A weeks gone by and it hasn't stalled or lost power once. Way less stressful driving in to work not wondering if it will stall in traffic with cars coming up behind. Thanks Alvin!!

The good old tap test.. the simplest thing to do fast and the most overlooked troubleshooting step. Well done !

Yes, often overlooked, and I'm guilty of that myself...you being in electronic repair would be more than use to doing the tap test! It sure did save a ton of testing and probing in this case!
      Thank you Ron! 😊

@@J_R_Shop Very true my friend.. When I work on Tube Amp, I connect a dummy resistor speaker load ( so I don't have to hear the 800Mz tone) , and run an audio signal through the amp and connect to a scope. I take a stick and tap around.. when I see the sinewave jump, bingo.. I found many bad ceramic disc caps this way.

Hi Sean, if it's only happening during hard braking...it's possible there is an issue with the brake booster, that is causing a vacuum leak. Try disconnecting and plugging the brake booster line, and see if that changes the performance issue...just remember you won't have power brakes with the line disconnected, and braking will require more effort. If you have a scanner, check the codes, also if your scanner does real time monitoring, check the fuel pressure...may be the fuel pump is starting to fail.
The stalling from a bad brake booster makes sense, but it shouldn't cause power loss when the brake isn't being applied...so maybe more than one issue at the same time? It's a long shot...I have had this kind of issue when the timing belt has jumped a tooth, lets hope it's not that.

My 2017 Journey stops out of nowhere. The engine shuts off but the radio and lights stay on. Advance checked for any codes and there are none. Crankshaft replaced, new battery as well. I’m at a loss. I’ve had it 5 months and could only drive it 1 month and pay monthly for it.

I have not worked on a 2017 model...but it sounds like a similar issue to the one I fixed in this video, the connection to module needs to be cleaned. The Journey in this video has not randomly stalled again since I clean the contacts in the plug to the module.
It's a dangerous issue to have...the Journey in this video stalled a couple of times in high traffic intersections, pretty scary stuff for the driver!

      Yes John, very lucky!
As you know, finding intermittent electrical issues can be difficult, and with out any codes for a guide...the old time trusted wiggle/shake method comes in handy as a starting point. I started this video expecting that trouble shooting this issue would be more technical, and when it wasn't, I figured it wasn't worth posting the video. Then after looking at the footage a couple of times I decided that as basic as it is, someone out there may get the little help they needed.
Not all repairs are this simple!! 😳😡😥

Hi my wife just messaged me and said the car is stalling during the harder braking and she is losing acceleration, I'm leaving work now to go look at it, can you message me back and give me an idea of what else to check for so if I need to buy something I can on my way home, thank you. Btw I've recently had a transmission fluid leak and I've replaced and resealed the transmission fluid pan

      Hi Mike,
You have a lot going on with that Journey, what DTC codes are you getting?
The ABS/Traction control can be a simple as a wheel speed sensor or TPMS, but the engine issues can range greatly, the fault codes may help lead to the problem(s), and eliminate the guess work.
I wish I could give you more to go on. 🤔
