- We take a closer look at the interior space of the Jeep Wrangler to see if it's good for kids. We also install a rear facing carseat to see how it fits.

You’re probably the only person who reviews whether car seats fit and I can’t be the only one who appreciates it. Great video like usual
Love this video, and you're right, adventures are better with family!
Excellent episode!!! 😁
The TK child seat test is a great (and apparently unique) part of this channel. Could you do a forward toddler visibility test too? How far infront of you does a child have to be to be visible from the driver's seat?Trucks have gotten so big and tall that some have started including forward bumper cameras so drivers can see what's directly in front of them. Cheers gents!
Great video! Great idea! You’ve just earned more cred with me for doing this. A real man!
I appreciate that!
I'd like to know what exactly determines payload. Tires? Spring rates? Maybe even the frame? How about the gears such as transmission, transfer case, rear end, front end and shafts?
Thank you SO MUCH for doing this! My wife and I are still preparing for kids (with GODS permission) . But you’re one of the few people that does this sort of thing. Thank you again these videos are so important and helpful
Wrangler is much better a family hauler than most people think. I’ve rented several on trips and I find the interior room larger than a compact and just slightly below a midsize SUV. With the shape of the rear hardtop it allows for a lot of cargo room since most crossovers have a big rear rake. MPG wise it does better than a 4Runner and even most full-size. You can literally not use any gas all week if your commute is short enough (
My 2 door Jeep Wrangler's payload capacity, which includes passengers and cargo around 997 = 450 kg including the passengers..
Not a great weight for 2 adults plus gears 😢
4 adults are not meant for 2 door to carry them, specially for offroading plus gears
with the Rubicon trim topping out at 1,351 pounds. = 600 kg
Two-door Wranglers typically have payload ranges of under 1,000 pounds. = 450 kg
How come you never see these things in Africa or the Outback but they are everywhere in suburban America?
The same reason you don’t see Suzuki Jimnys in the USA. There are virtually no dealers there.
Is it good for family safety in an accident?
This is a huge untapped opportunity for this channels viewer demographics. Lots of us have car seats we need to throw into the second row but none of the good off-road review channels explore family seating. I went from a 4Runner to a Pilot because of the third row and while the Pilot is an excellent family vehicle, I absolutely hate how boring it is. Cannot wait to get back into a Wrangler or 4R, but two rear car seats is what I have to take into account and this video helps a ton.
For a family I’m thinking you want a Land Cruiser.
The two door models looks so much better than these hideous things.
I bought a 2 door Bronco. An offroad vehicle should be a two door.
Great video. My one comment: A family, with all its stuff, can weigh a lot. Payload is important. I realize that most (ALL?) of the jeep and Tacoma off road conversions are over weight with the off road running gear, roof top tents and equipment; however, that is a risk an individual can make. It is NOT a risk that one should take with his family.
Wrong, you generalize and have no idea, this is my industry and we build vehicles to improve and part of time comfort, larger tires/lifts and axles don't take way from payload extras do, and if a customer wants to maintain that payload, we will upgrade the payload to maintain the factory number , not exceed it, and if the customer overloads it, they void they factory warranty and any warranty we give on the product we install for them and we have refused lots of customers coming back and claiming faulty product, it customer overloading and error and we make it very clear when they take delivery, and if it comes back like this they pay the entire repair/replacement bill out of pocket, warranty does not cover negligence
The price is not very kids friendly
Have had a Wrangler since my baby was 3 months old. I'm 6' tall and her car seat always fit behind my driving position. She absolutely loves when I take the top and doors off (front doors only - don't feel comfortable yet taking HER doors off). It's not a great family vehicle, but if you're into off road stuff, a Wrangler _can_ function as a family hauler.
Garbage for everything else but off-road. There's several other options in the market that are better and also off-road capable. Most people that buy jeeps don't even use it on the grass or are to afraid to take it off-road.
Not sure if we have hope as a species if people don’t do their homework and realize how expensive, unreliable, and poor expense this vehicle is
Yes keep doing the baby seat test because life happens and you in up with rug rats and driving a minivan 😭
maybe the worst family vehicle you can ever buy, drives like crap, horible gas millage, brick in the wind, wonders all over the road, wind noise sure if your under 30 & adventurous
It’ll break down on u, total 💩…. I don’t care, with the cost of vehicles there’s no room for error and it’s probably not a good idea to buy it because it “looks cool”
I wander what you're ride is?
@@bradj9870 2nd gen tundra, best half ton ever built bud
What! Terible gas eficiency and all?
@@bradj9870 I’ll trade the 1-2 mpg u would get with the 2022 for reliability… not to mention I bought it with low miles for a fraction of a new one 🎙️ drop
Wouldn't buy a Wrangler for a family car in the first place, nor would I buy one as a daily driver for any reason...terrible ride quality mainly, and the most over-rated vehicle on the road...between it and the 4Runner, they're the worst out there, and way over-rated by people who apparently don't know there are far more comfortable and better reliable vehicles in existence that can go offroad....most of the Wranglers and 4Runners never leave pavement, and the prices on them are totally ridiculous.
Cool a child seat fits, but you'll end up with shaken baby syndrome driving around with a kid in one of those vehicles.
I bet your fun at parties
@@CarnutMM Must be nice to have time to party.
Your on that good stuff, 4 runner is better in every single way compared to a Wrangler. Own both then come back. You probably drive a Honda pilot. Not even in the same class. Wrangler, Bronco, 4runner are compared to each other. 4 runner offers most space and comfort. Also 4runner is the most reliable vehicle money can buy right now.
@@camooo101 I got stuck driving a 2017 4Runner for 2 weeks, the ride quality was terrible, the fuel economy was terrible, and it was gutless. A Honda Pilot at least can get out of its own way on flat ground. When my 2008 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra gets better fuel economy and both of them have V8's there's a problem. Never again will I let the dealer give me a 4Runner as a loaner.
@wildbill23c You lieing. I have a 2017 with 32.6inch tires I avg 16mpg. A tundra gets like 10. I have a pro rides like I'm on the clouds. The loaner you got was probably an sr5 with all seasons. No way your getting less than 17mpg. Lieing to prove your point when there's actual owners out there is sad. Just take a walk.
I wouldn’t buy anything from dodge… total waste of money piece of garbage…
