    in this video we're going to walk through the very basics in plastering. I'm going to show you how to use a Trowel and Hawk which is one of the big things most Plasterers miss.
    This helps you develop your skills with a trowel before you actually plaster a wall.
    This video comes from the 30 Day Challenge which is a programme where we show complete beginners the full process of plastering. We'll then help you plaster your first wall!
    If you like this video please like and subscribe. We'd also love to hear from you so make sure to leave a comment. For more Plastering tutorials on how to plaster a wall check out our website from the link below:

    Mate thanks so so much , I’ve just recently put myself through a plastering course , been working with my mate as well , been trying to figure out how to do that for months now . I kept taking the whole hawk full off every time , see that 1 small trick of pushing that plaster down onto the hawk has just amazed me at how I never thought of that . By the way , I was to embarrassed to ask my mate lol , he can go 100mph with it and can scoop it off like that , where as I need to keep going back into the mix with the bucket trowel and Loading every single time . Thanks so much , this has helped greatly. Great channel mate 👌🏻 10/10

    i think the best thing about your approach to teaching this stuff is that you make it seem that its doable. i watched a ton of vid's, signed up for your teaching course, bought some kit (refina/ox speed etc) and i am actually going to have a go next week. i'm going to start on a small bedroom wall and i'm going to be perfectly happy if it turns out to be an absolute clustering f-fest. it can't be any worse than the last bloke i paid to do a wall and at least i can have another go at it with the added bonus of having a little bit of experience in the bag. cheers !

    Fantastic video. Getting off the spot to the hawk is a challenge sometimes for some. Love the noise of the steel on steel when cutting the plaster. I'm currently at college but your videos are top notch ice learnt alot more this way, keep at it.

    Great video as always But... Could of shown priming the hawk and trowel. (Wet them up and rub a bit of plaster over the surfaces) Also a quick shake of the hawk keeps the gear on the hawk and stops it sliding onto the floor. Your channel is one of the top plastering channels. Good interview with Eric but my favourite channel "in reality" is Alex Morley lol

    Do you wet your hawk and trowel before starting to use them? Was told this on a plastering course but it makes the plaster very slippery on the hawk.

    • @PlasteringForBeginners
      @PlasteringForBeginners  Před 3 lety +2

      To be honest I think it defeats the object. If anything you want to repel the water to stop the plaster from falling to the ground. Hope this helps and thank you for watching my friend 👍

    When trowelling up I’m finding I often have the take the tops of ripples which leaves a stripey appearance. It still feels flat and smooth, so it’s not too important but is that normal or is it cos I didn’t flatten in enough at an earlier stage? Cheers

      @PlasteringForBeginners  Před 3 lety

      The course is in real time so we go through everything logistically. We look at tools in the beginning, get them ordered and then allow some time before actually using them. A lot of theory is covered in previous lessons 👍
