I skipped over this vid once before, my mistake, to see Gerry again is awesome, there is only 1 Rory but Marcel puts his heart and soul into it, I'm thankful for that, any friend of Rory's is a friend of mine!

Well I mean not literally sound like Rory. I just mean for him it must feel as if Rory's spirit is with him. You are right Rory Gallagher is one of a kind. But for me playing and or listening to him as well as any other artist you just can feel the passion and the heart and soul behind the guitar.

Ummmmmmmmmm...NO. He's playing a replica of Rory's Strat; he's playing through a Vox AC 30 like Rory; and I'm sure he's using a Hawke Treble Booster just like the Master........ Gerry, Ted, and Marcel are playing it fantastically.... But no, I can't agree that it sounds just like Rory. The only thing that ever sounded just like Rory was the man himself..... And he was one of a kind.

Sounds more like a fender amp. I've seen him with an ac 30 and fenderamp or a replica.
He's using a hawkbooster, I've seen it on the Top of his amp sometimes. It's also a replica made from the specs of the original. The guitar is also a replica.
I've had the fenderstratreplica once for 3 weeks. The sound gets close, but it is not nailing it.
The strat from this player doesn't look like the fender custom shop model.
Even Rory's Strat has been modified serveral times, from the hardware and the wiring.
The guitar itself was unique sounding from the beginning.
Rory used many boosters and effects, you can not get anymore nowadays.
And also the effects and the amps he used, have been modified through the years.
And with that analogue equipment and the tube driven amps he used, it is like it is today, they sound all different from each other, even if they are brand new.
Rory's sound changed over the years and he played a lot of amps and mixed them.
He played many Marshals, Fenders, Voxes, Ampegs...
I do believe, its possible to get closer to the original sound, with an expensive efford.
And the other thing of course are Rory's Hands and Soul, which were absolutely unique.
I'm also missing the fire Rory used to spread in his younger days or lets say until the end of the 80's.
Anyway the drummer and bassist are not in their 20's anymore.
It also wouldn't be fair to compare Rory to Marcel.
Marcel is a good blues player and he's playing with an unforgivable dry soundsetting.
I've heard some sounds of the band, which I considered really good.
Anyway they are playing near to my place in 4 days.
I'm gonna get there, have some glasses of beer and enjoy a three piece band with a spartanious setup, without all the effects that are ruining so much of the direct transmission of the sound, which comes from the fingers and heart of the musicians.

@@mannsprichtdeutsch8833 I always thought his best sounds came from that battered 59 fender bassman combo with the range master treble booster never really liked the Marshall tones a bit too much distortion for me.
He had a good sound in 82 using a combination of the AC30 and 2 early Mesa boogie combos and I think a Marshall combo.
It's not really fair to criticize this Dutch fella I mean before we even start because it's literally an impossible job I mean who the fuck could sound and play like Rory give the guy a break man he's a fukin very good musician.
It must take some balls and the passion he has is evident.
The gear is close enough in my opinion.
I mean a strat is a strat some are great some are shit wether it's a squier or a custom shop they either have it or they don't besides electronically it was anything but a 61 strat I'd say they were probably repairs rather than modifications for sonic effects but I could be wrong I don't know it all but it all comes back to the player's fingers and soul which no amount of gear will deliver.
