This fight is so insanely optimized it’s crazy, from using s from dismounting torrent to landing with a jumping attack with the same dismount. There is no wasted movement here, really amazing
Torrent s are barely used by players from what I've seen. You can use the mount/dismount in the exact same way as a roll if you learn the timing. Especially for this boss who I've seen a lot of people complain about.

I like how in this game, they were able make the Fire Giant actually giant, unlike in DS3 where Yhorm was less of a giant, and more of a really big dude. Definitely one of my favorite bosses thematically. Awesome video Ongbal 👍

@@MrSPIDEY21 in the game when you fight Yhorn he just looks like a BIG guy, he doesnt look "taller than buildings" which is a shame because Yhorn looked waaayyy bigger in the cinematic trailer. Definitely didnt look impressive in DS3 when fighting him

I'm stuck on him too, you should really try the reduvia dagger and a spear with ice spear ash of war, completely melts him, I get it to where he has like 1000 health left then I die lol

@@sooperd00p Is that how Godskin Duo works? I thought that they worked like you can kill them, but the fight is only over once you empty their health bar at the bottom.
@@sooperd00p they work like the four kings from dark souls 1: there is a global health bar and individual ones. I had a lot of trouble fighting the fat one so I killed the other one like 3 times
@@sooperd00p No...you don't have to kill them at the same time...them coming back is a mechanic of the fight itself. The fight isn't over when you kill them both, the fight is over when the health bar on the screen empties.
Thanks for your help! I was able to beat the Fire Giant by doing some of the same strategies as the video except I took some damage. It was a good feeling beat this gigantic boss

Huh, I did something before Ongbal did the same and shatters my confidence. You sir, are a true gamer as I am stuck at the godskin duo in my level one run lol.
This was the coolest fight of the entire game for me. I also didn't realize I was supposed to attack his leg cuff though and just chipped away slowly. Made it even funner.
For me it's the worst. The camera, the health of the boss and the ammount of damage he deals. I'm ccurrently trying to kill him and I'm about 30 trials through. I'm lvl 95.
@@gremlinking5640 I'd like to see video of that. There's not a single mention of that being a thing anywhere as far as I can tell. No other bosses that have similar mechanics or anything like that. It's a huge game and obviously we don't know everything about it yet, so I won't outright call you a liar. But until some proof is shown, I highly doubt this to be true.
After losing to the fire giant probably 20+ times level 159 and finally beating him; I have a profound respect and admiration watching this again. I got better and better. I found staying beneath him and hitting his left ankle is best on horse back. When he sets the whole ground on fire, run! During second phase I kept between his thighs and only got hit 3-4 times. I was so elated when I finally beat him!!! He beat me so many times!!! This is a boss where patience and strategy are key! Rushing and being careless regardless of your level will only make for a very frustrating experience!
Watching this and the other videos on this channel make me want to start a Wretch character even though I’m still new to the game. Question though: if the Fire Giant’s stomach is a mouth, where does it’s food go 🥺
Okay, so I'm not losing it--- in most fights, I can tell a difference pretty easily between my regular first playthrough build and these Lvl1 ones... but on this fight I feel like they're doing only marginally less damage than my 70 STR +22 Colossal Sword was. Makes me think there's something special about Fire Giant under the hood to allow him his bigass health bar--- or maybe Colossals aren't so hot :c
@@y-ax2-bx-c5 I think the difference is his buffs and he is using blunt weapons, I fought him using a strike weapon which probably calculates differently.

currently doing 10 vigor run and on my 30th attempt for fire giant, i expect many more to go but thats part of the journey to learning a boss. great fight
@@keretaman I had a mage build, I ended up killing him using lorettas longbow spell pretty much, but it felt awkward. I should have gone much more close combat and would i do the fight today I would use some carian melee spells more like this video :p Fire giants fireballs from his hands are deadly at range.

You have to attack repeatedly. He got the stagger bc the club does high stagger damage but also he is constantly landing fully charged R2s-if you have a colossal weapon it can be easier, but not if you are passive and pick and choose your hits bc enemy stagger gauges regenerate
Charged strong attacks, and ashes of war with high stagger are key, try spamming square off with a longsword and you'll actually see staggers happen quite often.
What I find most incredible about this battle is your patience to keep dealing this tiny damage to the fire giant, unlike me, if I have to deal more than 3 hits I get lazy

Run to the left slightly diagonal towards the boss, you can avoid being hit by all the yellow orbs!!
If I’m ever invaded by a naked dude w a stick I just submit to t he fail immediately.
Especially if they walk towards you, you know you’re fucked

I literally had to resort to cheesing this boss by making him instakill himself by falling off a ledge at level 100+, this is CRAZY!
Tbh i'm really curious how you managed that cause i thought every boss was programmed like Margit so they couldn't fall off cliffs.
He's actually not that bad, probably my favorite to help people with. His most troublesome attack is the avalanche one

When you smacked him in the fingers, the first thing that came to mind was the Robin vs Little John fight scene from Men in Tights.

Insane how you manage to stagger him with a club and I´ve never staggered him with two giant hammers. This game is something else.
