  • Officially your fanciest move so far in our Learn to Ice Skate series.
Forward Outside 3 Turns are made up of several skills you have already learned.
If you are struggling with any aspect of this move, look out for our prompts in the top right corner (you can click on those to go to a video) to return to revise your foundation skills and help you through.
Remember, the barrier is your friend when learning a new move. There's no harm in starting carefully and then moving away from the wall.

Wow! Love it! “ carrying the flat screen TV” and “pushing that button “ have been the moves that I missed all this time .
    Thank you ❤️

Very good advice as usual. Great tip about improving the exit glide with the body check.

I have enjoyed your helpful instructions. So beautiful, too. ❤ Could you also show backward outside/inside 3? Thank you.

Hi, why do some people teach gig the circle to start and in your video you start facing away from the circle?

There are layers to learning, progressions and variations. To help students learn well, coaches introduce information and new movement patterns in layers. Each new layer is a progression. Once we have learned all progressions we can begin to “play” with variations as a sign of true skill mastery.
How each coach chooses to layer the learning for a student may be a little different.
