I would like to know if time could be made to review the Maserati MC20, be it Coupe or Darling
When will the Spanish version be uploaded?
thank you for the review, it would be great if you will add short description about the car your make a review, for example - sales start, price range, trunk capacity, in case its electric car expected range on full charge etc. etc. Thanks!
Love these honest Autogefuhl videos
-Volvo: 'we welcome you to an exclusive preview of our upcoming car. We hope you like it!'
- Thomas: 'capacative BS.'
😂😂😂😂
just in the service of the viewers
@@autogefuehl I love that you keep bringing this up. The only hope for change. The new car interiors in the last 2-3 years have become so bad that I think I'll skip getting a new car after doing so every 3 years in the last 15 years.
capacative BS and shiny but scratchy piano lacque need to go. Everyone hates it. For the rest, I really like the simple but elegant and timeless design of this car, and the very nice fabrics.
@@notsorandumusername This Volvo is a very great suv. Comparing it with the Tesla Model X, it costs 50% less (€80k vs €120k), but the Tesla is more efficient, 400 kg less weight. It's a hard choice, but I think the Volvo offers more for way less money.
looks good on Volvo if they keep inviting him back after criticizing (unlike E for Electric and VW)
Shout out to the camera men. I really appreciate that Thomas' face received enough spot light when he was on the third row. Lost of car reviews filming the third row in ultra low light, which makes viewers can't see the third row space clearly. Thank you.
we tried our best although the studio light was terrible! Thanks so much!
I'm living in nothen part of Sweden. Here , most of the cars are Volvo.1. But to be hones I have some things with this EX . First , doing that system for the headlight it means more money invested there foir a system that should be simple and cheaper to change. That's not the Swedish way of doing things. I'm not a Swedish born person but I know the Swedish way of being . Simple,.And that's not cutting expenses. That get's me to the second point. Here in the north there is no spring or autumn . Winter or summer only. 2. I am curious how the door handles will work at minus 20 and a lot of snow and ice. Of course we have heated garages but the car will also stay outside in the parking lot. We have heating systems for engine and interior but I'v never seen heated door handles yet. 3.Third will be the window controls. Why only 2 buttons ? In the summer we are opening all 4 windowses at once. That means extra time to open all of them . Cut costing ? Front light with extra mechanical system ? 4. The glove compartment opens from the touch screen ? Another complicated stuff ? A lot of people here in north are still using the old Volvos from 20-30-40 years ago. Still working .How about this one ?
Thank you for the feedback!
Totally agree with your assessment on this. The windows especially, I mean we got spoiled going from manual windows to having easy access!
Beautiful comment I agree with you and I think a lot more do too :D
Go for the kia and save ur money
This is a Chinese car, don't know why you expect swedish design choices.
Thank you very much Thomas for making the extra effort of using a light for the dark studio shots as most of these reviews were not possible to see.
Always the greatest effort for you!
Eliminating seat ventilation seems to be a huge oversight. A deal breaker in warm climates.
As a previous XC60 T8 owner - I just ordered the Kia EV9... This video just confirms Volvo is falling behind more and more. This will be ancient when the first cars roll out in 18 months.
interesting, thanks for the feedback !
Volvo is not falling behind, it’s KIA who are accelerating
@@jonatandehnisch202 Volvo is fine. They aren't falling behind. Volvo has to work out the software before this and the Polestar 3 can be sold to customers. Though the exterior is conservative, the interior is nicely updated and Volvo is making the car upgradable through software updates which they do well. Kia and Hyundai are doing quite well but they have their hiccups as well. The Volvo is a more luxurious car than the Kia. I won't say it will be more luxurious than a Genesis version of the EV9 if one comes out, however.
I agree Volvo has lost its touch. It's not a luxury car anymore, and that's for more than 100.000€.
The finishing of a milk truck
Technically the worlds safest suv with all that
I saw a pre -production Polestar 4 on the M25 in UK yesterday.
Good looking car.
Good looking car, more buttons inside would be better ofc. But I have one question, if I want to give a sign to other drivers coming from the opposite direction with high-beam impulse, how long it will take to do that with this fancy light or what is the delay?
I suspect that it will not run with those "eye lights", those are just parking lights: even the DRL are behind it.
I enjoyed watching the Video Presentation 😊
thanks my friend !

I'm on the fence on this one. I'm not the target buyer, though. I want something small, compact, fun to drive. Sporty. The EX30 with over 400 horses is right up my alley!
Just seeing how boring the available colors are tells us all we need to know about this model.
You would be way better of with a Kia EV9 it way beyond the expectations of a Kia. World leading in its segment in tech and quality.
If only I had that kind of a key fob, I would be unstoppable.
hahhaha
Nice Alpina Startimer, underrated.
I'd love to see more Maserati reviews, especially the Levante!
