One of my faves, too :). Can't beat the post-Mod, (slightly) pre-Psych The Who. Those singles!!! Man. Strictly the best stuff they ever did. Forget Who's Next, Tommy (ehh...naw, seriously, those records are amazing, shit, The Who's studio discards were better than 99% of their contemporaries finished songs)...those first three albums, sheer GENIUS. Not old enough to have seen 'em with Moon (unfuckingfortunately) but the Kids Are Alright 25th Anniversary Tour was the second ever gig I attended (first was Stevie Wonder at 8 years old), perspex box notwithstanding they were FUCKING GREAT, then saw 'em do Quad in Hyde Park in '97. Or was it '96? I always forget...anyway they were even better the second time. Quad is probably my fave post-Tommy LP.

A hit play is where Serpico hits the director, Max. This film is so astounding on many levels; now I've got a reason to build a time machine, take this film back to 1970, locate a plasma TV and DVD player, and several pounds of platinum, Captain Kirk.
Some of these movies TEACH. Such as Joe Vs. the Volcano, or Night on Earth, and definitely -- RUSHMORE. Can't decide which actor I liked best (well, Olivia, but I even liked her in Below and The Postman) but I think Bert, the barber. Bravo.

Best version of the song they ever recorded for sure. From their live at Leeds album. Tempo is definitely sped up tho so its gonna sound different on Spotify. Actually think it improves it and definitely works better for the most chaotic scene in the movie. The jostling camera shot in the back of Bill Murray's car while he tries to avoid running people over is fucking genius.

Wes Anderson may get in stylistic ruts (rehashed milieu, an uninspired ensemble of great actors who aren't that great together, predictable conflicts steering the surface plot), but that's superficial stuff, and he's surely aware of it... beneath the surface and between the lines (where it matters), there's breathtaking ingenuity, and, when everything's considered, he's a startlingly brilliant director. But, even with that aside: WES ANDERSON ALWAYS PICKS THE COOLEST F'CKING MUSIC IN THE WORLD!
