Don't forget, shocks are also reprinted in the subsequent set, Murders at Karlov Manor. Which means shock lands have a chance to be cheaper within the next few months.
$5? They are already at $5. You get 10-12 per collector box now. These are going down to $1. All of them. I watched someone get 3 in one pack, twice in the same box. They were excited to have 14 shocks in 1 box. Supply will outpace demand tenfold. People already have shocks cuz they are the dual land alternative. The more shocks, the less value. You aren't pulling value, you are tanking it

Just did my first sealed event for this set, I played mardu aggro and I went undefeated in my rounds. Very fun set in a limited/draft environment

Ty Paul & Morgan for opening this. Ty patreons for making it happen. On that note for me personally this set is utter garbage. I have mostly all these cards and no card stuck out like, omg I got to have. I would 100% say just buy singles, these cards were never worth much anyways.
I could not agree more. Probably only worth it if you are new to game, and even then, you are just better off waiting a month and buying all the cards you want/need for a fraction of the price.

I thought retro foil shocks would settle around 20-25…depending on the desirability…now after watching openings, I think they will go down to $10-15…there’s soooo many!!!

the shock lands are pretty common i think. the middle of the pack is a bonus land slot

6 and a half minutes in so not sure if you guys bring it up later in the video, but there is a 9% chance to hit a shock or chromatic lantern in that slot right after the 3 retro frames in a row

I don’t know how I feel about this set yet. Lots of playables but no major bangers for chase. Serialized sure but meh? Regardless you guys could make opening McDonald’s crash bandicoot happy meal pack openings fun as hell.
Other than shock lands no value at all in this set - if shocks are as common in this video i expect them to fall in value in single market so will just pick some up there. DMR had so many better good rare/mythic hits than this remastered set which is a shame as Ravnica always been one of my favourite planes just the card selection was a big miss in my opinion.

Bought most shock lands about a year and a half ago, bye bye money. Guess I'll just make lists of cards I want for decks and collect as they become free.
So u have around 80% to pull at least one Shockland prepackaged, or u got seeded boxes... either way it sucks

I love you guys and your openings! That said, I think this set is a bit of a whiff for me. There aren’t any cards I’d be excited to open other than the rare serial cards. I don’t think I even want any singles from this set, I basically already own all of the EDH playable cards unfortunately.

@@mfdoom1898 Making the mana base cheaper will increase demand for non-land cards by making it more affordable for people to build usable decks. This will hurt for those who bought lands when lands were a bottleneck to the game. However it seems the game is headed toward collectability being driven by serialization, reserved list status, and maybe special arts like anime treatments. Everything else is being commodified by Hasbro ramping up the printing presses.

You can get retro fetchlands still very cheap. Can't imagine them being more than 15 when it's all said and done.
@@benjaminharding6386 the fetch lands you can, but the foils or etched are still up in there in price. Misty and Scalding Tarn retro foil are both going for about $30. But honestly who knows with WOTC. I mainly enjoy the reprints for new player accessibility.

Any opening I saw of the collector display of ravnica I notice non of them are really worth it. You pay 200-220$ for one and get more or less 100$ back. Same with yours, I feel like its a waste of money.
Welp, shock lands soon to be game pieces. Think this set is going to be a hard pass for now. Until it gets super cheap, not alot I'm interested in.. =(

@thor82ak ragavan is a 40 dollar card and hard to pull. Look at kenruth proce. All thstupid companions. No new cards worth ten bucks other then the new etali. Sets garbage
