Great job! It looks so clean and nice. When I remodeled my basement for my mother-in-law, I was afraid of using a drop ceiling because of the material. (Dust, stains, etc) but that looks like a good product. I made certain to install soundproofing insulation in the walls and ceiling. (2 coats of Drylok on the concrete walls first then frame & insulation) I did something similar to your closet doors on a feature wall. I wish I painted the wall black first like you said.

Me and my wife are looking to move to New York and we know they have basements so here I am also that closet you did was amazing I love when reclaimed barn wood is used in a house the basement looks amazing
Also I love your father and daughter relationship I have a 5 year old I’d love to make a basement for make a little man cave for us he’s 5 years old and we live in AZ and we don’t have basement here unless you live in areas that provide that and you pay a lot for extra space in the valley I will use CZcams in the next years depending on our move and if it happens if it does I’m going with the reclaimed wood idea and the roof idea you and your father used

Really turned out nice! And that Armstrong ceiling system is definitely the way to go when you don't have much height and it looks a lot easier to install anyway. And I got to say I like how you creatively hid the closet. Looks good.
