Movie Summary:
Generation after generation, immortal Guardians like Santa Claus (Peter Ramsey), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman) and the Tooth Fairy (Christina Steinberg) protect the world's children from darkness and despair. However, an evil boogeyman named Pitch Black (David Lindsay-Abaire) schemes to overthrow the Guardians by obliterating children's belief in them. It falls to a winter sprite named Jack Frost (Nimit Manatpon) to thwart Pitch's plans and save the Guardians from destruction.

You know whats kinda funny that i don't think people realize or at least think about, Jamie (the little boy that was at a cross roads when it came to believing in the easter bunny) is possibly Jack Frost's great great great Nephew cause if you pay attention to Jack's sister and look back at Jamie, they look almost identical to each other and this works out too cause the pond Jack fell into is near his home town which is the same place Jamie is living in 300 years later
Or maybe the animators just reusing assets to save time
I honestly thought the same! Even down to the freckles and teeth structure, Jamie is basically a carbon copy of Jack’s sister. I wouldn’t be surprised if the two are related

This was a lot of people's assumptions with the movie, but since this movie was basically buried and is coming back with full force with people knowing it more and more, that theory is now coming back and I love hearing about it!!
I noticed the similarities between jack and his sister and jamie the other day while watching a reaction and i googled it and i realized a lot of people believe that and thats why jack is drawn to jamie
In the book Santa was a Russian bandit before he became Santa, hence the tats.
Legit one of my favourite movies. Everyone always assumes it’s a Christmas movie because Santa is there, but then it’s set at Easter lol. It was overlooked when it came out because they did little marketing and set it to open next to Skyfall (Bond) and the last Twilight movie. It deserves more praise.

It always gets me with the mouse and the tooth fairy because in my culture we believe a mouse comes and takes our teeth and leaves money but growing up I learned about the tooth fairy which is still really neat
No doubt his poor sister lived with survivor's guilt for the rest of her life.
Jack may still have relatives out there, even though it's been 300 years.
The books are written by the incredible William Joyce. He even wrote a picture book called The Man In The Moon. It's VERY beautifully illustrated.
Mary Katherine Joyce is William's daughter who passed away when she was 18 from a brain tumor.
You know there's a theory that Jamie is actually Mary's (Jack's sister) descendant, thereby making Jack and Jamie related.
I've watched a lot of reactors finally watch this movie, and only 2 of you figured out Jack's _real_ power, his center, before the final act of the film, and only YOU, sir, got it in the very first snowball fight. Well done!

My brother ruined Christmas for me with, "We don't even have a chimney!" he snuck me to my mom's room and to the attic to show me the presents and I was heartbroken 😭 then he and the others proceeded to ruined all the other ones 😅

It's set near Easter, but I still consider this a Christmas movie. I think it's all the snow and cold. Easter is pretty much never early enough for us not to be well up into Springtime weather where I live so my brain just refuses to think of the timing of the movie that way.
11:20 i learned all the reindeer names a few years back (i don't remember why) but according to the Rudolph song, the order is: dasher, dancer, prancer, vixen, comet, cupid, donner, blitzen, and rudolph :)
He realizes who he is and his purpose for exitstence. He learns lessons along the way to self discovery and acceptance. Life goals!!!❤😊
One of my top 3 favorite holiday films! Other two being Batman Returns and Chronicles of Narnia the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I love the super hero holiday version theme of this movie and the wholesomeness, the comedy, the action, the visuals just everything! All the characters are so fun including the yetis and the elves! I'm really interested in a prequel where it dives into the backstory of the other guardians and especially Pitch and how they became who they are.

Lowkey unrelated but you should fr check out Hunchback of Notre Dame it’s so underrated and suchhhhh a banger musical. the animation is drop dead gorgeous and the villain kinda reminds me of Pitch in the way that it’s really well written (and his song. MY GOD. Banger.)

I learned all the reindeers names a few years ago when i had to read the poem/story of The Night Before Christmas. And i just decided to learn them in the context of the poem from memory so i could read the story with “”passion””

But, I guess they couldn't do the same with Blitzen since"lightening " would ruin the rhyme. haha
17:38 Funny you mentioned and compared Jack's power blast with Hulk, in one of the other reactions that I saw of this movie they also made that connection, later in the credits they noticed that one of the main visual artist/director is famously known to have worked in one of the hulk movie or show (can't remember) so you're sort of right.

one of my favorite parts of the movie is 17:35 because it shows how powerful jack frost really is, and that's even without a single person believing in him. imagine how badass he'd be if he was as well known as the other guardians!!

