    How to survive if you're stranded anywhere in Europe:
    1) Get out of your car
    2) Walk the road you came from until you reach a restaurant. Careful, this could take up to half an hour if you're really unlucky.
    3) Have a nice dinner and catch a cab home.

    •  Před 6 lety +9

      demoniack81
      Oh yes because anywhere in Europe you're never further than half a mile from a restaurant...

      Did you ever actually visit Europe outside cities? On a proper land - not just UK.
      60 miles from my home there is land and mountains, if you go there not knowing where you go, you might never go back.

      Same problem, you lose body heat.

    • @Firecul
      @Firecul Před 7 lety +1

      Eric Hjalmarsson That would work, just make sure it is protected from any oil or dirt that might be blown around then no problem to put in the engine bay.

    • @Firecul
      @Firecul Před 7 lety

      Eric Hjalmarsson Which would stop the air from heating the cabin by heating the water instead.

      @omardude39 Před 7 lety +1

      engine block....?

    • @Firecul
      @Firecul Před 7 lety

      Omar Smith If the container is nearly sealed this would probably be the best option by heating the snow using what is obviously pure waste heat. However you still have to get that water back into the car by opening the doors, which would let a lot of the internal heat out. You'd have to rotate it. When your car gets cold, switch your melted water into the car and put snow back into the engine bay to melt while you sit warm in the car.

  • @highlandrab19
    @highlandrab19 Před 5 lety +2

    You can put a sealed bag of snow on top of your engine to melt it. Even if its not running itll still be warm enough to melt it. Also the exhaust being blocked will not gas you the engine will cut out first

    A small gas bottle stove and a mini solid fuel stove would be best of all. Also take a good survival tent and plenty of good mountaineering thermal clothing. Also a carbon dioxide monitor should be included.
    Also a good satellite phone and radio system that is open to emergency services.
    None of this is complicated. And before any of you say this is too much. If you do not have the equipment with you then you have right to be in that situation.

    AH yes, surviving is almost dirt simple when you've already got everything you need. Your average joe doesn't carry any of that. Not even I carry that stuff, and I carry a ton of stuff with me. Granted, I live in the middle of a city where even the most deserted of roads are still frequented by traffic.
    Although if I was a person who enjoyed going offroading in this type of manner, I would presume that I would A, Have someone with me or B (most likely), already have this type of equipment, depending on what time of year it was, of course.

    You have often good videoes, but please do remove this video! Your probability to survive, using your advice is fairly low and you are almost equaly of, by doing nothing.
    One of the countless advices you do not mention is shelter is the most important ting over them all, that's including minimizing the space you have to heat up, always have a tarp in your car to everyday use and in an emergency, to build a inside tent with, take a cheap rain poncho or a plastic bag to take over your body, inside your jacket, it will trap your body heat and keep you dry (but do not do anything that make you sweat while you ware it.) Other items you do not mention is: signal whistle, flashing emergency light, warm watertight gloves, winter hat, emergency phone, do newer touch snow with your bare hands! And many more things. :-)
