- This apartment is definitely not what you’ll see on tv shows like “million dollar listing”, but this is the reality of living in New York City on a budget. For the record, this is way nicer than my first NYC Apartment…

Great news! If you make a purchase from any link above, my channel earns a small affiliate commission from the site.
Wait - the third bedroom is accessed through the second bedroom? What insanity!! The view is a bunch of strangers' windows. New York city - what a crazy place! A dungeon rents for $7000+. I'm agog.
Weidly enough, my neighbor's home has a bedroom that can only be accessed through the master bedroom. They are originally from New York, and they think it's super weird, too.
As a native New Yorker, I'm appalled that they actually want over $7,000 for a basement apartment. This is ridiculous & criminal. That sad part about it, it will rent!!!
Insane and I wouldnt want anyone accessing my bedroom to get to theirs.
I would use that third bedroom as a home office.
@@AWordofHope me neither. I would hate that
I feel sorry for people in NYC having to be ripped off like this... it's a shame!
Looks like it's time to move to a new city!
One with reasonable rent!😊
the worst part is all that money earned is gone with no return, I rented for 20+ years its the worst mistake I ever made.
The shit New Yorkers tolerate for outrageous prices just to say, "I live in NYC". Yet they think of themselves as 'culturally superior'.
. . . It's a SHAM . . . 💀
Where I'm from $5,000 is equal to 20 months of rent.
You & Charles are funny together
The brick curved ceiling is awesome. Charles to the rental rescue!
When I first started watching these videos I would think $5000 per month was unbelievable. Now I think "oh, that's not bad at all"
That's exactly how you get brainwashed. If you hear it long enough, it becomes brain saturation... The prices were ridiculous, and the apts all fell short in more then one way.
No it’s still bad very bad this is not worth 5000 a month
That's exactly the way they want us to think. It's called bamboozling.
It’s bad.
It’s a lot!!
It's crazy... The cost. I have 3 bedrooms, 1 and a half bathrooms, a real yard... $550/mo. I'll stay in my little hometown. But, I love your energy Cash and the way you make everything seem so awesome!!
I also have 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms 2 car garage and wash er dryer in wash room 1600.00 with land.
Nobody cares what you pay when you lived in BFE.
@@lindauribe6872 Still cheaper than just a studio apartment in a big city. 😉 I don't know how people do it.
@@cindiwalls3518 They get paid more than you do.
Yes, do stay away. Tokyo has raised the payment for people to leave, it is so crowded. You do it for free.
Oh boys I did have fun! Cash & Charles should have their very own TV show. Loved all Charles listings, would be very happy in the last two.
Charles is awesome!
@humboldt 🐻 bear : cash Jordan is fun & absolutely nerdy😊cute .The NYC apts he shows are always interesting. I lived in Manhattan ("the city") many yrs ago when apts were actually, unbelievably, cheap--affordable. Moved to one of the outer boroughs yrs ago, stayed put, traveled Europe alot, still stayed put &after divorce, bought myself & 5yr old son a modest, cozy1600 sq ft, 2 bdrm, 2 level waterfront bungalow w/a deck & patio facing water. It's not an apartment, its a stand-alone structure on co-op owned land. Monthly mtge,co-op fee & real estate tax = $917.00. I still love Manhattan after all the yrs but it's only 20-40 mins away by car depending on distance to travel. Cant afford to live there now & wouldn't pay insanely hi rent for an acceptably "cool" apt NOR would I pay a low rent to live in a closet. Unfortunately, rents in the outer boroughs became ridiculously hi, pre-covid.Don't know how pple afford them😕, especially since covid & inflation on EVERYTHING. Just content & grateful to have my own little piece of heaven where i was able to raise a kid safely. BTW, HumboldtBear, are you in Mendocino Cnty (green triangle?). Would love to see that part of the states one of these days. Peace out✌️ & "Live, from NYC"!
Dude they split a one bedroom in half and rent it as another bedroom. Wow renting in NYC needs regulations. Landlords here definitely preying on the desperate people living here.
The subterranean cave made me drool. It's going to be fantastic!
Now, which one was illegal, you didn't say.
