This Is Why You DON’T Downscale Toys | Pangu Toys Blue Omega Supreme #transformers
Never upscale a Legends-Size figure, Never downscale a Masterpiece-Size toy. The engineering was meant for a specific size and you break the tolerances if you re-scale them.
I still remember my oversized TF 2007 bootleg Legends figures. My God...
The Magic Square MP style Optimus is the exception to the rule.
@@comparedWJ275literally thought the same thing
Magic Square’s upscale of their Legends Prime 2.0 became the best MP Prime
Ms2 but was almost entirely redesigned but with the same engineering and some added articulation
This guy is the perfect example of articulation Vs. poseability. It's technically a highly articulated figure, but because the joints are all so incredibly loose, it's poseability is incredibly low.
That's a great distinction. An example of mine is SS86 Sludge prior to fixing the ratchets. Great articulation, but would contort if you tried to stand it up.
Well said
I don't know know what fucking plastic this thing is made of but its giving me the chills every time it slips against your desk and makes that fucking noise that happens when it does so.
I always love hearing what your parents have to say about what transformer you happen to be covering, it's so sweet ❤
I have the Newage Omega and I picked up the purple version of this. I have the DX9 Omega and love it. The lack of ratchets in the Pangu ko were a problem, but I found some thin plastic from a phone protector added to the joint makes him super stable. Sucks that I had to do surgery on a new piece but I really liked the aesthetics better on Pangu vs Newage. For the wings, I use 1 piece of the extension on each side between the wing and the cover. Makes them super solid. Again, sucks I had to figure that out, but super easy fix.
The newage version is a god damn masterpiece
I love omega, his alt mode is awesome in the way that he has a base mode and a vehicle mode at the same time
"Speaking of cracks..." - That Toy Guy, 2023
I’ve seen another reviewer present this figure and he didn’t address any of these issues, even though you can clearly see them in the review video. I typically don’t buy much from 3rd or 4th parties for these very reasons. Thanks for the honest review.
I feel like upscaling a legends transformer or downscaling a masterpiece could only work if the company who made the original figure does it.
TFsafari also has one of the largest upgrade kits for figures too.
Yes, I picked up a simple but effective antenna plug-in for Siege Jetfire's helmet to complete the Macross-ish look. I'm not sure if it's intentional but it does store in the weapon pack between the chest shield and the guns. This the Matrix Workshop M-17, or M-17B for the purple SG version.
Me and my Brother used to have eczema on our foreheads and cheeks all the time years back. It was brutal at times. But me and my brother got through it, goes from greasy, to dry and flakey, but then it was so relieving when it was smooth and we no longer looked the Ghouls from Fallout.
This thing does not hold a candle for the Select Guardian Robot.
I have two of them, flanking my Siege Omega Supreme. It's EPIC!
How do you have the money?
That’s about a 600 dollar art piece XD
That's what I did as well!!
@@minilopgamer1950 There's one that I just bought as a preorder. It was 30$ cheaper for reason. The other, I bought at my local geek store with trade-ins, GameStop style. At that shop, I got a lot of stuff just with trade-ins. Like so many G1 goodness notably G1 Bludgeon and Thunderwing. Both 100% complete. Priced at 80$CAN each. PAID BY TRADING IN MOVIE TOYS AND PRE-TRILOGIES GENERATIONS. 😶
Super exited to see what you do with the upcoming Legacy United Tidal Wave!
was this engineered by the same guy who made bold forms gladius?
and his bottle of guinness
All hail the mighty Guinness bottle.
10:46 this caught me off guard!
With the exception of the leg panel piece, my downscaled mp10 has remained in almost perfect condition despite semi frequent use over the years. Guess I’m just lucky…
Mine too
Mine is still working fine
The only downsize I ever saw that I actually wanted was the RoTF Devastator. Because it was actually really cool still
wow! it's almost like big toys are meant to be big toys.
The Pangu toys was never upscaled or downscaled, it was engineered at the size it is. the newage is a downscale. But it looks like you got a loose one, mine fine tight joints no problem.
Back in the 80’s, I bought a Select Toys Convertors Nofka. He was floppy, fell over a lot, made of cheap plastic with wonky arms, one of which broke on the swivel & required careful gluing. So, why would I put myself through that? It was a legends-scale fully-licensed, limited-detail, Macross SDF-1. Yes, seriously a few bucks, instead of the $$$s large ones. My best friend found a Macross Valkyrie in the same toy line. A few bucks bought a weird plane that changed into a cool little battle robot. I think that’s what people are doing buying this little Omega. However, by no means does that invalidate your argument. It definitely has issues.
