This is a brand new series I'm trying out to give an retrospective analysis on an operator based on CN players' perception on them over the 6 months since their release on CN.

For Swire S1, note that Saria cycle time is 5.2s not 4s due to SP lockout on Saria. Swire has no SP lockout due to her coin mechanic
I've found Swire S1 to sadly still be really bad for the reasons you mentioned. Great analysis on the skill, and Swire in general!
I basically never comment on these sorts of videos, but I have to say the level of depth and the amount of information you put into these videos is basically unparalleled. I'm a total Arknights noob, who just copies strategies from Kyo and just uses whatever operators everyone else says are good. These videos have done more for my understanding of the game and the operators within it, than basically anything else I've seen relating to Arknights. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for mentioning Mr. Nothing strat whith the last knight, it has been a tough boss for me because I don't have Gnosis, now I'm going to look for that strat.
Helps if you take Erato as well since the sleep helps him build his talent easier, although I believe there’s some really cursed micromanaging involving cancelling skills to override his attacks to solo the knight…
@@slonik0002 It's pretty straight forward but the strat requires Mr Nothing module stage 2 for the extra second of stun, S2 SL7 is fine.
The sleep/stun lock cycle goes : Erato 5s Sleep => Mr Nothing 5s Stun => Erato 5s Sleep => Mr Nothing 5s Stun => repeat for a long time
Erato S1 needs 9s to reuse her sleep but there isn't any sp lockout, so she starts charging it right away. Mr Nothing needs 4s of not attacking to activate his stun talent, which fits in perfectly with the 5s sleep (he can't attack sleeping targets). You prefer to not have any type of aspd relics as it may cause Erato or Mr Nothing to start getting frozen and breaking the cycle. Having Lumen can help remove the frozen status as well.

I find summer swire to be very fun, she isnt that broken and not meta but she is so versatile as a whole and really put her merchant trait to the max. Thats the thing that i love about arknight ops, you could play with her however you like and not just as unga bunga damage.
I'm having A LOT of fun with her kit, but I'm curious to see how she was received in the CN community.
short answer: not meta, don't use
longer answer: you have so many 6* alternatives that does a better jobs replacing each of her skills, and way easily to use, without the dp restriction.

@@narius_jaden215 To be honest i can't blame them.The new ops always come out on CN first so they don't have the luxury of saving the resources to every character they want and because of that they end up choosing the most meta ops over the most fun ones
I got her 5 times. Bit salty, since I wanted Eyja (I sparked Eyja), but I'll build her as I do all my other 6 stars. Eventually.
Same bro, she won't leave me alone, 143 pulls in i got 3 of her, the only respite i had from all this is getting chen alter, but i really wants the sheep!

1 new Executor alter, which was pretty cool.
1 Mizuki dupe. Also cool, but I would've liked a new Operator.
5 Swire alters.
1 new Chen alter, which I'm pretty happy about.
Eyja spark after 300 pulls.

There are math formulas in my gacha game? Hell yeah, let's go! Jokes aside, really appreciate the effort you put in your analysis. I usually don't like remembering the math or having to calculate stuff, but I do want to at least know/understand what is going on behind the scenes or simply just how things work. Your vids have been doing just that and explaining them in a very easy to understand manner. Keep it up!

Man the quality of these videos is outrageous! Well done man, truly! Also I already had her on E2 but wasn't super sure how much I would use her but this video has convinced me her kits actually kinda neat. Especially her S2.

The video I've been waiting for.
The first Alter in Arknights that had me vibing with -excitement-. Reed, I came to like after her Alter, but seeing Swire, one of the most memorable characters of the earlier chapters, and one of the best girls in the game (to my tastes) finally get a 6* Alter after years of being not only a mid, but also a boring to play 5*, has me in happiness. And I'm definitely going to have fun with her, thanks for analyzing ways in which it can be done!

Excellent video as always. I got exalter in 40 pulls but not swire so this helped me decide to save it all for typhon and virtuosa. Might try to stack 300 pulls for eventual texalter spark

Will probably be quite useful in IS both as a laneholder and helidrop pusher, or even help to survive with s1 in some situations. IS requires flexibility and she definitely is quite flexible.