NYC is dying for the same reason that down town Toronto is dying. The rent is going up so high that only the rich can afford it.
I'm Scottish, and I thought our prices were crazy! I just checked the price for 3 bedroom apartments in our capital city of Edinburgh, and it works out to be about 1/3 of the price of these, and Edinburgh is considered very expensive. I suppose most people in New York live a long way out of the city and spend hours commuting. They do look nice though, and seem to be a lot more spacious than I would expect for a city centre.
But aren't those apparments in Manhatten? Isn't Manhatten the extra expensiv area of NY?
@@baumwolke2078Yes it is. I’m born and raised in Brooklyn, and would never move back to the city (Manhattan) because I can’t afford it. I once lived in a studio in the upper east side with my boyfriend. We paid $2100 monthly for one big room. Now we live in a beautiful Pre-War one bedroom in Brooklyn for under $1800. Bay Ridge is one of the few last affordable hidden gem neighborhoods in all of Brooklyn.
With those bottom/basement apartments I’d seriously be worried about flooding issues.
And rats. NY is overrun!
@@panamasrose 😳😳😳
And also their dark and dank, and all you smell is garbage. I'm sure you're always cold in those places because there's no sunlight
@@panamasrose Exactly, I'll be more concerned about the rats then flooding. It's not like it floods often. But rats are often. Whoever lives there better have a cat or two!!!
And roaches. Let's not forget about the roaches.. Well rats and mice eat roaches so I guess you might not see too many of those.
Now I wanna see a full video tour of Charles doing his Cash impression. XD
I love this channel. I have no intention of moving to NYC while I'm in a very comfortable 3 BD, 2.5 Bath Home. However, watching this channel has taught me a lot about the Burroughs and neighborhoods. I bet I'd feel almost like a native if I visit again. The best part is I get my daily Vitamins C & C when you and Charles are showing Apts. My friend's daughter is moving to NYC after college. I'm referring her to you two to find a good apartment for her needs. I'll worry less knowing she's being guided by either or both of you.
Peace from Columbus, OH.
They also have a terrible rat problem.
@@llunaeldas8055my eleven-year-old daughter just told me that... I assumed she was exaggerating...wow so that's true....
I bet you pay 1/3 the $ for 3x's the space
I would think that you would get a washer and dryer on anything over $3K/mo. That way you can take in laundry to do, to help pay for the rent. 🤔
A couple of unique places with Alex... he's a cool guy...then the dynamic duo of Cash and Charles.. great way to start my Sunday 😊
Good Morning All
Morning
Good morning! 🌞
17 min of Cash talking about apartment I can't rent in a country I don't live? I'm in!
Hah thanks
@@CashJordan I enjoy your videos a lot, man. Thank you; and I wish you success. 🙌
If I had the dough, the final apartment from Charles is definitely the one I would take.
Charles is awesome! It has a sink sprayer, dishwasher, microwave! I was laughing and died when Cash asked, “Is he making fun of me?”
Charles has the best apartments.
I was cracking up when Cash said “is he making fun of me?” 😂😂😂
Hi Cash....thanks for the views. I liked the studio that Charles had with that outdoor space. Be well
Hope Charles arm/hand is feeling better.
Love how they can quote those rents with a straight face- “$6,200 for bedrooms with no closets…” Only in New York!
I live near Toronto and I can’t get over how expensive rentals are in New York. How do people live? Love your videos Cash. Shout out to Charles!
They rent in the outer burroughs
Definitely Definitely the Cellar Dweller all day long what character that place has. Awesome!!
I liked all of Charles' apartments, and loved the studio because of the huge outdoor space. The first apartment shown was not something I would rent because I am not fond of rats and flooding. Also, that long downstairs entrance; sure hope it's well lighted at night. I am also glad to see some apartments with real kitchens! Appliances crammed into a corner of the living space are not really kitchens. Cash and Charles are a great duo!
His story checks out lol
Charles always has the best apartments
14:44 Cash is so funny.
A bathroom, in case you gotta go. Number 2. And he hits floor 2 on the elevator. 😂 😂
Out of all of these, I liked Cash's last one and Charles' last one. They were both unique and had more space. The prices, of course, were out of my range, but that's NYC.
