Tecno recently launched its Camon series for the year 2021 which comprises of the Camon 17, 17p and 17 Pro. The Tecno Camon 17 Pro is the highest of the new Camon series and is more of a successor to the Camon 16 Premier from last year. It sees significant improvement to its camera specifications sporting a 48MP selfie camera, and also adopting a center hole punch display style. It runs on the improved Mediatek Helio G95 which is a slight upgrade over the Helio G90. The Tecno Camon 17 Pro also maintains a 90hz refresh rate display and comes with a massive 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. This is an initial review of the Tecno Camon 17 Pro including a camera and gaming test.

For the charging time taking over 2 hours, I think it is my unit and will confirm from a second charging test. I checked with someone who has another unit and it charges in 1 hour 35mins

Not a good idea. No Google Play Services. If you understand what that means and still don't mind then go ahead
@@izziboye I don't mind Google play absence but working perfectly on 4G and beyond on network such as MTN and co. I'm currently using nova 7 but only H+ on MTN no 4G.

That's not true. Unless the phone is damaged, a phone's camera doesn't get less clear. Maybe a poor software update can cause it but a software update can also fix it

Definitely the Redmi is the better device. Better software (MiUi is superior to HiOs and they provide updates unlike Tecno). Amoled screen as against IPS LCD. 120hz Vs 90hz. IP53 splash resistance. Faster charge with 33w on the Redmi as against 25w on the Camon. Less intrusive ads. It's the better device IMO. The 8GB and 256GB of the Tecno is where it shines against the Redmi that is only 6/128GB for same price

Charges full in 1:45 from 0 to 100. Battery life so far is as good as expected

For 125k, should be expecting a charging brick faster than 25W, an OLED or AMOLED display rather than IPS LCD.
25w charging is not so bad, the Samsung Galaxy A52 doesn't do more than 25watts and it doesn't even come with a 25w charger. An amoled display would've been a very good improvement but I don't think an LCD is that bad, Xiaomi used LCD displays until this year, the Poco X3 NFC and X3 Pro also uses LCD display. I think this device is great, just terrible software which makes for poor user experience

Not worth the upgrade. Performance difference will be minimal and probably unnoticed