This is the way, Thomas!
hehe
Looks like completely flat-folding seats, ideal for some weekend camping and even transporting the occasional full-size refrigerator 🙂
Wow...this is white beauty...😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
They need to show it in different colors and trims. I'd like to see it with the brown leatherette interior. It seems similar in dimensions to the XC90, not that much bigger. It looks expensive and very Scandinavian.
good review,......... thanks ill just get a minivan
Great overview, thanks again Thomas!
2:38
Thanks 🙏
We showed the frunk, check the video!
That seat folding strap is IDOTIC...it will get stuck under the seat for sure😅😅😅😅
Unbelievable
THIS HAS BEEN ADJUSTED IN THE PRODUCTION VERSION! THEY HAVE ADDED A GUIDE THAT MAKES THE STRAP TILT OUTWARDS SO THAT IT DOESN'T GET TRAPPED UNDER THE SEAT!!!!
@@Kurre. That’s awesome, actually.
Volvo was famously putting the best sound systems into their cars, recent cars came with a beautiful big volume knob, well... Time is changing...
Am I the only person who loves adjusting the volume a lot? Volume knobs (in each car) should be mandatory, not that capacitive B.S.
agree
Are you joking or serious with the best sound systems?
@@tejakszhave you missed the bowers and Wilkins system? It’s far and away the best system under 100k.
@@JakeDrives1 does the xc60 or xc90 have that option? I wanted to buy a new one so tried multiple cars at my local dealer and none of them had. And never seen the option. Maybe its not available here.
Uh… there’s still a volume knob. Not sure what you’re talking about.
Hi Thomas, thank you for the review. I have the EX90 on order but due to delays I'm contemplating cancelling it and going for an EV9. Knowing you have tried both, would you say the seating comfort was as good in the EV9 as in the EX90? E.g. are the seats noticably lower to the floor in the EV9, harder in the seating, not as good thigh support etc. Also, did you get the feeling that the interior in the EV9 is a lot cheaper than EX90, or are they "kind of" on par?
Honestly I more had the impression that the Kia EV9 is more premium and offers more space at a lower price
@@autogefuehl Thank you. That does it, I'm switching to the EV9 👍
Too bad you didn't cover the Renault Rafale unveiling, I'd love to have known your opinion
Where is this? Will this Vaporware ever start production ?
The proportions on the rear look odd to me personally, I feel like they could’ve tightened the height of the ‘C’ shaped indicators
A question, if you use the rigth satellite as a gear, how do you control the wipers?
Left side
And the turning lights?
Also left side via stalk. Wipers via turning
Having three teenagers in the backseat, would they prefer the EX90 or the Polestar 3?
Thomas välkommen till Göteborg och Torslandafabriken
And awesome review as usual
Kia EV 9 and upcoming Ioniq 7- will sweep the carpet with Ex 90, technology as price ✊
Thanks! That was in Germany, but NOW atm I am in Gothenborg actually hehe :) Driving the Zeekr vehicles!
@@autogefuehl A- thought that in the "GPS map on the screen in the car" I could see Gothenburg and location-marked Torslanda
But now you're in Gothenburg - welcome and looking forward to the Zeekr test 👍
Thanks 🙏 yeah that was a demo screen in the volvo!
@@autogefuehl He he- Okidoki 👍🏻😉
0:26 OH MY GOD, IT BLINKS!
Volvo are really turning it up.
Comparing to the Kia EV9 the interior really feels more tight but more comfy, maybe is from the seats or the nice materials and colors combination, when we see the EV9 interior we see lot's of plastic rubber and somehow unsupportive and basic seats! The attention to detail in the EX90 is really makes a good job positioning as a more sophisticated car, as oppose to the Kia Ev9 that as a sophisticated exterior but then a mixed old school new tech interior more around the practicality and well we can make it dirty cause doesn't matter kind of car!
from a real life experience the Kia EV9 22-way driver seat is glorious. And I have driven mercedes S-class with its best seats for years back in the days.
Will the top speed also be reduced to 180km/h on the German market?
yes
@autogefuehl do you find the EX90 less luxurious than the XC90? To me the interiors look like an Ikea sofa.
In some parts yes. Only good thing is that they now offer more animal free materials, they are good
Volvo shows the future to come👏
Luminarには期待してます。
Does that come with heat pump!?
Yes
Not a fan of the taxi bump. It may take some getting used to.
THE EX90 IS KING 👑 🙌🏾
Omg its so beautiful
I seriously volvo never parts from bowers and Wilkins! Some of the best speakers in the business
0:44 I cant get past the wart, as good as the car is.
A PHEV with magna DCT wouldn’t have hurt
They could have made more space in third row. That long front is not needed anymore unless if it is for crash protection. 5,04 meters and cramped third row?
