Thank you so much for the video…. I love the smith Waite centennial deck. I have posted a centennial review on my channel as well. I have enjoyed your video very much so I have subscribed to your channel to be able to watch more often! 😊

Thank you for this comparison! The vintage one kept appearing in my dreams for two weeks straight that I started to seek for it, but while I searched for it and went deeper into tarot world, I found the centennial and fell in love with the coloring and many people said it's a good deck for beginner, I don't know which one I would prioritize to buy. lol. Thanks to this I could have more objective perspective on both decks!

The vintage looks like unfinished coloring work, would’ve preferred if it was all colored in with the softer/wash out tones and vintage effect

This video was so helpful! And also, I still have no idea which one to get haha!!! Why is it so hard to pick an RWS version?? :P
(But seriously, this is the exact comparison I was looking for :)

I’m so glad it was useful in some way, even though it didn’t clarify anything for you lol 💗

It's because they have so many small differences. Sometimes you'll like some cards from one deck, and other cards from another, which mames the choice almost impossible!
These comparison videos are really helpful.

Marylyn of Tarot Clarity recently did a comparison between the Centennial and a deck from Make Playing Cards, by Conrad Steyn. The MPC was looked at by a woman who has an original deck from 1909. This woman said the MPC deck was the closest in appearance to the 1909 deck that she has. The colors are even more muted than the Centennial, and the backs are Roses and Lilies. I like the Centennial, but that Conrad Steyn deck is wonderful. I definitely have that one on my list.

over 700 years ago tarot cards were made in italy and were used only for games like scarto and baronetti

I own both and I've had the Centennial since 2014. I have gradually fallen out of love with the Centennial - I cannot read with it professionally because of its ageing effect. Conversely, I love the Tarot Vintage for its aged and vintage look and it's a deck I reach for regularly.
The Centennial has always been controversial because of its aged tint; for me it has become more and more problematic.

Thank you for sharing your Beautiful Decks
I like the colors of the Centennial
But I prefer the drawings and images
    Of the Vintage Tarot
    I actually don't have a traditional
    Rider Waite deck yet
Just Decks based on the system

Cheap, horrible tuck boxes are always such a disappointment. To me, it signals that the publisher doesn't care enough about their product.
A nice tarot deserves a good box.

I like the Cenntinial better but the Vintage is different enough that I might get it in the future. Is it a linen finish on the deck? When you brought the Vintage up closer I did see a little more color I liked it better.

Esthetically I like the consistency of the Vintage, however it's deviation of the original art direction intended by Pamela Colman Smith hampers me from using it.

You have NO idea what a flip through is sopposed to be at all. You took FOUR MINUTES before I even saw a card. Your welcome for the help.
