I have to install one for a gas dryer. I have a 3/4 pipe.....are all dryers 1/2 connections?
There is little fittings that you can get from a local hardware store, if you ask and it needs to reduce down or up to a bigger size. Just check your oven and match it to the pipe with the reducers! Hopefully this helps!
What’s the process of purging the gas line when turning the system back on? Leave ‘er wide open until you smell something like rotten eggs? Ha
That’s correct! Ding Ding ding!! Hahaha. For real though. You’re not wrong. Opener up, until you smell gas. Then shut back off the shutoff and turn on appliance. Still may take a moment but many moments less than not purging it first. Some might even think the system is not working. Like me once haha I’ll be here if you have any questions hopefully that helps!
If it’s a hot water heater, do you really need to heat that hot water.

You ever installed a wall heater shutoff valve without turning off the gas at the main, yep the pressure gas comes out but ya just grab the replacement and tighten it on as fast as ya can

Shouldn’t you use yellow tape that’s a few bucks more not the blue. Yellow tape is rated for gas. Blue Teflon tape is rated for water.
It just depends on what type you get the tape I got is good! Just make sure you read the labels, good question!