I’ll also say, figures designed without paint(MS-01)that are then painted (MS-01X) have issues as well
downscaling/upscaling CAN work, if you redesign the figure for the new scale. so bassically, just remake the figure.
I have the Newage version and it’s amazing. I imagine it’s engineered differently than Pangu though.
imo G1 Fort Max has the best base mode and it’s a shame how the halfassed TR base mode seems to have overwritten peoples’ memory of what his city mode looks like
As a annual sufferer of exczema, I can relate. But not with people telling me to cover it up though.
Interesting, I would have thought downscale toys are not that hard considering it's easier to find strong material at a smaller scale.
O'Keeffe's working hands helps if the cracking gets bad in my experience, but it stings if it's too bad.
Looks like Psoriasis that's on your hands.
My father used to get it, but usually sunlight or any ultraviolet lights (phototherapy) can help as well as prescribed ointments.
I got one from ShowZ, for 40 bucks and everything is 10/10. Quality, articulation, transformation. For the price and all, the toy is marvelous.
My cousin used to work at a Little Caesars and had eczema. He had to wear gloves and it made it way worse, like oozing from his elbow all the way to the fingertips. Don't let people get you down. Your case is hardly noticeable with the framing you use. People should be looking at the figures. smh my head.
Pettition for a rubber matt for the table 🤣
And i get the exczema thing bro you do gotta leave it open so it can breathe i used to have it all over my body boy im glad it was gone. I also can recommend cortizone
I have the newage version and yeah, you get a lot for your money, but I don't really think it's worth what retailers are asking... if they did a version without the motor, I'd be way more enthusiastic about him
3:50 I just thought it was from fighting crime at night 😂
As much as I love my DX9 Gabe, even I feel he still isn’t the BEST figure even with his ratchets, the sheer density of him makes it so he ain’t gonna be doing much posing. He is similar to Haslab Unicron where he’s more a thick display piece
Doctor here. About your eczema.
Use coal tar cream, lotions and or shampoo. It will take about a week or two to control it!
Now lets talk about my payment!
Oh T-plus shampoo all brands are the same so get the cheap one!
6:58 I’m getting masterpiece hot rod flashbacks… I’m nit sure which one it is exactly, but you probably know the one I mean
The huuuuge upscale of MPP-10 by Lewin Resources is magnificent. Mine is over five years old and still holds up nicely. There's a reissue coming out soon.
Sounds like some drops of Kiki would solve a lot of these looseness issues. Toys Are Russ reviewed the Omegatron recolour of this figure and said it's tighter than this version. It's £33.49 at ShowZ right now.
Hey @toyguy just wanted to know I have eczema too. Just wanted to recommend using a brand called aveeno it basically gets rid of the itches and no stinging feeling like other types of creams
Perhaps i was lucky, but i had only one problem with my copy of the Pangu Miracle God. I got the first run in original colours and the front of the tank was unbelievably tight. I almost broke the tank and my hands trying to transform it. Seems like that was the only part which did have the right tolerances on yours 😄
7:45 what about the ultra Magnus one that you reviewed a year ago?
I believe this is supposed to be one of the omega sentinels
Alright thanks for the update on your hands I was actually kind of worried
3:35
I had thought so, as I suffer from it on my hands as well. Currently dealing with a rough flare up which is pain. Hope folks aren't being too in your face about it, but the fact you had to take time out of a video to address it makes me think otherwise.
Looking forward to when a full skin overhaul is possible, amiright? xD
I usually get it all over my arms, add the arc burns from welding class and shit goes from bad to worse.
@@ju87d-3stuka7 ooof, my sympathies to you :(
Hope your class is going well in spite of that though!
This man is soo consistent I mean may God bless u with all the masterpiece in the world
I would like to say thank you for doing this review. I was going to get this guy as the images for him made him look good. I was like yeah this guy looks good. I had Omega when I was maybe 13. Mine broke two plastic wheels inside the tank treds. Other than that he is still in great shape. I was looking for an updating one. Thank you as I would have been irretated.
Every other review of this guy I've seen people love him, I always appreciate differing opinions!
For a minute I thought you had very large hands.
