  • Dear Friends, I hope you’re well ! As promised in my recent Instagram and Facebook survey, here is the video of the beautiful and virtuosic moment musical No. 4 by Rachmaninov 😍 a piece I love for a very long time especially in my favorite version by Lugansky✨
The question is : is this piece suitable for a clarinet ensemble arrangement ? The answer is yours but I still don’t know personally 😁 but I had a lot of fun to arrange it and a lot of trouble to play it, especially the bass part which is absolutely crazy...
Six moments musicaux (Six Musical Moments, Шесть Музыкальных Моментов), Op. 16, is a set of piano pieces composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff between October and December, 1896, with each work reproducing musical forms characteristic of previous times. This Presto draws inspiration from several sources, including Chopin, and it reveals resemblance to his Revolutionary étude in the taxing left hand figure place throughout, and the minimal and quasi military theme in the right hand.
I hope you'll like it and don't hesitate to give me ideas 😁
Take care and stay safe! ❤️

After looking all over CZcams to find a symphonic version of Rachmaninov’s moment musical; this interpretation was the closest. The original piano score is simply begging to be transposed to an orchestra. Perfect Phd proposal!

I like this calendar with the Saint Nicolas every two weeks!
Bravo for pushing the limits still further, wow! The amount of jaw dropping being proportional to the number of Baldeyrous playing crazy parts, I think we are all stunned for the next two weeks.
How different the two versions are! The piano version is definitely romantic, I find your version very organ-like (that contrabass!) with a lot more drama, and the second part has a sense of end-of-the-world that somewhat reminds me of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in d minor.
Musical suggestion: Wieniawski's scherzo tarantelle. Video suggestion: bring back the sheep and all the menagerie!
