  • A documentary that explores the making and impact of Oasis’ epic debut album Definitely Maybe.
2006 United Kingdom Music Documentary Film
The documentary features interviews with the band members, their producer Owen Morris, their manager Alan McGee, their photographer Michael Spencer Jones, and other musicians and critics who share their insights and opinions on the album. The documentary also includes rare footage of Oasis performing live, recording in the studio, and interacting with fans and the media. It covers the background of the band, the influences, and inspirations behind the songs, the challenges and controversies they faced, and the legacy and influence they left on the music scene.
Oasis was an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. The band consisted of Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll. The Gallagher brothers were the only constant members of the band throughout its existence. Oasis was one of the most successful bands of the 1990s. They released seven studio albums, all of which were commercial successes. Their debut album, Definitely Maybe, was released in 1994 and became the fastest-selling debut album in British history. Their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, was released in 1995 and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
The documentary was produced by Classic Rock Productions, a UK-based company that specializes in music documentaries and DVDs. The documentary was directed by Bob Carruthers, who is also a writer, producer, and musician. He has directed and written many documentaries on various rock bands and artists, such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Metallica, and more. The documentary was released in 2006 to coincide with the 12th anniversary of the release of Definitely Maybe.

Ive alwsys been obsessed with Oasis its crazy how much I love this band. Every song is pretty much an absolute winner. Their B sides are incredible. Noel merely replicated the Beatles strategy amd it worked . Fantastic

I remember at the time,”Definitely Maybe” came out Grunge had kicked off. I appreciate it now, but at the time, I wasn’t thrilled with that movement all and felt a bit “left out.” However, “Definitely Maybe” was just what Ivneeded at the time. Oasis fast became one of my all time favorite bands.🎧

@@TheStreamgot quite few things wrong though regards their early formation as a band. You should give credit to the Real People for helping create the band as we know now

I feel like they aren’t a lyric band yes, but some of their lyrics do mean things. Especially in that first album. Might be vague and not specific but the meaning behind some of the words and lyrics were there.

I was a big 90s alternative fan. But I felt Oasis was urban punk trash and I love it. Still do! It felt like a 90s psychedelic+ blues rock revival. A different garage band alternative.

What you have got wrong is that Noel didnt write everything. The Real People were the ones who really helped create the band and mould them. They also co wrote Columbia. Noel is not responsible for everything

Tony McCarroll was a great drummer it was Noel just didnt like Tony and got him outed from the band. Guigsy was a pos who wouldnt be in the band if it were not for Tony fighting to keep him in his place. Then Guigsy betrayed him
