22 Creedmoor vs 243: Ballistic Gel Test - Shocking Results!

- In this video we take the Fierce Rogue 22 Creedmoor shooting 80gr BTHP and compare it to the legacy cartridge 243 Winchester also shooting 80gr BTHP rounds into ballistic gel. The 243 is a known varmint and deer cartridge but can the new 22 Creedmoor up the ante? #hunting #precisionrifle #deerhunting
Hey sir excellent review. Loved the head to head with the 243. First time coming across your channel. Subscribed!
Thank you sir!! 🙏
There is always a better round because it sells guns. The 243 Winchester will always be better because a gun in the hands is better than two in the store. 😊
Excellent video! The 22 Creed is a great cartridge. I have shot 62, 75, 80 and 88 grain ammo out of mine. All of them shoot really well out to 850 yards so far. I'm going to try out to a mile hopefully sometime next month
Keep up the good work!!!
Wow! Definitely let me know how the mile shoot goes!! Thx for dropping in and appreciate the kind words
👍👍 pretty impressive round Jr and a slick looking rifle also. Thanks
Yes sir! I’m happy with it! Cant wait to get in the deer woods with her!
If the bullet is constructed right there is no reason why the 22 CRM should not be a legitimate deer cartridge.
Agreed absolutely… its a laser
I've ran a 243 for a lot of year's. Dual purpose varmint and whitetail. I run a 80gr TTSX @3400 fps or a good old 100gr Interlock. I have been considering the 22 and 6mm creed but since I'm set up for 243 reloading I may go with a faster twist barrel to load the heavy for caliber bullets in 243. Low recoil is my preference as I'm busted up and full of shrapnel. I will keep tabs here and give you the chance to sway me to a 22 creed rebarrel.
New sub.
Excellent video.
Keep'em coming!
Thank you sir! Definitely got more 22 Creedmoor testing coming! And a few different loadings that I didn’t shoot in this video… appreciate the sub!
22 Creedmoor is like a 22-250 recoil wise it's a baby. 1 in 8 twist shoots about anything. Above 88 I think most run 1 in 7. Handloads though regardless she screams with plenty of thump for what your shooting at
The 22 CM IS a Whitetail deer cartridge when using 80+ grain bullets. 88 ELD's work perfectly on Whitetail even at long ranges.
Yes! I will definitely have more testing coming soon!!
I'll just stick with my old 243 Howa cerakote camouflage stock. It hasn't failed me on any whitetail deer or the very large axis of west Texas, not once. I use 100 grain winchester power points.
Very awesome rifle and cartridge! I wonder how it compares to 22-250? Looking forward to a full review of the rifle and would like to see another comparison
Definitely will have more comparisons coming - thx for watching and dropping a line! So far the rifle has been worth every penny
Dude can shoot! Nice job brother 👍
Thx bro! 😎
Pretty impressive & great looking rifle also. Piggy time!🐗
I'll be waiting!
Thanks for tuning in! Let me know what you think about the rig and cartridge!
I remember a guy on texas plinking had .22 creedmoor. Flat was the word used a lot describing this round.
I missed that episode. How did he and the 22 Creedmoor do??
Excellent review, and impressive groups too! Gained a new subsriber.
Thank you!! 🙏 🫡
How long do barrels last ?
About 3000k rounds less than a 270 or 308 approx… so less than those but more than a 28 Nosler… moderate. I will keep track of the count for sure… rn Im getting .28” groups should be pretty easy to tell when those start widening
Word on the street is 1k -1.5k
@@connerm4850 I definitely hope I get more than that! However I shot it 20 times the other day and most guys shoot a few times a year for a sight in and then a few times at deer… at the avg usage rate (20-40 shots a year) we are looking at 75-80 years? Im 45 I think Im good 😃
@@connerm4850 Sounds about right. Tight twist barrels don't last as long.
Sounds about right with those velocities.
Good job. Looks like the .22 Creedmore fills a niche.
Already filled. 22 250 rem.
@@jamesclair4458 Not really, .22-250 factory loads probably max out around 60 or 70 gr. and they fall off fast in both velocity and energy compared to the .22 Creedmoor.
The 22-250 is a fantastic round. But it loses to the creedmore.
The 6.5 is known for mild recoil…how does this one compare in that area ? That is one bad ass looking rifle
She will be my new deer hunting and hog rig for a few years… feels like a pellet gun or a paint ball gun seriously
@@cr42hunting99 that is pretty interesting
It's an interesting cartridge. Thanks
Yes sir indeed! Loving it so far… ask me again after a few hunts!