I totally agree. You’d think they aimed at improving the sitting space in the 2nd and 3rd row that from the old XC90, but no. Like you said, its a mystery they couldnt fix that with a lenght of 5,04m. The third row in my oppinion is useless in my xc90
Nice car. I am not a fan of google services. Can it be avoided?
I’m so excited for the electric wagons. This is cool but I wouldn’t get it. I think the electric V60 equivalent will be fantastic
Sad that volvo may not make ev wagon no more
@@sakariyemahamud1707 They probably will make one but it'll be a lifted version.
@@sakariyemahamud1707 they confirmed they’re dropping the V90 but the V60 will remain. I’m guessing there will be one premium sport trim that looks like the polestar engineered V60
The price is.......pfffffffff 100.000$
Presented almost one year ago and still a non really functional show car? What is happening at Volvo/polestar?
Why do we still even have leather as an option in cars anymore when you can get materials of this quality. I doubt most people would be able to tell the difference as they are so good now looking at those leatherette samples
Because leather is a natural material and as such provides unique experience compared to any artificial substitute - smell, it develops patina over time, it's breathable, soft. If you get a good quality leather and you take care of it well (cleaning and creaming) it will last a very long time. Aging process for many artificial substitutes is often questionable.
Similar to laminate vs. wood - laminate can be indistinguishable at a first sight, but you feel the difference.
@@ludovitrybar2650 I get your point but by the time leather gets into a car it so heavily processed with multiple chemicals, adhesives, dyes, sealers etc is not that natural by that point. I’d argue that it’s a natural material when it’s in its natural place. I do get that it can look amazing and beautiful but there are so many more good alternatives now. I was in a new Mercedes with their mbtex leather and I could honestly tell no difference. Many cars with real leather interiors these days are only part leather supplemented by leatherette in lots of panels too. Appreciate your views though buddy 👍🏻
@bscott77 exactly. Even the employees of the manufacturers often cannot decide / tell me what the material is from and need to look it up.
Like @bscott77 says, car leather seats are the farest away from a natural product
@ludovitrybar2650 Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment.
You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. They can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even from plant-based materials (like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum). Or the Polestar 3 e.g. is using pine oil. And even if you still create a leatherette seat the classic way with petroleum base without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is very little in comparison to how much oil is used for other car parts or how much oil is burned for fuel or heating. By ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en). So it is the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
Another interesting article is here:

For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: czcams.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/video.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
Depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the first misuse case, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the priority use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down or even murdered on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse?
We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
Mercedes gives a weird looking EQS ball while everyone else is going beautiful like this EX90 and the Kia EV9.
I find the Kia ugly.
❤❤❤❤
The safest car in the world.
It's cost cutting!
I really hope they have a 5-seater option with more room on the second row. Looks really cramped. :(
Nope a average adult would perfectly fit but he is is 6.5 so he is tall even in the 2
3rd row a small adult could fit
The Polestar will be the one to get - unfortunately they too are following the industry recipe of replacing and removing physical buttons. When will the beancounters understand that those few cents spared in such important details is what might LOSE them the entire sale in the end.
You would think Volvo fixed the 2nd and 3rd row space problems comparing it to the XC90, but no they havent.
Best suv .. but the prices are too high
Exterior is cool, interior ok, but driver position (given the tech) is the place I least want to be in.
Built by IKEA.
If Volvo thinks they can sell EX90 for 80,000 $ then I say they are delusional. I bought my XC90 in 2017 for 46.500 $ and my next car would be an EV for no more than 50,000 $ !!!
Yes but look how much You were earning 6 years ago and how much now. I would say that 100K now is way less than 50 in 2017.
Clark Kent review to Volvo 😊
=)
EX90 or R1S.
Such a 🦕
Isn't it illegal nowdays to have headlights on a moving piece of bodywork? I mean it is kinda the same thing here. Seems like a security risk.
I m surprised myself
The apps for Polestar and Volvo is the worst of all accordimg to a test in Europe. Quite important for pre-heating the cabin in colder environments and checking battery state etc.
i hate my polestar app but the app for my volvo is pretty good actually
#capacitivebs 😂👍🏻
lidar is stupid, it is a light source and sensor. For cameras you already have the headlights.
It is an OK car - but KIA EV9 seems way more premium. It is going to be hard for Volvo to sell this IMO.
WHAT!?!
No. EV9 is more mainstream.
As exciting as this is, the fact that it constantly scans you for attentiveness, intoxication and even illness, and will most certainly have a speed limiter and GPS record, YET still requires you to drive it is just a problem waiting to happen. I'm happy for Volvo but I'm not buying an EV until the seats face the other way and I can just let it drive me while I check my email. Driving with a long list of technologies requiring you to act like a robot is a big turn off unless it comes with a prescription to SSRIs.
No leather interior is gonna be a dealbreaker for people with kids
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic.
