it helps. Let me know how you get on.

      Phew , finally at 30 inches. Thanks for the info , had to combine a bit of crown removal + belly and fiddle with the bottom nock to remove that nasty twist 😁

    Very beautiful work and great video. My biggest question has always been how your bench holds the bow while your working on it. I think I've seen in videos that it's just a brace at both ends? Am I incorrect? Finding a really solid hold on a bow has been on of my biggest problems. I don't make many longbows, mostly flatbows of american style longbows; do you think that your bench and "bow holding" setup would work. Asking for a friend lol

    • @longbows
      @longbows  Před 2 lety

      Thanks. Yes, I did a video on my bench set-up, I use two uprights with U shapes at the top, so I can rotate the bow with my left hand whilst working it with my right. If I want to hold it tight without moving I place one end in the bench vice, does this answer your question?

    Questo è un arco in laminato formato da tre tipi di legno: di bambù, legno di limone al centro, manca solo il terzo legno e nel video non è nominato. Spero potrai dirci di quale tipo di legno si tratta. Grazie

Sareste così gentile da darmi un ulteriore chiarimento in modo da poter capire di quale legno si tratta. Grazie per l'attenzione.