Awesome apartments! And Charles, stop making fun of Cash..that's naughty! 😂
Oh Cash, I missed you the last 2 days. I kept checking to make sure I didn't miss a video. I so look forward to your videos, especially when I have my lunch break at school away from the kiddos. You work with people who have some of the greatest personalities to show apartments with. No one is ever gonna top Charles, but Alex was very personable. Keep 'em coming.
Oh thank you!
You do an amazing job with terribly overpriced apartments. (I know it’s the [crazy] market.)
Do people realize that those “beautiful” basement apartments are very susceptible to roaches and mice! Also, first and second floor apartments might encounter them too.
Very much so.
I have three family members that are superintendents, and they have to deal with that all the time.
Oh so that's why New Yorkers don't like ground floor apartments because of the rodents....
I Never comment But Man I Have to say I Love When Charles is On. Always Love and Peace
Charles #1 Listings!
What's on the outside of that window? The outside. 😂😂😂
That was rich. His story checks out. Even richer.
Alex and you were a great combo .. and Charles and yourself are always an amazing team. Thank you for the smiles !!!
💜 imitation is the sincerest form of flattery 🙂 glad the wing mended.
Cash's descriptions makes the apartments sound actually livable!
It's always interesting/fun to explore these apartments, and Cash and Charles are very watchable hosts. I chuckle when Cash says 'free AC' - wait until the utility bill comes. And though the necessity of it is obvious, the idea of having multiple roommates that always worried me is that life is unpredictable: an unexpected job offer in another city or state, a health issue, a sudden family emergency back home - it seems that with 3 or more roommates especially, you would be in the situation of regularly having to find someone new who is compatible. Maybe it's easier in your 20s? I can't remember that far back.
I always look forward to each new episode but I’m always especially excited to see that Mr Charles Monroe is featured today- y’all should have your own series on hgtv for real ❤
Haha how funny my video that came out this morning starts with the same song. It's me & my cat travelling to Montreal by train. ❤
Good morning Cash. If you can afford these apartments you don't need a washer/ dryer. Just buy new clothes every other day. Be the Reacher. You know what I'm saying. Never ever carry luggage. Just shop in your destination even if it's a thrift store. Charles, mad props for your pads and your impersonating Cash. We wait for shtik like this. He did it with love.
Alex is great. Just love those postwar Eastside apartments with Charles Munroe!
Don’t know how you could list the second apartment as a three bedroom. Maybe you could call it a 2 bedroom with a bonus room. But I guess landlords will list their apartments any way they see fit to guarantee it rents, right?
Charles brings the good stuff.
Love the jacket!!
I love seeing the courtyards and custom living spaces and hidden stuff
Cash ll, I'm never going to move to New York City but I love watching your videos and I like how you keep mixing things up here lately whether it's the music or a property brokers chiming in.. Awesome work!
These apartments were really nice. All the listings would be great if I could get used to the price . But it’s the price you pay to live in such a fantastic city. Good job Cashn.😊
I love the Charles and Cash duo and his places but Wowee couldn't afford NY! I'll stay in my NC apartment 😂
This was a fun video today, looked like y'all enjoyed the listings today.
I picture flooding and breakins and a laughable price. The second one you go through another person's room..no way.
Charles 👋😆HARD WORKERS UNITE BABY ❤
This is Gonna b so Interesting CJ🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Sunday😀….
Love me some Charles! They make a great team
Well, Alex redeemed himself with those first three listings! However, in that second unit of his... what was that in the corner with black cabinets? I've NEVER seen such a large microwave like that! That ground floor unit was GORGEOUS! Charles listings were better though (of course they are) because of the amount of space and storage, plus the full-sized appliances, that you get for your money. Charles' building had the BEST laundry facility that I have ever seen on this channel! The only thing missing was the folding tables. But having a bathroom in the laundry facility is a nice compensation.
Tttttttttttttttttt
That Imitation Of You!!! Charles has you down , Cash!!! Alex Is GREAT Too!!!!
The Cash and Charles show will be a great one 🤗 !!
