Eric was absolutely terrified about doing interviews. If you watch this and he Donahue interview he barely speaks and is very awkward. Cher being the amazing woman she is helped Eric through a lot of his fears. Making a movie and doing an interview are two totally different things. Eric was a shy kid and Cher was the one to help him through these needed and contracted promotional interviews stars do when they make a movie.
