I mean technically you get one far better than any finger maiden. She's outside of the power of Greater will thus won't oppose you besides the frenzy flame ending. She literally cannot die and thus you won't end up like Knight Bernahl who lost his maiden to a fire and thus lost and wandering.
Also only reason we get her is thanks to Torrent really

The DLC also hints via item descriptions that the 2 fingers actually communicate with Metyr... And that Metyr hasn't communicated with Greater Will in any capacity since it abandoned her.
As Metyr can give no new info. It would explain why the 2 Fingers in the Roundtable hold just point upwards forever trying to communicate with the Greater Will. Because it can't. So it keeps trying. Essentially, Metyr doesn't know what the two fingers need to know and the Greater Will doesn't care enough to answer.
According to Ymir the fingers have essentially just been doing their own thing. But he's crazy so... Who knows for sure
what's terrifying is when I beat Metyr she didn't die, she opened a portal and stepped through and is probably kinda pissed

If the finger readers are interpreters then why Melina and later hyetta share messages and toughts of the greater will (or the flame of frenzy in hyetta's case) trough them hyetta even puts it like its the reason of being of the finger maidens
Melina is more of a spirit. Same as the horse we receive from her. When she talks to you in certain locations and churches, it's more of her reading the historical moments marked into the world, the spirit traces if I would have to describe it.
Hyetta is more or less receiving the message the 3 fingers left for us/inside of us and we transferred to her mind for her to function as a translator. For our character can't understand what the movements of the fingers mean, but she and some others can.
Edit: For example, the T-posing sunmasked character only talks with his fingers and their movements and Corhyn is one of the people who can read it and transcribe it and translate it.

@@arasanm.96 well, no, the lore points to the greater will being the god of the lands between. Check out SmoughTown he does a pretty good job of articulating it better than I can. I think he did one titled “the greater will doesn’t care about the golden order” or some similar title.
@@GMurph2336 I didnt watch the video, and I probably should (so excuse me if a point i make here is addressed in the video), but regardless of that, i feel my point stands. I have never held the belief that the Greater Will cares about the Golden Order or even the Elden Ring (throughout my playthrough, the signs seemed abundant to me that the Greater Will is much....well, greater than the Elden Ring which seems tiny in comparison). In fact, there are more implications in the DLC that seem to support that (wont say, cause possible spoilers, the DLC is still relatively fresh, after all).
My argument is akin to the exchange in silent hill, when someone talked about the god of the order, and another person said "dont you mean devil?", and the person responded "whichever you prefer".
The only differences between the Greater Will, and any outer god, is that the Greater Will happens to have much greater reach, and is the dominant god. We even know that the Greater Will is not even necessary (by not necessary, i mean, it is not fundamental. for example, a fundamental god is the hindu central god, which is seen as "everything and nothingness"; you go left, youre in it. you go right, youre in it. there is no such thing as "beyond it", or even existence that is outside of it). proof of that is both Ranni and the Frenzied Flame: the latter is implied to stand in opposition to it, and the former outright opposed it, and still managed to cultivate a vision of an age, without its interference, and was even able to execute said vision.
I know that the Greater Will is not Marika. I know that Marika is a speck in comparison to the Greater Will: she, her ring, all her offspring including Empyreans, her Order, her vision, all of it are replaceable specks; not the first, nor the last. But due to the fact that it can be opposed and exited from, and due to the fact that it has its own agenda and isnt simply a melting pot of whatever agenda that people have, I see no difference between it, and any other outer god, except in scope. Ranni agrees, she made plans with that in mind, and they succeeded; the mere fact she succeeded should tell you that her premise was at least correct.

well you literally cannot even enter the capital city without a Maiden. As people doing maidenless runs found out the game stops you past a point so indeed being maidenless stops you from being Elden lord

It's unlikely, since the only way to get to that area is through the bell towers. It's more likely that the spider outside was pursing the finger maiden because it would lead to our tarnished. Added onto the fact that Godfrey's castle is just next door.

Varre's Rose Church is beyond the castle and near the bell towers though, which only makes it more likely that he's able and has reason.