Minor note to S1: the healing once target falls under 70% HP is better then both Saria-like skill (who can let low-hp units die because only healing them under 50%) and Gummy-like skill, who will pointlessly heal 1% of damage.

Is she a must have unit ? No
Is she one of thr most versatile units ? Hell yeah. Both her and ops like Dorothy are just good to have in your teams if you don't know who to bring or have a free slot. All 3 of her skills just make her really fun to play
In theory, yes, she is weak against groups. But in reality, nah, not many can survival 2700+ nuke (b4 any atk buff). You can see multiple vids of her and a flag vanguard solo stages, some of which she solo hold 2-3 lanes at once
Only have her because of pulling for Eyjalter. I wish they made her better since Swire as a character/personality is kinda cool.
I've heard people talking about how Jessica Alter is the best use of the defender voucher in IS4, but I've never seen sny vidoes of her performance in that mode...
It's good to know she can interact with enemy sentinels in that way. I'll keep that in mind.

Merchant is an unfortunate class. She's super fun to use like lee but man... That dp drain it's so bad. Merchants should have crazy stats with that kind of payment

I think I’d be considered a weirdo because my pull priority was actually Swire instead of Eyja for waifu reasons lol

No reflect damage from any enemies that reflect it, or in the example shown in the video, EB doesn’t register Swire2 as dealing the damage so he doesn’t debuff her with the cloud despite her doing the most damage.

I still have some free daily pulls but I didn't get Adele.
Swire is the consolation price.
Adele would be the first limited operator I failed to obtain since I started playing back when Stultifera Navis began.
I failed to obtain alot of good operators, Reed, Dorothy, Myłnar, Lin etc. But I always managed to obtain the limited operators at least. Not obtaining Adele feels like the ultimate final defeat.

Her S2 just seems very powerful. I’ve went back in time to the earlier stages of arknights and she just bodies everything that isn’t flying lmao. I don’t know why she does so much dps, it doesn’t really look like much on paper.
It's because she can replace the traps that just got triggered even if an enemy is on it, combine that with the fact they slow and you can pretty much kill enemies before they even reach her
About diagonal pushing, I realize the video has been made well in advance but she’s no longer got the unique part of that - Ray’s S1 can also do it, with much larger range, specialized targeting and push force, albeit obviously there’s differences in their shifts.
When Ray does diagonal push she loses out on 1 level of push force（although still at the same force level as Swire S3）, and it is not as easy as Swire to pull off because it changes between directional and diagonal push depending on the angle between Ray and her target
@@DragonGJY Why does she lose out on the force, but not Swire? I somewhat recall diagonal pushes potentially losing shift force, but wouldn’t the same apply with Swire then? Or does she have something specifically coded in her kit? Although I don’t get the last part, wouldn’t Swire’s push also depend on her angle between the target?
@@slonik0002 For push strokers their push is always directional force, Ray S1 is also a direction force. Directional push means that the force is always in the same direction as the op's deploy direction. When the angle between the op and the target is >45 degree, or when the target is less than 0.25 tile away from the op, the directional force will be changed into a diagonal force, and force level will -2 as sort of a penalty. But for Ray it's only -1. Enforcer due to his kit design does not get the force -2 penalty at all. The thing with Swire is that her push force is always diagonal it's always in the direction of Swire → target, and no force penalty whatsoever. Ray either just pushes her target in the direction she's deployed, or you need to carefully watch the angle to pull off a diagonal push, while Swire can do 10 in a second
@@DragonGJY Oh, interesting, so that’s how it works! I know the push mechanics in this game are always on some wacky stuff, like how Mint actually pushes towards her instead of pulling… thanks for explaining more about it.

My problem with Swire alter is the fact what kind of niche is filling, dmg ? Literally every one is better than her hint hint his name Chong yue and Lee is the best fit for a merchant because he is the niche he need be niche.

I guess poncrius is a good combo with merchants
poncrius is a just a subpar pioneer, Flametail is better for mini-dp printing.
Pretty much any pioneer is better for dp printing, even a 4* S1 (or obviously her S1).
How does she compared to Lee at scoring?
Like asking Lee's score for daily and advanced.
