Hakeem won the 1:1 but not bad at all for a rookie Admiral against one of the best of all time!

Houston had an awful team back then. It was mainly Olajuwon and Thorpe. The rest of the team was trash.

Without looking at stats, and going off memory of watching it at the time, Robinson always played well against olajuwon. But everyone only wants to remember the playoff series when Robinson was MVP and olajuwon outplayed him

David Robinson is easily one of the top 5 greatest centers of all time and a top 5 two way player.

Exactly. Robinson won a majority of the games against Olajuwon in his career, and was every bit the player Hakeem was. Give David teammates like Drexler, Horry, Cassell, etc., and he would have had more postseason success in the early-mid 90s.

@@d.b.cooper2174that's hyperbole. Robinson had more glaring flaws teams could exploit in the playoffs unlike Olajuwon.
He had a limited post up game. He never expanded to develop a back to the basket game. Olajuwon had a myriad of post up moves.
You could see vs Utah in 94 he was completely taken outta the picture and could only stay out on the perimeter shooting lower % jumpers whereas Hakeem dominated vs them.

Hakeem definitely won this one on one matchup.

He won most of the matchups against anybody up until 1996 when he got older and started having health problems.

@@safeandeffectivelol We can both agree on that. Shaq was starting to emerge as a dominant Center, and David Robinson was still a great player after his injury.