Till I realised it wasn't a Titan Class
Serves you right for buying knock-offs.
Just wait for the upgrade kits for ratchet joints and other replacements
Funny he just mentioned "Quality control" from Hasbro considering there's an Elite 2.0 Nerf Gun called "the Warden" (it's supposed to be an upgraded version of a "Roughcut") it's obvious that thing didn't go through any sort Quality control testing or anything... because it breaks right out of the box. (Walcoms7 Reviewed it had to get 2 of them... both broke right out of the box)
The point's not really that Hasbro's perfect. Like any company, they have issues and sometimes freak cases of really horrid QC but they still ultimately try their best to put their toys through it and for the most part, the majority of toys they produce won't have several issues. With KO? It's a total gamble. You could be one of the lucky ones and get a figure that has flawless QC... or an absolute jank mess and there's really no in-between.
This is why I honestly stopped considering 3rd party.
The plastic usually feels brittle and the figures are always overly complicated. The only time I buy a non Hasbro figure is when it’s a high quality KO. Hasbro usually brings out some pretty solid figures. So the KOs, if they fix some issues and upgrade them, usually end up being fantastic.
I got a KO upscale of the BB Ironhide and it’s one of my favorite figures. It’s just a great figure.
I think you're mixing up 3rd party with ko. There are 3rd party figures that are made better than Takara Masterpiece which are made be companies like Fanstoys and MMC. The examples you're bringing up are straight ko's. They are usually lower quality because they don't go through the same qc process as 3rd party figures.
What you're seeing in this video is a ko. Pangu Toys is a ko company.
@@ssjMaximum22Goku I’m not. I’ve gotten a few Fans Toys and MMC figures and I was always scared to break them. Always felt like they were going to snap.
@@aldolibreri791 MMC's early stuff could be fragile but nowadays it's genuinely really solid stuff and Fans Toys really just has the issue of always making their joints way too tight. Plastic-wise they otherwise make great stuff.
While I can get behind the prospect of a Commander class Omega Supreme, not having any type of ratchets in either the legs or arms is a proverbial crime. Soft ratchets don't count. The floppiest official TF I've encountered this year yet is Miner Megatron, and reminded me a lot of this things legs. A real shame as it was a fun retool.
I hope you get a full size supreme class, omega supreme , I had one has a child and a lot of fun combining my optimus with my omega supreme. I hope you get one soon since you have most of the accessories plus I think I saw you have an addon kit too , hope you get one soon at a great price BTW
Oh yeah. Got the eczema too. It sucks. Sorry for the frustration on this toy. Better you than me. Thanks for the vid. 😂❤
A little KIKI helps a lot
I actually didn't know that about eczema and I have it. That's quite good to know.
Since you won’t review the breads, I’ll do it
Also are you gonna get the ET-01 Lucky Cat bumblebee
Thank you SO much. I was about buying the OG version.❤
Thank you for saving me seventy dollars.
Smurf Supreme! or Omega Smurf? Pity he's not fun to play with, but at least he does look pretty good if you can get him into a stable position. Is there a flight stand port? Even (especially) for non-flying characters, popping them onto one can help their stability to a huge degree, just by giving a third support point insteaed of having to balance on two feet. WFCS Springer or MP Wheeljack for example with their chronically loose ankles go from being a nightmare to keep from just flipping over and knocking down anyone standing beside them when my four pound dog trots across the floor to being the big guy other tipsy bots can lean on to stay upright, or have a DX/Core class sit on their shoulders when the shelf gets crowded but I don't want to take the time to dig out boxes and put some away.
I appreciate the review but why add the legacy & studioseries tags?
The funny thing is the QC explanation applies to Hasbro. In my experience Hasbro’s QC is about as unpredictable as 3p or KO figures.
relember when hasbro downscaled the universe 2.0 galvatron to be a deluxe and everything about it was to complex and floppy because of it? yeah this.
Had the same problem with the downscaled CW devy
Well serves as Marvel Omega supreme or Omega sentinel
Love the rage lmao
AYYYYY eczema gang! Not that I should be happy but hey, eczema gang!
Maybe its just your copy, my copy is great. Be blessed
Lmao just bought stuff from tf safari like a minute before this video got uploaded.
I got the purple one, the arm fell off and I had to tighten all the joints.
As someone who also has eczema and collects transformers, yeah it really does suck :
So... get New Age Omega Supreme then?
