I wouldn't mind being a juror in a sovereign citizen case.
Being an avid viewer of courtroom content, I was really excited to get my first juror summons. Stuff got real stressful real quick in my experience though... So much nicer being able to pause or skip a video hahaha
Jury duty is so much more appealing after binge watching court case.

Honestly, asking anyone to raise their hand to tell the truth is crazy... As if someone who planned to lie would be magically stopped in their tracks by this magical encantation spell... I think that the whole process is antiquated. Just tell them if they lie, they will be charged with a crime. "Do you swear to tell the truth" is such a middle school, pinky promise childish thing to have in the legal system.

It is actually. It's the act of signing that matters, not what is signed. It was set up that way ages ago because plenty of people needed to sign documents but couldn't read or write enough to spell their own name.

I get that they have to tell pro se defendants that they'll be held to the same standards as an attorney, but in practice, that almost never happens. The judge treats the pro se's like they're an 8 year old, with no comprehension of the legal process. If any attorney tried like 1% of the BS the typical pro se does, they'll be leaving the court in handcuffs after being held in contempt.

The funny thing is that a signature doesn't have to be a name to be legally binding. Could literally be an X and it counts. The legally binding part is the act of signing, not what is signed. Dancing around his name does him no good, he signed it.
No kidding! (That's an interesting distinction of which I was not aware.) What significance then, if any, does the actual signature represent on a legally binding instrument or contract?
@@VictheChick The signature proves the action happened. Signing your name is still best practice. Having a set way to sign things makes it easier to prove or disprove if the mark was made by you.

This is how they process information though. Information goes in their head. Normally, a person would consider its source, the veracity, how believable it might seem. They might look more into it. This generation takes that information and they ask "do i like this?" If yes, it's true. If no, the information is wrong. Don't like the court's authority? Good news! It suddenly doesnt apply to you!
