    What I do on CZcams is I sort my set and then record it as an Automix in Rekordbox, I then just add my logo as a full length template and upload to CZcams with a 24 hr scheduled start, if anything gets copyright claimed I remove it from the set. I also delete the uploaded file and then do it all properly. I have been copyright claimed once only, by UMG and I fought that one and WON !

    So much for uploading a spontaneous set on CZcams. First verify if the tracks can be uploaded on CZcams and then make your mix. In my opinion it takes away the spontaneity, intuitiveness and it tends more to static studio production. But CZcams has a larger crowd. Thanks for the video!

      Yeah, it's not that bad. I make a lot of DJ mixes, usually 2 hours in length; it's typically only 2 tracks that were pretty obvious. Look at the record label. For instance, my latest mix had 32 tracks, and two of them were "Restricted in all areas", and those were from "Warner Music UK", and "Different Recordings", both pretty major labels, as well, I have also started to notice which labels do not place restrictions and I now have a spreadsheet, yes, a spreadsheet of labels that I never receive copyright strikes from. I also now have a label in Rekordbox called "Dicks" that i put on all tracks that shows up in the first tag position of all tracks that reminds me not to use for my SC or YT DJ Mixes, I suggest using MixCloud for uploading outside of YT, they have a great platform for DJs to release DJ mixes.

    Great advice Andrew, and I totally agree with you. I had a couple of my early videos blocked as I was using more commercial tracks, i now find that if I use tracks just released they are normally fine a!so.
    I have however had a video blocked but i got in touch with the artist and record company and they updated the track from being blocked to monetized on CZcams, so worth asking👍

    Hey, I love your videos keep up the great work. Just a little tip I have learned with mixes on youtube you can first create a video of just the tracks with no mixing just a blank video and the same thing will happen to tell what songs can be played that way the tracklist can be changed and made without playing an hour-long mixing a ton of times.

    Hello Andrew! Amazing video like always. You right about copyright issues, but I found tricky is that sometimes youtube's and soundcloud's algorithms they clash. For example I made a mashup of well known Hardstyle tracks and youtube let ir through, but soundcloud blocked it straight away. Second thing was when I made a mix using only one artist's tracks, youtube blocked it and soundcloud let ir through.. So like you are saying every single time when I am uploading my mixes I kind of rolling the dice :D Thank you for your time :)

    Great video andrew! I just started my channel up this year and after hearing you say CZcams studios got rid of that track searching feature last year kind of upsets me.
    Had no idea much time and work gets put into the video editing till i started. I am a vinyl user and only have 2 sets now, roughly a 60 and a 90 min. Far from perfection but decent, was shocked the video editing took me 3hrs for the 60 and 5hrs for the 90 min videos!

    • @nt_demon_au9250
      @nt_demon_au9250 Před 3 lety +5

      Not worth bothering with Facebook, they will mute your audio on lots of tracks and you will risk getting banned from Facebook for 3 months.
      You can legally livestream on Mixcloud as the artist gets paid from your subscription money, Twitch will not block anything on your livestream but will mute the audio on suspect tracks on your replays. Follow the above methods for CZcams and you’ll have no issues.

    That’s great advice for pre-recorded mixes on CZcams, but this won’t work for live streaming on CZcams - they still slow down live streams when they detect any copyrighted music (even the one that doesn’t block your video when you’re uploading pre-recorded sets).

    I have a question that’s been on my mind for a good while and maybe you or someone in the comments can answer them, what if a beginner DJ especially a young teenager 15-17 takes on djing, their parents buy them a controller, a computer and they have the standard DJ software licence, but what if they can’t afford tracks themselves to buy off iTunes and beatport and other track stores? Like let’s say I was starting out and I got up to 100 views per mix and people wanted more, and you wanted to make hour mixes, that’s about 20 tracks, each track can cost from 99c - €5.00 and I have seen a track being €5.00 on beatport, how can the beginners afford these tracks especially to prevent them from youtube ripping the tracks they want?

      With Rekordbox, Serato and Denon all including Tidal or Beatport Link integrated then you have a static cost to pay each month on the former. Not sure on the latter and how thats monetised.

  • @sashas3362

    You are promoting an artist when you dj so are entitled to some payment imo. Social media which pays content creators/owners and users for shares/reshares, likes, etc makes copyright violations obsolete because the creator/owner gets paid when people share/reshare the songs/videos/etc on those social media platforms.
