"Indiscriminately mow down folks.." I think that's the classiest synonym I've ever heard for people killing.
The amount of people here because of social studies class:
I'm literally here because of it 😭😭😭
Honestly though
Wow great!!! Please more of this!!!
not surprisingly, BBC has made some excellent documentaries that really bring home the reality of this horrific, unnecessary war....
Sal Kahn; this is a lecture from his online university - the Kahn Academy. This guy gives lectures on everything, and it's all for free. Kahn has degrees in math, electrical engineering, computer science from MIT.
4:05 that is a French tank.
Amazing stuff, thanks a lot
Excelent video it would've been good to point out the connection between the aircraft and the idea of launching.them from the boats essentially creating the first aircraft carriers and spelling the beginning of the end of the battleship unless that's been covered in a separate video I'm not sure. I'm looking forward to seeing how in depth you go with this I'm fascinated by WW1 and 2, again great job
Yes!! I love you!
Died in battle. Lives on in a pizza :-)
'He was still alive when the soldiers arrived at the wreckage and is reported to have said "alles kaput", which means "I am finished". Then he died. The bullet was found in Richthofen's clothing when the allied forces examined the body.'
-Wikipedia
Screw machine guns... the more terrifying weapon was mustard gas
fr mini guns better
@@JAYISCOOL435 11 years in the making? :)
They can mow people down.😂 best line ever!
Thank You Salman
I love the concept of Kahn Academy- I guess I was just wondering if he actually had a background in the subject- or was at least a history major/professor.
great video
I think of the Napoleon Wars as the turning point towards modern warfare, and World War I and other wars around that time as a culmination of the changes that started then. But it's a spectrum so I suppose you can put the turning point almost anywhere you like.
Khan academy:
These are some pictures of new weapons
Me: Pasta? Really?!
Kasual Studio it’s pizza
also the first appearance of flamethrowers. Another terrifying weapon.
Nice
"It made the trench a very toxic environment to work in"
they might have been using chlorine gas at my internship office, dunno
Just to name one previous flamethrower used in combat, Greek Fire was used before even 400BC.
This video immediately reminded me of Blackadder goes Forth.
Nice video
Brilliant
Thanks i didnt know how Red Baron pizza got its name
0:36 Why the Pizza box?LOL
The better question is "why not?"
Is Sal God? He knows everything.
his last words were "kaputt" which means "broken" in english. ;)
Can't wait till WWII
Do Korean war please!
"Remember the old colonialist verse; Whatever happens / we have got / the maxim gun / and they have not? Yeah, well, now everybody had machine guns."
- John Green in Crash Course World History on WWI
The Crimean War and American Civil War (1850-1870 time period) could be considered as the first "modern" wars. Both used "trench" warfare as used until WWI.
Trench warfare were used in the 16th century too
Although Germans are criticized for unrestricted submarine warfare, it was the French that first utilized poison gas on the western front.
It made an angle each few meters, for the blast of grenades and other things.
Well yes, but trench warfare is not the defining factor of what makes a modern war, as it isn't really used today. I was really thinking more about the turning point in how people thought about and carried out wars, with a focus on management of resources instead of thinking of things on more ancient terms.
^ This made me laugh out loud.
lmao haha thats crazy brazy bro but ion remember askingggg
It would,ve been good to point out the connection between the aircrafte and the idea of launching. them from the boats essentially creating the first aircraft carriers and spelling the beginning of the end of the battleship unless that's been covered 'he was still alive when the soldiers arrived at the wreckage and is reported to have said "alles kaput " which means "i'am finished " then he died .the bullet was found in Richthofen's clothing when he allied force examined the body .They was terrifying of the weapon was found call mustard gas rememder the old colonialist were ;whatever happens\we have got \the maxim gun\and they have not ?

Interesting fact, his brother was also a celebrated ww1 ace.
Only on the internet...
Know it's 100 years
those existed since the renaissance genius.
4:05 that’s a French tank!!!
A pretty niche weapon though.
the pink baron!
Now we have a powerful FED, which makes that need obsolete for all the future free wars we'll enter, at the expense of the dollar.
Did world war 1 show us the introduction of the special deluxe pizza?
vicker mk 1 machine gun :) used in wwII
The Americans bought/borrowed many of their first tanks from the French.
American educator Salman Khan, a graduate of MIT and Harvard Business School.

Not really, Greek fire existed for thousands of years.
Trenches in WWI were shaped diffrently.
Hope you do realize i said world war 2 and i was referring to him making videos on it.
Who is the lecturer? What is his background?
Was there a shortage of frozen pizza in the trenches?
Next ww2 pls
What does kaput (or however it's spelt) mean?
kaputt means broken in german
Isnt that a french tank ???
Owo
Wow those Germans are so good
Well, just saying, but I think the fellows with the water-cooled machinegun are in a fox hole...
yes it's a Renault. but the Ami's used it.
Airplane? Do you mean aeroplane? Your history videos are far too generic, vague and directionless. Your maths videos are on the other hand are excellent.
broken (kaputt)
Delicious pizza
