In this video, Lloyd teaches you how to do a backward outside 3 turn! Turns from backwards to forwards can be tricky at first as it requires a lot of confidence to rock your weight to the back of the blade to turn. Without doing this, it is impossible to execute a 3 turn from backward to forwards.
We recommend starting by trying the two foot turn from backward to forwards on a curve. Once you have mastered this move, you will be ready to move on to the backward outside 3 turn!

This is exactly what i needed. I've been struggling with this forever
1:34 This part made a lightbulb go off for me đĄ I'm gonna try and keep it in mind next time I'm on the ice!
Least confusing back 3 turn video ever. đâ€ïž Is there an back inside 3 turn video as well? Also curious what you are doing in Poland? Thank you for your great content.
still missing the inside đą
The pole analogy is brilliantly helpful.
Best explanation I have ever encountered! Thanks so much!!!!
I'm literally learning this rn. My coach gave me great advice
Awesome!hope the video had some helpful tips in it to help you master the move đ

i feel like i will never ever get these. miss your online classes!
Keep practicing even of just just do everything else but not the turn perfect that then the rest will fall into place. Everyone's different for me I struggle retaining a lot of info at once so I do it in bits perfect it then put it all together. Don't try to do too much because what happens is the brain then prioritises things then so bits get missed out and you become oh I can't do this practice practice and you'll get it
1:08 you make it look so smooth đ thanks for this tutorial
good stuff, gonna try that on my inline skates and see how it feels, thanks for the teaching!
One day I will be able to do it!
Thank you!! Excited to try this out
i need backward inside 3 turn now â€đ
I love the lesson.
i would love a video on what outside and inside mean! or just the basic BASIC terms for skating (off ice?) i just started free skate 3 after several years of not skating and have forgotten almost everything.
sincerely,
desperate
I love watching figure skating but it's always so fast it's hard to see what's actually going on. It's interesting to see it broken down slowly. I'm still not going to strap on any skates though, lol!
Where on the balance board (or what part of the foot should the center of the balance board be beneath) if you want to practice backwards three turns?
Are there differences to the balance if you want to try rockers/counters?
Off topic question. How t8ght should i lace my skates? I know the foot should not wiggle in the boot but then my foot either gets numb or starts to hurt on the top/ around the ankle
Excellent and helpful video, with a little fun thrown in. Concise. Thank you.
I get stuck on my toe pick every time
Why are you in Poland LOL
Oddest thing. Difficult for me to do b/o/3 turn in itself, but in combination with certain footwork I can.
1:57 Foot close to the skaiting foot, not anywhere unusual.... TRLOL.
I'm struggling with this too and its mostly because I get scared.
Fear doesn't help! Try improving confidence holding your edges on a circle both backwards and forwards. You'll feel more confident doing the turn afterwards!
@@IceCoachOnline Thank you ....I'm 51 and I'm tall 5'10" . I had no fear skating as kid and I could do pretty much anything I was taught. Now being older and knowing I have a long way down if I fall it stops me from doing things I know I can do. I can still cross overs and can do backward but only on my good side . I just can't do them left over right its like writing with your left hand my brain just won't do it...... Could you do a video of exercises to strengthen edges and anything else to help with confidence... Im on your Patreon too . I'm kinda stuck in moving forward . Its really hard getting a private coach that will push adult skaters. Would you ever do a Q&A livestream on your Patreon so we could ask you questions ?? That would be awesome.
idk if this is possible on rollerblades there's absolutely 0 tutorials on it đ
One foot spins and toe jumps are pretty hard (but not impossible) on rollerblades, but pretty much every other figure skating move I can think of is possible, though harder as the ice blade is more responsive. Rockered frames/wheel setup makes it a lot easier. Also figure boots have more heel so your pelvis is pushed forward and it's easier to keep the weight over your skates, IMO.
