Your skin looks fantastic! I have been using Retin A for two years and I can honestly say it has made major improvements to my skin. I am 45 and get compliments on my skin regularly when I never did before. People are always asking me what I use on my skin. I had to go through a horrible period of peeling for three months before I got used to it. My husband begged me to stop but I didn't. I say this because those of you that are trying Retin A for the first time hang in there. The results are really worth it!

Agree with you on the fact that Retin A / Trentinoin cream is the best thing that really work well to fight aging along with wearing a daily SPF Adding vit c topical serum daily under your SPF is excellent !!! Skin conditions with hyperpigmentation / Dark spots add hydroquinone 4 to 6 % .Sometimes patients have applied it to freshly washed skin still damp have experienced irritation with excessive dryness and or redness. Always wait 10 to 20 minutes after washing before applying. You can expect mild to moderate dryness and flaky for about 2 to 3 weeks until the superficial layers that are thickening are removed.Avoid upper eye area, corners of the nose and corners of the lip. Then you can expect to see smoother and more skin toning from it. Practicing Medical Skin Care Tech for 25 years.

What's this??!! A mature woman talking about anti-aging? I thought only 20-something year olds with no wrinkles are allowed to do that on CZcams!! Ha ha. Anyways, this is GREAT!!! Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information. Honestly, your opinion trumps most of the so-called beauty gurus out there.

Great job on sticking to your routine!

You don't just look amazing for 50, you just plain look amazing. I just discovered you by accident, and I can't wait to watch some of your other videos. You're so wonderful to share with so many some very...sensitive...subject matter. Beauty without vanity -- not everyone can manage that. And, being a woman who experienced surgically induced menopause at 29 (they took everything) with no hrt, I LOVE the name of your channel. :-)

Thank you... For your honesty & showing us the 'real' you. We mature women are shown glamorous (and sometimes barely 30) people in the glossy magazines advertising anti-ageing creams etc.. and we start to feel that we are ageing terribly or lacking in some way. To see that others are dealing with the same skincare issues that I am, and offering honest reviews with helpful tips is so reassuring. The amount of money I've spent over the years & the half empty pots (with just as empty promises) cluttering up my bathroom is shameful. You are truly gorgeous..

Angie you are the best. Your videos are honest and informative and I know that I can trust you implicitly because you put so much research into the subjects that you discuss. I'm a few years older than you (arghhhh!) but I started on Retin A about six months ago after watching your videos - I'm over the settling in period now - and I love it. Keep up the good work, you are great. D x

Hi Angie - TERRIFIC video concerning that "mysterious Retin-A" and it's effects! I love how you moved right thru the video, explaining and demonstrating everything as you went along, staying right on point, and still being so incredibly sweet & likeable, but still wanting to make sure you imparted all knowledge.
And LOVE how you demonstrated tubes, and bottles, and forehead, and Before and After pics. Love your candor, courage, and generosity in sharing all this with us!
I'm looking forward to viewing more of your videos, esp since I'm "of that certain age" (but don't want to take credit for it.. heh) :-) Take good care!

So glad you are loving Retin A & your results are terrific :) You look late 30's, early 40's. I love it, too & have been using it for years ( I just turned 60). Regarding wrinkles around mouth & eyes...forget fillers for those, it is face peels that get rid of those for long periods of time, much longer than fillers & it's just topical, not something injected. You could request a peel for just those areas if you like. Peels are awesome! I have never gotten any kind of filler. To me any wrinkles around your eyes are minimal & if they appear when you smile that's normal & bad lighting sucks for all of us! :)) great review! :) Betty

I love watching your videos. So informative and a joy to watch. So glad I found you a couple months ago.
I'm 31 and in the last year or so started noticing the fine lines around my eyes and dimples.
I always have used moisturizer and lazily used a serum every now and then.
I was amazed at how great my skin started looking after adding an 8% AHA every other night, and a vitamin C serum every morning.
I'm for sure now going to start a Retin-A regime after the holidays calm down.

You have beautiful skin and I def see an improvement with Retin A. I'm 59, went through menopause at 52, and live at the beach. I'm fair skin, fair hair. I used to use baby oil to tan in the 60's through 80's, UGH! I haven't used anything on my skin other than 100% natural products, many I make myself. I recently discovered 100% Pure products and appreciate that there are no chemicals. I love their Argan Oil SPF 30 sunscreen. Although I probably won't do most of what you're doing, I do enjoy your videos.

