Michel’le is a great example to never judge a book by its cover. It’s amazing how the body works because you wouldn’t expect someone who talks so high to be able to sing the way she does. It’s absolutely remarkable!
Well said!! Agree!
She may be the smallest little lady you'll see, but she is definitely the biggest voice you'll ever hear. Her career should've been commercially successful globally like a Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. But that may have been too much for her considering the evilness of the industry and how innocent and sweet she is. Michel'le has been mistreated by so many people. She's been through a lot and I wanted to cry for her on every episode of Marriage Bookcamp during her season a few seasons ago.
I feel like her being connected to Dr. Dre definitely put a hault to her promising career. He basically ruined it for her and her connections. What make it worse is how she had to turn to Suge Knight for protection because at one point, he made her feel safe. She's 1 of my favorite singers 💖
She was on drugs
This “Explained” series is like a masterclass session of learning how singers sing differs from how they speak.
As for this session, I notice that how the throat not only connects to the mouth, but I am noticing how the confidence plays a role of the singer to sing. In a sense from the navel around the gut area is where I mean. Also where lower navel is where the creativity could play a contribution too.
Thanks you ❤
@@BlackMusicArchive you’re welcome ☺️!
@@BlackMusicArchive question: when it comes to singing and speaking, is it okay to have nut based (like almond, cashew) while doing vocal training or no? Do you mind if you can explain how any type of dairy can affect and effect our vocal chords?
@@BlackMusicArchive keep it up man, I like your channel.
Another good example of this is Wé McDonald. She sounds like a very young girl when she sings but sounds like a woman twice her age when she opens her mouth to sing.
I wish the open throat/low larynx was more prevalent in popular music. Too many small/thin voices nowadays. Too many male falsettoists. Ugh.
Men sing in mixed voice!
Women have Adams apples they just rarely drop and protrude outwards so they aren't visible.
Everyone has them , they protect the vocal chords.
I think you meant they don't have visible Adams apples not that they dont have them. Thank you for the video.
Correct, thanks for watching ❤
Everyone knows what he meant, but thank you for illuminating us. 🙄
Correct, it’s called the hyoid.
Uhm an adams Apple is a larynx that protrudes and can be clearly seen… Most women do not have them but all DO have a larynx. It’s like when someone says “that person has abs”, it’s cause they can be seen but everyone has a rectus abdominis muscle under their fat
the content the people REALLY need. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Thank you ❤
I love her, as a kid I loved “Something in my heart “ and never knew there was a video. It was always being played on somebody system in the late eighties. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Michel'le didn't deserve the beatings from DRE,what a cowardly &&&hole.He also assaulted a black,female reporter.Suge didn't bear her,according to Michel'le.
Was just listening to her the past week. Found her in 2013 and loved her since.
Since her song climax from Something in my Heart goes up to F5 and it sounds high for her I assume she's a mezzo soprano. The highest I heard her go live is G5. She doesn't go higher.
She's just so unique.
I'd agree. She has she has one G#5 that she did in the studio. From what I see and hear when she sings, I don't think she's comfortable above E5/F5.
crazy cause i was just trying to figure out if she’s a soprano or not lol
@@BlackMusicArchive ...I don't think she is; she once said she gets lightheaded 🤷🏽♀️
She would've done great in voice overs.
She does the narration for her biopic “Surviving Compton”. It makes the movie even better
@@SuiteVII I think he means as far as for cartoon and animation
Yeah I was referring to animation. I heard her voice in the movie... it added depth to the story. But animation would be a gift that keeps on giving.
@@juanbishaw4358 right? she sounds just like a cartoon character lol.
It has always been interesting to me how she has that larynx situation but sounds so powerful. And yes, those soft spoken artists who blow you out the water with full diaphragm release.....whew, they are awesome.
I never really knew she talked like that but I can’t say anything cause I was bored pre mature and it came with problems. I always try to be strong and positive about it . Michellle is definitely a unique spirit
Incredible video, I love Michel’le! She has an amazing voice and her self titled record is awesome!
Michel'le was one of my favorites back in the day. Glad to see you showing her some love!
miss her and r&b divas
Now this is something I wanted to rlly learn more about.
Love Michel’le! ❤🔥❤️🔥🎶🔊
Martina Aroyo 😱Wow!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for doing this video. I remember being floored when I heard her speak for the first time!
Loved her debut album and still jam to it today! Thanks again Black Music Archive!
Simple…Yet powerful lesson. Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing your knowledge 🎤🎶🎵
You better educate! Your analysis is very clear. Thanks for introducing me and many others to Martina Arroyo. The classical comparison is genius.
