A blend of the the two "Candy Band" reels that ran at General Cinema Theaters. Other CZcams videos have out of sync audio. Because i worked at a General Cinema for 8 years, i wanted to fix the problem.
Just seeing the old General Cinema stuff makes me teary eyed...the first and only time I went to a GCC theater was to see Aladdin in late 1992...It's hard to believe it's been nearly 20 years since I went there just to see a wonderful Disney movie...RIP General Cinema :'(
I wished that General Cinemas was still there. If it did, I would like to see the Candyband bumpers. I usually go to AMC Theatres or Cinemark Theatres to see what movie that I really like.
I want all Texas based Jack in the Box locations to become a General Cinema theater, complete with a underground parking garage which keeps me safe from the rain
@@TimothyTimPSP Soon after Pokemon The Movie 2000 (Warner Bros. Entertainment) is literally released in theaters, General Cinema Corporation decided to close its doors a year later That was the last time General Cinema Corporation (GCC) shows a movie from the big 5 (Paramount, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Disney/Buena Vista, Universal Pictures and Columbia Pictures) which The Coca-Cola Company (parent company of the best-selling brand of soft drinks) has cut ties with the (extinct) movie theater chain
@@plushblueep Because Disney (the company that released every movie) is getting tired of General Cinema showing it 24/7 so they decided to transfer the movie to AMC (American Multi-Cinema) as a good alternative I went with my mom to go see The Princess Diaries (2001) which is literally my #1 movie of the decade because I am girl crazy Princess Amelia "Mia" Thermopolis: Me? A...A princess? SHUT UP!
They've never had one, though they recently revived and updated their "rollercoaster" trailer (Regal themselves posted it up here, and in HD to boot!).
I wish there was a better quality version of the first candy band out there (and with the correct feature presentation bit afterwards; the Dana Edwards upload is correct but audio is out of sync as noted here and both are horribly blocky and low-resolution. Fortunately, there IS a really high quality version of the 2nd candy band with the latter half of this one in much better quality as well, but it's not the primary search result or the one labeled "reupload Good Quality" (blocky as hell is more like it). It's hidden in a list of movie bumpers (that one isn't "blocky" compressed and once cropped with iMovie or Final Cut Pro plays very well on a big screen with something like CinemaVision (same applies to the "Space Candy" preview trailer; most of the ones on here are horrible, but there is a really nice one out there if you really look for it. But I have had no luck in finding a good resolution version of this first Candy Band at all.
VonMagXL I've had the same problem. I decided to put this one together because it was a blend of the ones I remember from when I worked at GC I use it when I burn dvds it's fun to have it play like a trailer. like it used to be
I've found a proper version with correct audio sync and the right ending, but I think the video quality is definitely worse. Running yours through iMovie, hoping to combine the two (proper second half), it was clear that there's a huge issue with your video. I see a repeat/edit of the footage with the candy bars swaying when it should go to the one that gets his nose caught. This appears to be in an attempt to get some kind of audio sync (yours is totally out of sync at the mid point), but it's clear the reason it gets out of sync is that the video footage has been speed up to 30fps instead of 24fps, putting the video way ahead of the audio (and thus I assume leading to the edit that repeats a bit to make the end line up). There also seems to be some odd "mirror" effect at the bottom. Cropping for 2.35:1 gets rid of the issues but takes a smidgen off the top. I've slowed the footage back to 24fps, cut out the extra loop and then used the audio from the other footage and lined it up and replaced the second half with the proper ending for that year. This gives me the improved sharpness of your version with correctly synced audio (e.g. the horn plays exactly when the horn player appears, drummer and trash hitting can along with the nose squeeze) and the proper ending. This is as good as I can get the whole proper bumper with what's out there (i.e. I want to have it available for CinemaVision as a random "feature intro" video as I grew up around General Cinema theaters).
VonMagXL I actually have a 35mm copy of the original candy band bumper that I got when my theater closed (I believe in 2003) too bad I don't have a way to capture it. If I did I would have the best copy on CZcams. it's nice to have though.

GCC will always be missed when General Cinema refused to premiere The Princess Diaries in 2001. Rest in Peace, General Cinema.
They didn’t show Princess Diaries? How?
They knew they were about to go out of business.

Thanks for the link I'm old and I forget the internet has everything
Never seen this one before. The only one I've seen is the one where they're doing the rockabilly tune.
@ApacheMan2K Yes! That is true. Working at GCC I was told that, And back in the day ILM was the best when it came to FX.
ILM?