The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at czcams.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/video.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: czcams.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/video.html

Wool is animal free?
Volvo Geely
The cars outside looks very futuristic the inside however needs work white leather for the seats would looks fantastic
White ones are available too :)
Polestar 3 no 7 seats what a shame.
Volvo knocked it out of the park with this. However for £30K less I'd take the Kia EV9.
lol
It's a shame that the kia is horrible
@@MrBobberone you're in the minority with that opinion.
uh..........idk.....
it does not look like a Volvo in my eyes
I kinda see a Volkswagen in a bad way
Did they really need to separate the top and bottom lights of the front and rear??
IT looks very much like a Volvo. Put it next to a current XC60. Same shape, same overall design. It's just modernized and they've done away with the grill.
I wish Volvo gave the new EX30 a HeadsUp-Display or a Driver Display. Tilting my head all the time just doesn‘t work for me - and it is less safe, Volvo!
Almost 4,000,000 tesla model 3&y owners world wide now seem to make it work just fine. 👍🏻
you need a zeekr x,ex30’sister
So the Kia EV9 is bigger, cheaper, better made, longer warranty and available in interesting colours. I think I know what I'd choose!
How is the Kia “better made?”
@@chags3512 I can only rely upon the AutoExpress survey in the UK showing Kia is more reliable!
@@chags3512it’s not
Ev9 only 250 km range and 9s to 100km/h
@@michalkopec-browarnicy 336 miles is the official range in Europe!
Weight and cost of EVs is already insane, now making 7 seat SUVs that weigh almost as much as a bus. Thought EVs were supposed to be saving the planet. Once a new gen of battery tech is in production like solid state all these existing EVs will devalue like a broken phone.
You seem to overlook the fact that most car manufacturers have been making SUVs and Crossovers long before EVs
It's all about the profit margins, dividends and executive bonuses.
It doesn't cost that much more money or material to make a sedan than a crossover or SUV, but there's an immediate premium because of perceived value for money.
Stop blaming EVs for something that's clearly a dying business model.
Volvo is is stating as of 3 days ago that for all Nordic countries it will be built in the US - Who is your source?
They say they would have a production plat in China and also in the US, the distribution is unknown to me, do you have any link?
Usually northern American plants are just for the US and Canadian customers - mainly for taxation reasons
@@autogefuehl I talked to Volvo Cars Sweden, Volvo Cars Denmark, and Volvo Cars Norway, who all independently say initial production units for Europe and the US will come from the Charleston plant in South Carolina, and the production will later also come out of China later without specifying when that might be. I have also contacted Volvo Cars Germany, France and Belgium, waiting for a comment. Please feel free to reach out yourself :-)
Interesting. The US plant isnt even ready. I ll check with Volvo PR!
OK got answer: EX90 starts in South Carolina, China later. Polestar 3 the other way around! US customers will always get those from the US plant. Production supposed to start in Q3 2023 so should be starting soon..
Auto może nieźle, ale ten tablet ohydny!
Beautiful from the outside, disappointing inside.
lovely car. though I must say, leather seats on this price point would be nice.
The new material is superior and doesnt harm animals. You can just win
Manufacturers will all move away from leather in time. Volvo's sister car, Polestar, still offers it as an option but Volvo has decided to remove leather from every BEV they make. They'll replace it with Nordico. .Volvo is not presenting an EX90 in Nordico for the press to review at this time.
why are the colors so BORING??
They’re classy neutral colors. Perfect.
Swedish cars have muted colors.
Common Volvo, we are so disappointed about such a mediocre legroom space in the 2nd seating row.
Cut costs everywhere.
Nice car, price is just too high to be a big succes in the eu.
No, price is "too high" for you
The vast majority of these will be bought on hire purchase or leasing. The overall price is irrelevant for most people. It's the monthly figure that matters.
The monthly prices are linked to the rate of depreciation, which will be massive on these (as with most Volvos) given the high list price
@@Sartheris exactly, the amount of range rovers I see people can afford it just fine. Also the XC90 ultimate which I see a lot of and have one are very popular here in the UK too
@@harriska no matter in which country in Europe you are, there's plenty of customers for all car brands
Fuck capacitor buttons!!!
Samochody EV to tylko eksperymentalny etap...
As much as I like Volvo, the EX90 interior space are huge disappointment compare to KIA EV9.
That said, both are outside of my affordable range. 😂
I really want to like this car, but man… those huge touch screens. Yuck.
No knobs and buttons. Forget it. Japanese cars still maintain sanity wrt driving safety.
WTF !? Is there any manufacturing done outside of China these days?
I think these are being made in the United States for the North American market?
They will be at some point, thats the plan
Expensive China-Car 🙈
EQS SUV and IX have cd 0.25 - come on Volvo!
Range is less