(Forgot this almost but this is actually and Easter movie not a Christmas movie) Grew up watching it and love it, I like hoe jack Frost can't actually fly but is friends with the wind which helps him to fly, and love how Jack brings the fun out in others, and I believe that Jack is Jamie's and his sisters uncle through Jack's little sister, and I pity pitch 1 from my own opinion on him but also through the books which are weird and then also Jack Frost x Tooth Fairy

Not sure if youll see this but rise of the guardians is based on the books, The Guardians of Childhood.
Tooth was part of a group called Sisterhood of Flight, Esterbunny was part of a race called the Pooka that the boogeyman killed off, jack is actually really interesting but long explanation. Santa Claus used to be a bandit which is why the way he is. Sandy was part of League of Star Captains and they steered stars to every corner of the universe and their primary duty is to bestow the wishes made to their stars.
Its def a winter/extremely early spring holiday movie. We deserved a fkn sequal. Pitch could have become "good guy" adjacent (for a semi-redemption arc), and they could have worked together to fight off some other big bad.
Yeah, I've never once believed in the tooth fairy or Santa, lets just say that my entire family is very grounded. Anyways, Sandman is actually the first and oldest Guardian out of the bunch, so it make sense why he would be at the centre of it all. Also I think Sandman and Pitch is the good and evil personification of one being known as Morpheus, Lord of Dreams and Nightmares.

I don't remember how I found out about the tooth fairy. I don't think my parents ever really told me, but I think I remember catching my mom put money under my sister's pillow one night. I don't remember it surprising me, but probably just confirming what I already knew.

Oddly enough, I don't remember finding out they weren't real. I'm sure it happened at some point, but I don't recall. I _do_ remember insisting publicly that I believed in them even when I pretty much knew they weren't "real," because I understood that it was a kind of make-believe game, and I still wanted to play along. It was part of the whole "spirit" of Christmas, or Easter, or losing your teeth, and I was into it all the way.
My favorite "kids" movie! I saw it when it came out and it hasn't lost its magic. I went and read all of the books that are prequels. They're a lot more steampunk/fairypunk than the movie but I still think it's a good sequel to them.

All the names of the reindeer are literally in the Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer song. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. (Also Rudolf if you want to include him)

I thought this movie was great and my kids love it. My littlest one cracks up laughing everytime the little girl fell of the bad. I knew right away that was Hugh Jackman. Also, just a fun fact: Did you know it is scientifically impossible for Santa's reindeer to be males? Both male and female reindeer have antlers but only the males shed their antlers around October to about April. So male reindeer don't have antlers during Christmas, only the females do.
The tooth fairy schtick was immediately obvious, never believed for a second.

26:14 I don’t think kids are ever gonna stop believing. The reason we as adults feel as if these ideas are tired is because we have lived a long while with them. But kids have just become humans and these ideas are fresh to them and believable because they have a long history. Things aren’t any worse today as they have ever been, just a lot of people who were naive kids are growing up and realizing how tough the world is. It hasn’t suddenly got worse. We are just suddenly aware of how bad things can get.
But kids will always be naive to reality (as long as their parents properly protect them) and therefore will always be open to believing.

I found out about the tooth fairy because I was sneakily staying up late to watch tv in my room. Pretty sure i was watching cybersix. Anyways I had to quickly turn the tv off because i heard my dad coming down the hall and then prentended to be asleep while my dad dug around under my pillow. Lmao he couldnt find the tooth because I was playing with it and it was back in my mouth. He never knew i was awake, he thought he couldnt find it because i had like 3 pairs of PJs under my pillow.
Another great movie thats underrated like this one is a bit older but its called thumbalina a magical experience. It was the first anime i ever watched and it message was deep.

I never had a tooth fairy, I simply collected my teeth myself in a small wooden box. I think the tooth fairy is rather unknown here in Germany (of course I don't speak for all Germans haha). I had never heard of Jack Frost or Pitch Black before the film. I also had the Sandman, but he was a little dwarf with a long beard and a blue pointed hat in a German TV series... so he wasn't an invisible creature either. Since I had rabbits myself and they couldn't even pick up eggs, I was never told that the Easter bunny was hiding the eggs. And I was always afraid of Santa Claus. Hello!, a strange tall guy who comes into your own house in disguise so that you can sit on his lap! You have to be afraid of that!!! Furthermore, in Bavaria we had the Christ child rather than Santa Claus and the Christ child was never "real" for me but more like a beautiful angel watching over me. Yeah, the first time I watched the film I was very, very confused because I didn't grow up with the beliefs portrayed in the film. But I still love The Guardians! I also think it's really sweet that the film came about because the daughter of the author of the books asked her father if Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are friends. Happy New Year!

My daughter and I love this movie. When she was a toddler she also slept in crazy positions. Once I walked in on her sleeping while standing but the head rested on the table. What the heck? 😅
