    Excelent video it would've been good to point out the connection between the aircraft and the idea of launching.them from the boats essentially creating the first aircraft carriers and spelling the beginning of the end of the battleship unless that's been covered in a separate video I'm not sure. I'm looking forward to seeing how in depth you go with this I'm fascinated by WW1 and 2, again great job

    I think of the Napoleon Wars as the turning point towards modern warfare, and World War I and other wars around that time as a culmination of the changes that started then. But it's a spectrum so I suppose you can put the turning point almost anywhere you like.

    The Crimean War and American Civil War (1850-1870 time period) could be considered as the first "modern" wars. Both used "trench" warfare as used until WWI.

  • @HisCarlnessI
    @HisCarlnessI Před 11 lety

    Well yes, but trench warfare is not the defining factor of what makes a modern war, as it isn't really used today. I was really thinking more about the turning point in how people thought about and carried out wars, with a focus on management of resources instead of thinking of things on more ancient terms.