Sarah Vaughan talked way higher than she sang. Opera singers have said its better to talk higher like Mickey Mouse so it's not so hard on vocal chords. Michel'le kinda exaggerates it, but she's doing it right.
So goooood!!
First! Love me some Michel’e
There is a girl on American idol 2023 who sings and sound like this #VOCALS
as much as I love that girl, her singing voice doesnt come close to michel'les quality of tone
They do sound almost exactly alike
I always love to hear singers speaking voice. It is so intriguing to hear them switch from speaking to singing and the sound changes. Like with Rihanna, she has an accent then when she sings she can take her accent out completely.
Awesome singer like Anita Baker, Chante Moore , D'atra Hicks, Debelah Morgan, Desiree Coleman Jackson, Lisa Fischer. I love Martyna Arroyo too, like Barbara Hendricks, Cynthia Haymon, Faye Robinson, Gwendolyn Braddley, Wilhelmenia Hernandez....
i loved your vids for years now
thank you thank you thank you
I love her so much
Good job. Please keep these shorts coming.
Thanks you ❤
I think this gives her a much smaller tessitura to sing with but what she has she works!!
Beautiful voice and she’s very nice 🙏🏾
When I was a child in the 90s, I used to think why is she making her voice sound like that. I thought she was faking it for decades until I heard another person with the same speaking voice.
Incredible
Her voice on World Class Wreckin Cru's, Before You Turn Off The Lights was amazing.
Loved her since a child!
Funny story, my aunt(who is 2 years older) would spend the weekends at my house. I had a stereo with two tape decks, a record player at the top so my mom would buy me a bunch of music. I had Vision of Love on vinyl and Mechel'le on tape and my aunt would always make me perform Mechel'le songs while she did all of Mariah's.
Fast forward to today, this heffa doesn't even like Mariah anymore while Mariah and I are still great friends🎉
Unique and Amazing
Thanks!
No, thank YOU!
I've been hearing a lot more about michel'le ever since We Ani started gaining recognition
I love you for this
I love you more for watching ❤
Indeed I did learn something
🙋🏾♂️ She was so cute.
The more you know 💜
There's one in every generation. We've got Wé Ani.
You literally just taught me how to correct my singing in 1 video 🤣😅
This woman can BLOWWWW!!!! She is so pretty and fascinating to me. Just a sweet little woman
❤️💥 keep up the good work!
Thanks you ❤
@@BlackMusicArchive You're welcome
Her career would be more successful, but Dre was hindrance and going with Suga dead zone.
I believe Dre was intimidated by Her, Envy people won't tell you they're envy you. They do these to make sure you won't realized you're talented or stay the same level as them.
Excellent analysis and highly entertaining. Have you considered male vocalists? Michael Jackson vs. Teddy Pendergast?
I always learn from your videos
my vocal coach friend tells me I should.sing with a ping pong ball in my mouth to practice creating space
Could you do a video about Stephanie Mills' singing voice/sound?
Wow michel'le really2 has a unique and high speaking voice😮😮😮anyway i love your channel and your explanation.keep up the good work❤
Oh my God! She speaks more sharply than Janet or Karen Walker.
Have you listen the Wé Ani's voice? She's a singer who participated in Idols and the same
phenomenon happens to her
im here after Like That
I have bad anxiety so I kinda talk like that when I speak to people😭🥺
There’s a girl on American idols marketed similarly
So different I just heard a video from her on youtube talking which prompted my to look up how the hell does she talk like that and sing like this and of course there is a video on it
Hello!
I'm soft spoken but when I sing it don't sound all that different... its louder but my voice don't totally change like that lol
like me she speaks over her larynx
It would be NICE IF THIS GUY TO SAY HER NAME RIGHT
I think she's faking it
Same my brain refuses to believe it’s real
Mariah Carey's voice is the opposite of hers ❤❤❤ but it's because she has nodules.
Does Miche'le have some kind of puberphonia?
It's a high-pitched voice, yes, but she doesn't have any breathiness in the sound or breaks in her speech production/phonation, which are characteristics of puberponia, so I doubt it.
It's really psychological... that's all ill say.
She’s not a great singer to me.
LOL you can't judge singing voice by speaking voice.
She has faked her speaking voice her whole life..She probably thought it would really (Wow) people more..And it worked 😂 .. She wanted to surprise people.. She's still got you all fooled. But not me 😎🍷👌
Dre ruined her. She could've been bigger diva
She does it intentionally so she can make money. It's not real. Leave her alone. She can do what she wants.
What the hell ...is this ASMR