@@cr42hunting99 got to be smokin
Interesting!! Impressive data on the 22
Yes sir! So far loving the rifle… lots… 💗
Not a apple to apple comparison do it with same BC bullets
I'll keep my 22/250 AI and 88 grain eldm @3000 fps
Bullet especially factory offerings are never the “same” BC… it may be the highest BC in that caliber at any rate the 22 Creedmoor was using factory offerings not everyone handloads either. The 22/250 (as I said in the video) is more than capable if you already have one… but the 22 Creedmoor is the flattest shooting out to 400 yards out of every factor offering. Innovation is a good thing… thx for dropping in mate!
Tsx vs an Eld meh not very similar
👍
Man i might have found my next bolt gun!!!
Just got some 95gr ammo in too… will be testing it over the next 2-3 weeks!
If you feel like replacing barrels frequently
Great video. A lot of good info in a very concise format. I have the 6.5, 25, and 6mm Creedmoors. I’ve been on the fence on building a 22 creedmoor or building a dedicated benchrest rifle in 6br. Thx gor the content. I subscribed. I recommend other to too.
Thank you sir! Loving the rifle so far - feels like shooting a paintball gun! Go ahead and build that 22 Creedmoor
Thanks for the informative video. I’ll be interested to see how it performs on big hogs.
Hopefully I can report soon! Hogs are tough!
Great video brother. Just sub’d. Looking forward to more to come.
Thanks bro! 🫡
Hornadys loads dont do it justice. You can get 150fps, 200fps over box speed no problem.
I have more loads to try in the next video for sure
@cr42hunting99 awesome, I settled on the 75ELDM an they haven't disappointed. Have some 77 Sierras I'm going to try sometime. Was going to try 62VLT but energy wise couldn't do it.
Probably had to keep pressure down for gas gun users
Maybe some many sue happy people i think they stay on the safe side anymore@@RockinRack
Almost no recoil!!
Felt like a bb gun or a pellet gun… crazy
What muzzle brake did you use on the 22 creed
Its the brake that came with the rifle
What do you think of the Fierce? I've been thinking about a Horizon Vandal or building a 22 Creed.
Excellent rifle… superior quality
How does it compare to .22 ARC?
Will drop a video on that soon… stay tuned!
@@cr42hunting99 oh, I will
Same thing but faster lol
I just checked midway USA for 22 creedmoore they had 1 selection surprise surprise it was not in stock and it was $ 145.00 for a box of 20
Just gotta know where to go.. the internet is vast www.texasammunition.com/22-Creedmoor-Ammo-s/228.htm
Midway (despite their size) doesn’t have the market covered for everything… I have about 5 websites I can get 22 Creedmoor from.
I wish they would make a .22 Grendel. Great video, thanks!
That would be sweet!
They do. It’s the 22 ARC
Excellent content. Very informative. I hit the subscribe
Thank you! 🙏 🫡
Why 22 creedmoor vs 243why not the over rated 6,5 creedmoor....every 1000 Rounds and it's needs a new barrel?
First I compare it vs the 6.5 in the video linked here… 2nd case capacity is close… 3rd nothing about the 6.5 is over rated 😆 next most folks shoot their rifles less than 10 times a year and definitely not 100 rounds each trip… I have dozens of rifles it will take me 25 years to burn this barrel which should get closer to 1500 rds… nonetheless I can afford a new barrel when its time 😉 22 Creedmoor vs 6.5 Creedmoor Ballistic Gel And Water Jug Test
czcams.com/video/QiNKtNHbkAM/video.html
Did anyone see the 243 round come out of the end of the ballistics gel at 4:39. Not sure if the 22CM made it out the other end a it got a bit confusing when the gel block had been turned around and used from both ends.
Good video. Subscribed. At 4:59 of the video it looks as if a bullet comes out of the end of the second block? Did that actually happen? Thanks
Thanks! Yes it did!
@@cr42hunting99 that's some good penetration. Thanks for the response.
Nice rifle but I just don't understand why they keep inventing new cartridges that are the same as old ones 6.5 cred = 6.5/06 22 cred = 22-250. But I guess im as bad I messed around with alot of the ackley improved stuff for years and I still don,t know why.
Nahh the 22 Creed ballistics are way better than the 22-250 but I understand your point but the answer is two fold innovation and money 😂
👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Roger!
.243/6mm is as small as I can go legally for big game, and already have a 22-250 for varmint, already have a .243 and a 308 for big game so all of the Creedmoor cartridges are basically worthless to me.
👍
Thanks for the info.
Absolutely!
great video! you gave us the info minus all the senseless rambling. new follower here
@@mackmcbride4345 thank you sir 🫡
Excellent vid thanks
Thanks David!
244 is great 👍 with cheeper ammo.😊
Hornady 80 grain my choice
Good video.
Thanks for the visit
Ammo needs to come down. 6.5cm is like 28 a box. Just got 300prc for 43 a box. I cant imagine paying 40 a box for a necked down 6.5cm.