It mostly comes down to ur exposure to the sun and genetics both favoured her as my dads rich so mum never had to work so much less sun exposure and my family has olive skins and less prone to wrinkles, i am just saying it is possible just use good spf and take d3 supplements if ur not going out in sun

Hey beautiful! I just discovered HotandFlashy 30 minutes ago, watched this video, and had to immediately write and say... thank you, THANK GOD!! I have skimmed a few other videos of yours and can't wait to get caught up on what you have to say. Your videos are well presented, to the point, easy-to-follow, and accurately reflect current research. I'm an ageless 53-year-old, fair-skinned, light blonde with lovely skin. This is true, in spite of my having burned and bistered my skin in youth, and worked for 20 years landscaping without using sunscreen. I credit my skin's resilience to this damage in part, to having consistently eaten a diet very high in raw fruits and vegetables for 30 years. However, speaking to Retin-A, I have to say it is the only product that has ever produced absolutely visible results. I started using Retin-A consistently in 2007 (working up slowly to the highest concentration). At that time I was unhappy with bags and crepey skin under my eyes, as well as crows feet, and so used it under and around my eyes almost in the shape of an eye mask. Three years later, I noticed a very distinct difference in the quality of my skin where the retin-a had been applied and the rest of my face. The pores are smaller, the skin is tighter and smoother everywhere retin-a was applied, while the skin on my cheek (immediately below treated area) had aged normally with larger pores, rougher texture. KEEP USING!! BTW: I have been using it on my browbone and very close up to my under eye area for years with no problem.
Thanks again for all your research, time, energy, and willingness to share. You are awesome for doing these videos.
    Erin

This gives me hope for my eyelids. I'm only 34 but I have droopy upper and lower lids with a deep tear trough. I've had restylane injected into my tear troughs but eventually surgery is going to be the only fix.
I've been a skincare junkie for years and never tanned...the worst I did was sleep in my makeup in my 20s. Since I've been using a potent Retinol (not Retin-A, Nouvelle by Neocutis) I've noticed a huge difference in my skin.
It's not taking long to see results. I'm sold. I'm going to go for Retin-A eventually. The peeling and redness is difficult to deal with if you're working, but since I've been sick for over a year, I've decided now is the best time to get through the peeling phase.
I've found that exfoliating with my clarisonic really helps clear off that dead skin faster.

Angie, I tried the generic and I switched to Atralan because honestly did notice less irritation and flaking and more overall results. I am about 2 years into using it. I wish I had taken before pictures. It truly has made my already acne scarred, sun damaged skin way better than years before. I wish I had started it earlier! You are beautiful, as always!

I am using the same brand you are and so far it's really good. I love it and it is one of the best and most effective acne treatments. Forget benzoyl peroxide. I can't say much about salicylic acid because to me it works int he same way just I notice a difference in my skin texture right away with the retin-a besides the salicylic. I am sold!

Thank you for the update, and I can definitely see the difference in your pictures!!! For the past several months, I have been using Vitamin C with E in it, which I make myself. My age is almost 62 years young & I no longer need to have to get sunspots taken off my face from my dermatologist and my chest has almost totally clear from sunspots and pretty. It has helped with my lines & wrinkles, which I can tell from my own pictures!!!

I'm almost 56 and have been using Retin-A .05% for close to a year. I like it because it seems to even out my complexion. I've never worn foundation in my life nor had acne but I certainly baked like a lizard under the hot sun when I was younger. And those are the wrinkles that the Retin-A seems to help with. You look wonderful. What you're calling blemishes look like freckles to me, I like that look. I've always been envious of people with freckles :-)

Hi! We're the same age and I'm just getting ready to start a "regimen" these days. I love that yours has helped with the crepiness in the eyelids, because that's really the only thing I don't like about how my face is now. I really think people should do what they want in regards to beauty, do whatever makes you feel good, but I don't like thinking about "perfect." There really is no "perfect," for anybody. Or to turn it around, we're already perfect!

Very informative video. I love that you took before and after pictures. I see the difference in your eye area. I have used it since April almost every day. I don't peel that much. I do not see a big difference in my skin yet. I think your skin looks nice and I also think you look very young for your age. You have a very nice contoured jowl line. When that is tight, a person looks young, but when the jawline goes it makes a person look older no matter how nice the skin is. That is my opinion anyways. GREAT VIDEO. :)

I now use RetinA every night. I stopped for a few months and noticed a negative difference in my skin. Since starting to use it again, I am very happy with being able to see the positive difference and will not go off of it again. I do skip a night here and there to use a sheet mask or something but, the good results are not affected by 1 or 2 days. I love how well you cover every aspect of products you mention. Thanks for a great video.

Thanks for this info. I'm 53 so I grew up in the same era as you except I never tanned because even as a teenager I was conscience of sun damage. When I turned 40 I started using a 50+ sunscreen every single day all over. I've never had Botox or used retin A but my skin looks really good. My friends say I look 40. I'm proof that shunning the sun does make a difference but I am considering Botox for my lips. You can stave off aging but eventually it catches up with you sigh...your videos are a great thing for us older women who refuse to just give up. Please keep vlogging.

Another great video Angie! Thanks so much for the closeup, you are much braver than I am, and I appreciate that. I think I need to ask my GP for some Retin-A. I also feel like I should see a dermatologist now that I am about to turn 50. I was a sun worshiper my entire life, the darker the better!! (yikes) I am beginning to smarten up now. I would love to have something done to my "11's". I also have crepey eyelids and wrinkles around my upper lip (although a non-smoker). Thanks for all of your advice Angie!