I’m really scared to get the clear shiny version but I still REALLY want it
This is why i prefer the newage figure
Bro’s waist works like a phasmophobia character
Who makes that Bumblebee at the end ?
I get eczema too, you can get topical creams to reduce the symptoms but it sucks a lot ay
I thought he had like burn marks, I was WAY off lol.
not worth that price tbh.
i bought better ko's half the size for like 12$ so it's again a popularity contest.
if it was Gobots we'd pay 25$-30$ for that size..
but it's Transformers ko and it's Omega ko so Let's pump the price up!🙄
I will not pay more than 40$ for it.
thanks for the review man! 👍
Well im getting the omega supreme version of this....damn now im worried
I have it. It's totally fine as a display piece apart from him sorely needing ratchets in the hip joints. You are getting what you pay for but mine is nowhere near as loose as this one he has is.
You must have a really flawed copy of MP-10V. I've had mine for years and it's perfect. No breakages or issues. It's probably a "your mileage may vary" situation because of the qc.
As an owner of that toy? It's "mileage may vary" but also it's really just the thing's construction. Certain hinges and joints were clearly made with larger scales in mind and as such? Unless you are very delicate with them, issues are bound to strike such as his leg panels which are diecast and placed on hinges that are made out of a kind of plastic that is not able to support the weight with multiple uses.
@@the-aspiring-creator4249 True, but it's a ko. Some copies are just made better than others. I mean, 3rd party in general is like that. Some people will have an issue, others might not. It's just a matter of quality control. Ko's usually go through a less serious qc process, that's why they might not be as good in quality. But again, you're right about how the tolerances change when downsizing a figure. But for MP10-V, I also own a white version and a black version, and neither of those have broken.
@@ssjMaximum22Goku In that case, you are plain lucky. Though that could also be reliant on certain factors. For instance, maybe since the repaints came later eventually KBB did correct the breakage issues or perhaps you just got lucky with your copies.
Soon as he was like deal with it this video definitely earned my like, screw the omega wanna be
Pain Playlist when
Thats a lot of partsforming. Holy hell.
Hasbro has quality control?
For the most part they do. While it slips on occasion, especially with stuff like Earthrise where a global pandemic plus changing factories really hurt them? They generally do put their toys through proper quality control and the issues that often get reported are either freak cases or stuff that's mostly just annoying (Case in point, yellowing plastic sucks but that doesn't mean anything beyond the colors looking fugly as far as I'm aware. The toy otherwise will still function.).
Doesn't seem that bad to me. This is perfect for people with neither the space nor money for the real thing, and not having ratchets isn't as big a deal since it isn't nearly as heavy.
You got a bad one. I seen other one that didn’t have any of those issues. You work for hasbro?
At least it is not psoriasis
I own the omega version
It's a great figure
People telling you to cover up your eczema besides just for misguided concern is so ridiculous. Can’t believe you have to deal with shit like that
I thought those were cat scratches or bites
Not my dumbass wondering why a wall would need to breathe
First off, every year!? Ouch... maaan, maybe you should get that investimagated, that sounds like a possible allergic reaction to something. (I dealt with pretty rough eczema for awhile as a kid until I got away from chocolate; I think that it was actually all the crap that they put into Ovaltine that did it, but nobody would believe me until I decided to go a week straight with having chocolate milk at lunch when I was in tenth grade and it had absolutely NO effect on me...)
Secondly, WOW. I think that you're the only one who reviewed some version of that mold who's had such a myriad of severe QC fails.
Third up, THAT is some seriously bad luck with your copy of MP10V!! Mine is still holding up just fine. One of the hinges for the flaps that cover the tires on the shins in robot mode broke off, but that's dumb design decision - plastic for a metal part AND the pin's too wide and doesn't seem installed correctly.
my brother has excema (no idea how to spell it) glad to see it's only something annoying over something harmful
Well... At least it's the cheapest Omega Supreme figure at this moment.
Lot of fair points, this thing looks janky. I believe you mistransformed the wings though, and that's why they're floppy
I have two of these and they had none of these issues. so weird.
What is the best cheapest titan class figure
(I’m broke)
HASBRO QUALITY CONTROL? TELL THAT TO MY 86 IRON HIDE AND PROWL
Suddenly I'm even happier I bought the new age omega lol
You should buy me that fr 🗣️