Ill hop on when ammo is equally priced to 6.5cm or less
Only time will tell and supply/demand. If more shooters start picking up 22 Creedmoors more ammo companies will get behind it and we may see prices come down and then again maybe not 🤷♂️ only time will tell! Thx for dropping in mate
I did not know a rifle barrel can be made out of 100% carbon fiber. I guess it doesn't last very long though?
Wrapped with CF… should last me 30 years - I mean Im 45 😆 I should be able to afford a new barrel if need be
@@cr42hunting99 oh, my bad. you said 100% CF, i thought you meant 100%
@@Gex121 no worries mate… unclear on my part… all good
Nice
Thanks Bill!
Nice 👍🏼
Thanks for the visit
17 BMG
😂
Thats cool and all, but i already have a .243 so im good.
Makes sense!
Hope you don’t take this the wrong way, you need a way better scope that rifle and that caliber!
Oh 💯… typically my shots (when I hunt) are 100 yards in and usually 40-50… I had that scope lying around and wanted to quickly get out and do some filming
Lmao another round that wouldn't be around in under 10 years.
People said that about the 6.5 creedmore too. Also the 40s&w. I hear the .308 is dying as well. Who cares and what's the point of you laughing your ass off over it? Do you feel better Nostradamus?
@@jer3996 What about the consumer that buys the gun he cant enjoy in 10 years? The ammo producers are struggling to keep regular ammo on the shelf but as long as they have suckers like you buying a dead horse who cares right?
@@jer3996😂😂😂😂😂 thats a good one 😂😂
Would be a serious vermin gun
It's been around for 10+ years already. It's only gaining momentum and now is SAAMI spec and available in factory loaded ammo.
It's here to stay and for a great reason.
I'll stick with the 5.56/.223, .243, 7mm-08, .270, and .300WinMag. The only 'new' cartridge that interests me, is the 6.8 Western, and after loading some hybrid powder and getting 3125fps out of a 150gr NAB in the ole .270, it pretty much negated any real reason to get a 6.8. 😂
Nothing wrong with those cartridges mate
Might be an idea to swap the 270 for a more modern round. Eventually. Nothing wrong with 270s and i get not chasing the 0.02 inch tighter group but all cartridges get replaced eventually
@@crownember560 Maybe. Lol. But, in the next 100 years, I don't see any of those five rounds going anywhere. I do see a 7.62 and 8.6 Western on the horizon, which I will absolutely have to get. Haha.
@@JohnThreeTwelve7mm-08 will be gone sooner than you think.
@@nickgarza66 .308, 30-06, 30-30, 375 H&H, 6mm Rem, 6mmCM & 6.5CM, 7.62x54r, 45-70, and a hundred others, will be gone long before the 7mm-08 and the other 4
I listed above. Those 'old' rounds have been around for a very long time, and will likely outlast most of the new stuff. Write that down. When you are old and a lil slower, you may need to refer back to this. 🤣
But why?
Why not 🤷♂️
what legal issues stop being used for deer/ i can see that people can do something, doesnt mean they should in my view. the rig very nice but cost of rig cuts out majority. light recoil opens up the use by so many as you say and opposite to the you have to use a 30 rubbish too often heard.
So you know your carbon fiber barrel isn’t all carbon fiber. lol hopefully most people will understand what you mean.
Wrapped - correct
Barrels last 1250 rounds....lol
Avg guy shoots 20-50 rounds a year... especially if he has sevaral hunting rifles... I have rifles I haven't shot in 2 years... lol... at any rate that's 30-40 years... I'm 45 I think it'll last me and even if I had to buy another barrel in 30 years that would be okay too.
$2700 Fierce Firearms Rifle and a $200 scope you know the Optic is as important or maybe even more than the Rifle to place precise shots at Long range 😂🤡
Meh didn’t cost $2700… shot .28” group with that $200 scope how much better does one need to shoot mate ? at any rate definitely going to drop my Vortex on it eventually - that scope happened to be sitting on my dresser unmounted 😂 and the cost of the optic isn’t as important if you can shoot - (as evidenced here) snipers have been dropping folks since the early wars at incredible distances with no scopes or pieces of 💩 compared to even the “cheap” $200 scope 😉 I consistently shoot 6” groups out to 400 yards (I dont hunt further) with budget gear and old eyes
Why you haiting ?
What a stupid comment by a clown lol
How does the cost of a scope improve the marksmanship of the man behind the rifle?
More expensive optics are usually more durable but it rakes a real gamer boy to say something so stupid after seeing a 1/3 MOA group.🤡
Difficult to understand you, not a very good speaker.
My apologies mate
The only other creedmore more worthless than a 6.5
Meh if it had been invented first the others would be null and void… 🤷♂️ innovation is typically a good thing buuuut thanks for dropping in! All of the creedmoors have a place for someone
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
