I’m happy you talked about robes, dressing gowns (yours is incredible), smoking jackets and slippers! You’re keeping the content fresh for us. Production and presentation are both getting better and better as well. Bravo, as always.
Brown pea coat is such a smart call, thanks man
You got it!
For some reason I really enjoyed this video. Longer than usual, laid-back and honest recommendations. Good job Brian!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really appreciate the extra effort for going above and beyond the usual winter wardrobe video. Well done.
I loved the houndstooth overcoat, I will be on the lookout to get one. Great statement piece. Nice work.
Happy New Year! Great list, Brian. The big one I'm saving up for is No. 1, but all of these would be great! Thanks, as always.
Great video Brain! Love how in-depth you went with each essential, especially love the woven gloves.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the comment.
Stellar video offering! I sincerely believe that you nailed it. By the way, I'm completely digging your bearded look... you're totally rocking it. Brian, your content has continued refine itself and become your brand.
Top tier content as always Brian! Thank you for these awesome recommendations!
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment!
Great suggestions as usual. I don’t have a flannel suit but I did just pick up a couple pairs of flannel trousers this winter. I’m having fun trying them out in a variety of outfits, from dressed up to more casual.
Awesome!
Phenomenal tips as always, Brian! My recommendation for rather reasonably priced dressing gowns is the German-based brand Baturina Homewear. They produce handmade dressing gowns and smoking jackets, made in Hamburg of phenomenal fabrics. Both ready to wear and made to measure options are available for less than 500 Euros.
Thanks for the recommendations, Benjamin!
I love the bold dressing gowns New & Lingwood have, but I personally think they are to fancy for wearing in an average persons house (like myself), it is more fit in the environment of a luxurious home.
Hi Brian
Always Enjoy Your Essential Videos
Love The Upgrade Looks !!
Thanks
Appreciate the comment and support, Leonard.
Wonderful video Brian! Really enjoyed the deliberate pace and level of detail. Great content as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I particularly love the look of the velvet smoking jacket and the Black Watch plaid slippers!👌🏼
Thanks!
Amazing Styles in this Video!
Awesome list, Brian! Man, I'm with ya on the Bean Boots. A staple for me as well. Such a reliable classic.
So good!
Excellent choices, pricey but excellent!
Very solid list! I need to get some really nice slippers. Just ordered a few silk scarves
Sweet! Many thanks. Our scarves?
Excellent video Brian. I never even considered a dressing gown. Saw it in the movies but thought it went out of style years ago. Thanks for sharing.
Dressing gowns are NEVER out of style! Thanks for the comment.
Great selections. Happy New Year
Thanks, Johnra. Same to you!
Wow! #5 Dinner Jacket looks awesome with what you've shown. James Bond, look out! And the #10 Overcoat hounds tooth pattern is interesting. I like a grey with a subtle window pane pattern myself, and yet to purchase one. Nice vid.
Many thanks, Christopher!
Very good tips. Well done sir.
Loved the video...and the beard! :) Keep up the good work!
The smoking jacket looks so awesome. So epic.
We've got one with your name on it! Thanks for the comment, Trevor.
God bless you, even tho you retired from doing this.
God bless you, I can educate myself more about this!
Omg that Houndstooth Balmacaan Coat!😍🔥
best channel on CZcams. Cheers B. You inspire
Brain, I'm a huge fan of your channel! I like your style and it serves an inspiration for developing mine . That said, with all the shirts, sweaters and jackets, I find you look best in a simple black turetleneck sweater (and Cartier americaine) that you wear for the Q&A with Robin. Any chance for a Black Monochrome video? It has been many years since I switched to all black, and found that not every item looks good in that color, and layering is practically impossible (it all looks like one shapeless blob). Cheers!
In the last three months I have purchased more vests and v-neck sweaters in different colors. It's winter time and I love wearing v-neck sweaters and vests with a shirt and tie at work. OH!! I love your beard. 👍🏾👍🏾😊😊
Thanks so much! Appreciate the comment.
Great video as always. Would love to see your opinion on Spier & Mackay's jackets, shirts etc. Might be something worth looking into
Thanks, John. Have wanted to check out Spier & Mackay for a while,
Great essentials! Some of the options reminded me that I need to hang around people who can invite me to more "classy" events. 😆😆
Haha. Thanks for the comment!
Your wardroom is insane. Cleanest dude on CZcams!
Too kind. Thanks for the comment and support.
We miss you Brian, always amazing
I appreciate that!