I find these Vids and Cash entertaining. I enjoy the mini neighborhood tours and I'm still floored and amazed at the prices people will pay to gain the inferred status of living in NYC even if being screwed over and crammed into jail cell spaces or sharing with multiple people like crowded rats in a tiny cage... Often climbing 5 or 6 flights for the "privledge".. Private laundry not guaranteed. Nope.
You can keep New York. I'll take The mountains any day
Charles impersonating Cash is priceless! 😀
Alex second apartment I didn't really like because I hate those landlords who put them flex walls up to make a big room into two bedrooms that💩 should be illegal Charles came in the clutch as usual cash be low key throwing a lil shade at Charles because his actual listing are better than cash actual listings
Alright, the perfect NY Real Estate Duo right here! You guys really vibed together on this one! Love you Cash! Maybe your sidekick can be a regular! :) The basement apartment was and is my FAVORITE apartment you've toured, maybe my fav apartment ever, period. It's so rad!!! WOW! All the stone, just so much character!
Cash Charles should do fun vlog not involving real estate love these two ❤️
Those rents are just ridiculously high. How can anyone afford this?
Natural brick WITHOUT gloss!!
I love that basement unit! Actual hardwood floors...reminds me of an apartment somewhere in Europe, like Spain. It's so old that it has those half cylinder shaped thingies as the ceiling...I don't think my city has that, as most buildings aren't older than 1871.
I love that old world look too, the brick and hardwood floors. Beautiful…and I even like that it has a cave or subterranean feel to,it. To me that feels safe and cozy .
Next to Cash, Charles has become my favourite - they make a great double act.
Charles always brings it!!
The last apartments were really nice. Glad to see Charles hand is better. Have a nice weekend!
Cash, you really should talk to some of the space saving furniture people and get them to advertise or put links on your page. That sweet studio with the outside area is a great candidate for the space saving furniture that exists now that was only in our dreams several years ago. If I were still in NYC, I'd be all over this. I fled NYC for warmer climates, although today Tampa is feeling rather cold. Love your work and the other agents you showcase.
I think he is mocking you just s little bit haha
6195$ no laundry ? Add laundry, charge 7K 👍 I prefer the natural brick
Great apartments, and love seeing you, and Charles show apartments.
There's something about the way the courtyard looks in those Charles apartments that was working for me
Charles imitating Cash was hilarious lmao
Yep, I love the Cs Cash and Charles! Good work guys!
Really like these!
Charles saves the day.
Great energy in this vid!
Definitely going diagonal after seeing this.
C&C Realtor group is back! Are you on the menu since you are on the Kitchen counter,Cash?:-)
Hey Cash, I just found your channel by accident. Very cool videos, I've only watched a few so far. I do like the interaction between you and Hannibal Buress AKA Charles. You guys are funny. Thanks for creating cool content.
7:45 this place is definitely haunted!
The second basement was very cool, and that outdoor space was incredible. The first apartment in the lux building was my favorite one from there. The square footage was pretty great, and the kitchen was really nice. That private patio was awesome!
How much would people have to be getting paid a month to pay this much rent?
All these building shaft, patio, outdoor spaces are rat central in NYC at night. Especially that main building interior court/shaft they're storing trash in. 🧀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀
One of my favorite CZcamsrs to watch. Makes me want to move to NYC which is my favorite city to go to
I had to pause for this comment: that first apartment with the backyard was a unicorn. The privacy and location and space and features for that price is worth it!
love the longer vids
Love yall's dynamics. Especially love the self aware jabbing!
Always enjoy your tours!!!! please give us a few words about the kids, just like to hear all is well.
Happy New Year Guys from Vancouver BC.🏂
Really liked these apartments. Charles and Cash are awesome!
My favorite is the dungeon one. Absolutely love it..all of it ❤😃
Those prices never cease to blow me away. 6k for that tiny kitchen?! There’s not enough counter space to chop a salad.
Charles trumps with his listings. lol Charles roasting of Cash spot on lol.
You two could take that act on the road! I love your vids where Charles shows up.
$5,395 per month for the first apartment and over $6,000 for the second one? No wonder why they're empty.
Love Charles' jacket.
I love these videos, Cash. 👍
