In the second game of the Friday Doubleheader. We are on the final calendar day of the 2024 Regular season for the 2024 MLB Season playthrough series. This game we have a National League Central battle featuring the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs. Reds are already in the playoffs as a Wildcard team. The Cubs are currently sitting in the final Wildcard position, one game up on the Arizona Diamondbacks with the Cubs magic number being 1. A win for the Cubs they make the playoffs and all 12 playoff teams are locked. However a loss still opens up a door for Diamondbacks in which if that's the case, it will guarantee a double header Saturday and sets up a possibility for a Sunday game in case the NL East isn't settled by the end of Saturday.