Your best video nice and simple 👍
Glad you liked it
Best Men's fashion channel on the internet thanks Brian from Sydney !
I concur with your sentiment 100%
Melbourne Australia.
Too kind. Thanks for the support.
Cheers!
great video! Can you do one with denim jackets?
Hey Brian.. Few of the best advices I took from here!
Can you suggest what to wear when visiting people at their home tbh avoid disrespecting by being over dressed.
I just watched Casino a couple days ago! So incredible to learn Robert De Niro was actually wearing a dressing gown
I need more Bags In Trees content on this channel, give the fans what they want!
LOL
Loving the beard Brian. Suits you Sir!
Thanks, Nick!
Would be awesome to see a video on how you clean your luxury fabric like cashmere and wool
Will really try to spend less on clothes next year, but a peacoat might be on the list.
That smoking jacket is beautiful
Thanks Brian. Like the beard. 👍🏻
Many thanks, Ron!
How is this channel not a 1mil+ subs?!! Another killer video brother.
Thanks! And IDK?!
You look like a stud with the beard.Kudos!
The beard is giving what it’s supposed to be giving!👍🏾
Love the content! What are your thoughts on cardigans? Can you do a styling video if you are a fan of them?
Great idea!!
The number one for me is a lambswool cardigan under a polo coat; you can go the whole winter with those. I liked the tip on the flannel suit, indeed very useful ;)
as for the dressing gown, I'd skip it because if your apartment doesn't have a touch of sophistication, chances are that this piece will add an unrealistic wealth status
Great video Brian 👍 and really nice video quality! Had any updates? Some how it just seems crisper.
Hey, Lasse! We're shooting with a new lens on for the a-roll (Sigma 18-35 at f/1.8--amzn.to/3faNMlg). And using a larger light source. That could be it!
Can you do a video on how to style light blue jeans in formal settings?
I went from modestly looking to upgrade a basic capsule essential wardrobe to nodding along to statement house shoes *stroking my beard* "yes, yes...this will do."
The lockdown beard? Looks nice!
Yay
Im first! Yehey!😊
Nice.
The master.
@2:55 I thought I was watching Gentleman's Gazette for a sec, lol
I live in the African tropics ! But watch to the end for the love of the work🌴🌴🌴
Really appreciate that!
Excellent video again my friend! I'm going to look at your HHS x MA collection.
Go Blue we beat OSU😁
Boom. Thanks for the comment!
Was scanning the comments while watching the video. Saw this. As a Wolverine, I'm obligated to respond GO BLUE HAIL TO THE VICTORS!
@@Lasciatemi_Guidare Yes sir!
The featured black gloves are made in Gloversville - ah, that pesky 'r' always gets in the way!
Haha. Very close to my hometown!
What brand is that jacket closest to you on the rack ???
Great video as usual.
I want to recommend adding more detail for items listed on the website. Knowing stuff like whether the buttons/button holes are hands sewn or not would be nice.
Will more knitwear be coming to the site?
Thanks for the feedback.
Hi, I saw your post about Jaques Marie Mage. Could you review on youtube?
Great video! I see you have grown a beard. 👍🏽
I've found the Macy's Club Room or NAADAM brands to also be very affordable cashmere!
Thanks for dropping the recommendations, Nathan!
Another brand that has affordable cashmere is Daniel Cremieux found in Dillard’s. I have several of his cashmere v-neck sweaters… very nice!
you should do another q&a video
I got a nice balmacaan from banana Republic after this vid and god damn I never realized how good overcoats could look.
A good, "neutral" sweater such as the grey one you are wearing in the vid is such a necessary addition. I find that it elevates my more casual outfits and allows for great versatility with lots of different shirts and outfits. The turtleneck, on the other hand - that's an item I learned how to wear through your videos and it's one of my favorites. Both are a must IMHO.
As for the dinner jacket - do you find occasions to wear it? It looks VERY formal, almost to a point I can't see myself using one in any event I've ever been to.
Cheers
Hey, Yoni! I wear the dinner jacket mostly during the holiday season. It's great for nice dinners out (or in...)
.. ive got a great turtle neck cashmere sweater from Banana Republic in their 20% off section.. originally $150.. i paid $80..
#3 was never needed in Korea because we have warm floors (ondol) and thus rooms. Also that brown pea coat looks more dapper everytime I see it! - Han
Nice! Thanks, as always, Han.
Would love to know the Overcoat at 1.19?
Will a House tour come once you are finished with reno?
Brian, you’re rocking that facial hair. It looks great on you
Oh thank you!
Liked your videos. It was informative and taught good lessons. It was one of your most educational videos and happy that is was not sponsored by any products. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sponsored videos are not inherently bad, especially if the content creator is selective and believes in the product. It’s pretty obvious when it’s the opposite case.
So Brian, it’s ok to wear suit pants and jacket separately? I was taught it was a faux pas to do that, but maybe that was just an old dog teaching me. Thanks!
Yes, but not all fabrics will work. Flannel, cotton, and tweed are the easiest.
@@hespokestyle thanks!
In mild climates with no winter, the wardrobe focuses heavily on suits and blazers. They can be worn even in hot weather. You can have style, variety, and you can layer.
Hey Brian off topic style question: Would you happen to know where I can get a Midnight blue Velvet dinner jacket with shawl lapels? Kingsman style? I've been trying to find one but no luck, thank you in advance!
Certainly! We can make anything you are looking for even if you don't see it in the shop. I would recommend booking a FREE virtual appointment to see what we can do for you: www.michaelandrews.com/booking?location=HSS
@@hespokestyle Fantastic! I look forward to working with you once I am ready, thank you sir!
Are the links to buy the products for the actual products shown in the video?
Mostly. Some of the items shown are old and not available anymore. If that's the case, I've linked to an item that is as similar as possible.
I appreciate the detail(and the new setup) but. . . What happened to the upper lip glory?!
Also, what do you think of a double-breasted mid grey flannel suit. And kinda none related, do you know how much Mohair costs as opposed to pure wool? Thanks!!
I have a DB suit like this one as well. I wear the one in the video a lot more because of the versatility.
This was an excellent video with a great presentation. Even though most of the specific items were a miss for me, I still enjoyed it. That said, the item that most got my attention was that first pair of gloves. They were amazing. Unfortunately, living in the Houston area means they aren't a need component of getting out the door. Thanks for the high quality of your content.
Thanks, Joe! Appreciate the thoughtful comment and support.
Brian should be casted as the next James Bond
Yes, he should.
As a Scot, unfortunately the Hunter boot is an essential 😩 😂
Haha. Totally!
Brian unironically looks better with Grey hair then without it

Keep.your beard man. That gives you class and a nice aura . My 2 cents.
Its hard for me to find classic fit suits of good quality. Suitsupply suits fit too tight for me. Where do you get your suits?
Right here! hespokestyle.com/shop/
@@hespokestyle just created profile
Beautiful beard on you
Thanks!
I have returned for bearded Brian

My man got swag but need some doe to keep up with his liking
The dress robe was a real eye opener for me, thanks. No offense, while I'm open to a red velvet suit, the one you showed with the rope clasp makes you look like you work at a circus. I think that when you going for something dramatic like velvet than simpler is better
SUMMARY:
0:49 Grey Flannel Suit
1:43 Cashmere Sweater
2:48 Cozy Robe
3:52 Leather Gloves
4:44 Dinner Jacket / Smoking Jacket
5:50 Silk Scarfs
6:31 Casual Warm Coat
7:13 All Leather Footwear
8:16 House Slippers
9:07 Statement Overcoat
Cheers.
Should keep the beard for sure !
Cheers!
Keep the beard. It looks awesome
Height??
Can someone who owns a cat also own a cashmere sweater, or really any fine knitwear? That’s one of my biggest struggles with owning nice clothes. It gets ruined too easily. I try to remember to only wear it when I go out, but inevitably I come home with it on, forget to take it off immediately, pick up a cat, and get a snag. It’s frustrating. I’d give up the cats were it my choice, but I’m married, so….
No hat?
Not in this list!
Bailed out after dressing gowns, shocking!!
So what about the not rich guy who does not have a big budget but wants to look good. It seems most your stuff is on the higher end. What about the guy who lives in the midwest with poor quality stores anymore. Like Peoria IL, we have lost the better brick and mortar stores that you could buy classic styles on sales. No Macy;s or anything like that here anymore.
I'm 40 years old, I work in an important company in a high position, but even so (my point is, I'm not an artist or anything) your selection seems a bit cheesy to me. There are some nice details, but overall, it would seem like you're dressing Bruce Wayne or a movie banker rather than a man in the 2020s.
If you are not 70 years old and your name is not Hugh Hefner there is defenetly no option to a dressing gown
All I have to say is that it is your loss.
@@hespokestyleok maybe as a party gag like you sad ;) keep up the good work
not many fashion tips i'd take from an american
